b. David learned (the hard way) that joyful emotions about God cannot substitute for obedience to Him. We can “feel” close to God and yet still do things that displease Him. Is this a lesson you think you need in your life?

c. David got into trouble when he neglected his kingly duties. Have you ever gotten yourself in a mess because you neglected the job God has given you?

d. David discovered something about himself from the parable that Nathan, the prophet, told him. Can you think of a parable of Jesus that has taught you something you really needed to know about yourself?
