Dear Partners and Friends,

W elcome to another edition of The Covenant

Voice. It is such a pleasure to afford you with

yet another resource to build your faith and

expose you to important information regard-

ing our church. I invite you to take the time to go through the

contents presented here.

It is the heart of God and our hearts desire that you grow into

the champions Father wants you to be. You have been given

everything you need to grow, mature, become, and possess all

that the Word prescribes. The Father’s will; Jesus’ sacrifice; and

our commission to teach you truths of the same is to set you in

motion to live out your best life (The Zoe-Life)!

Faith comes by hearing. Hear and receive the Word of Truth.

Then, determine to live what you know. It does not count for an-

ything just to be religious. James 1:25 Become established in the

truth and in the inheritance God has so richly provided.

Also, we are so excited about “Harvest Conference 2012”. I

want everyone to get your minds wrapped around November

9th—11th. Sessions have been put together to cause the

“Breaking Forth” to explode in your life. You will not be the

same.

Be Blessed! Pastor

Page 4: The Covenant Voice - October

T he greatest asset a child of God possess is the

Word. The Word of God is the foundation for

life and how we are to live our lives. The Word

of God gives us pointers to our inheritance in The

Anointed One, Jesus. Without the Word we will go aimless-

ly through life only to end up frustrated because anything

will look like where you want to go.

Next to possessing, studying, and living the Word we must

possess a good understanding of the Word. The eyes of our

understanding must be enlightened in order for us to be set-

tled in our faith to enjoy the benefits the Word contains. We

must understand that the will of God is for us to prosper and

live a good life along with how He prospers us and how to

get that prosperity flowing our way.. (Ps. 35:27) We must

understand that it is the will of God for us to be healed; how

He heals, and how to appropriate healing for every area of

sickness that touches our bodies or anyone around us. (Is.

53:5; Matt. 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24) We must understand that over-

all, Father has brought us into the Kingdom to do us good all

the days of our lives. (John 10:10; 2 Peter 1:3) So, begin to

pray, “Lord, open the eyes of my understanding. I do not

just want to know your will. I want an understanding that

the enemy can never take away.” Matt. 13:19 Truth that is

understood can never be taken away.

Understanding in return brings on revelation and enlight-

ment. When the Word comes alive it brings on the energy to

cause anything desired to come to pass. As far as the eyes

THE MOST NEEDED THING—The Word of God

Page 6: The Covenant Voice - October
Page 7: The Covenant Voice - October

I t is important to know that God’s wis-dom is the principal tool for exploit and relevance in the school of life. Without the wisdom of God in a man’s life, his

fulfillment of destiny is at stake. The wisdom of God bailed Joseph out of eternal imprison-ment. This same wisdom brought Daniel out of the slaughter to the throne of life. These are few examples of those who have obtained a good report by the operation of the wisdom of God in their lives.

I want you to know that there is a wisdom so-lution to every issue of life. As you go through this teaching this month, may you connect to the wisdom of God that will announce you to your world in Jesus’ name!

What is wisdom? Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge.

Wisdom, as defined scripturally, is knowing the scriptural way to go, the scriptural steps to take and the scriptural things to do. Also, wis-dom is the application of biblical

knowledge to everyday life.

From God’s Word, we discover that there is earthly wisdom, which is the accumulation of man’s tricks to preserve himself (without God). There is intellectual wisdom (it stops at book knowledge). It includes all technological, scientific and intellectual efforts.

We also have divine wisdom, which is God’s kind of wisdom. It is from above. God’s Word says: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreat-ed, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiali-ty, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). Divine wisdom is the work of the Holy Spirit revealed through the Word of God; it also produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

The third is devilish wisdom, which is the type of wisdom that operates in the occult

realm. God’s Word says: This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish (James 3:15).

How then can you connect to God’s (divine) wis-dom, which is the principal thing? You can get connected to God’s wisdom through the follow-ing ways:

New Birth:

Every encounter with God’s wisdom starts with a relationship with God, the only wise God. God’s Word says: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is un-derstanding (Proverbs 9:10). Without salvation, you don’t have access to the wisdom of God. You can only operate in earthly wisdom and common sense. So, to operate the wisdom of God, you need to be born again. You need to have the mind of Christ, and this can only come by surrendering your life to Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Prayer:

To have access to God’s wisdom, you need to ask God in prayer. God is ever ready to give to those who ask Him in faith (James 1:5-6).

Soul Winning: To acquire God’s wisdom, you need to attend to the heartbeat of God, which is soul-winning. You need to tell others about Christ. As you do, divine wisdom is then released to you. God’s Word says: The fruit of the right-eous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30, Daniel 12:3).

Knowledge:

The devil plays on the ignorance of men. Igno-rance, they say, is a disease. So many people, to-day, are in one problem or the other because they

don’t have what it takes to come out of that prob-lem (Hosea 4:6). Start by reading anointed books, listening to tapes, etc., to increase your knowledge of what is needful (Proverbs 24:5). May the Lord give you understanding.

Right Company:

Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. The company you keep determines the level of wisdom you can operate, and your level of wisdom determines your worth in life. God’s Word says: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20).

Wisdom Continued from page 7

Every encounter with God’s wisdom starts

with a relationship with Him, the only wise

God. God’s Word says: The fear of the Lord is the

beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy

is understanding (Proverbs 9:10). Without salva-

tion, you don’t have access to the wisdom of

God. This only comes by surrendering your life

to Christ by saying this prayer of faith: Dear

Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. For-

give me my sins. Cleanse me with Your pre-

cious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Sav-

iour. Now I know I am born again!

HALLOWEEN

Should Christians Cele-

brate Halloween?

S hould you and I be involved in the cele-bration of Halloween?

Finding the answer to this question has been an interesting journey in itself. I in-

terviewed several people and then researched what many leading Christian writers, authors and spokesmen have written about the subject. I also searched various websites such as christiani-tytoday.com, focusonthefamily.org, and cbn.com to read what others might be saying. What I found was an agreement on the origins of Hal-loween, but a mixture of recommendations about allowing our children to participate in this super-charged media driven holiday.

The origins of Halloween are Celtic in tradition and have to do with observing the end of sum-mer sacrifices to gods in Druidic tradition. In what is now Britain and France, it was the begin-ning of the Celtic year, and they believed Sam-hain, the lord of death, sent evil spirits abroad to attack humans, who could escape only by assum-ing disguises and looking like evil spirits them-selves. The waning of the sun and the approach of dark winter made the evil spirits rejoice and play nasty tricks. Believe it or not, most of our Halloween practices can be traced back to these

old pagan rites and superstitions.

But what about today? Perhaps we can still learn from history. In the fourth century, Christians at-tempted to co-opt the holiday by celebrating the lives of faithful Christian saints the day before Hal-loween. This was a conscious attempt to provide an alternative and re-focus the day away from ghouls, goblins, ghosts, witches and other “haunted” experiences. Since that time many Christians have decided to allow their children to dress in more “innocent” costumes of pumpkins, princesses, Superman or as a cowboy. Part of this is due to the simple reality that in today’s Western culture it is nearly impossible to “avoid” Hallow-een.

Just before reaching a conclusion on the subject, I was struck with the thought that I ought to further my search and find out what Wicca, the official re-ligion of witchcraft, has to say about Halloween. Perhaps they viewed the day as a simple fun and innocent neighborhood activity?

“Shock” is the only word to describe what I found. Halloween is a real, sacred day for those who fol-low Wicca. In fact, it is one of two high and holy days for them. The Celtic belief of spirits being re-leased is current, along with the worship of Sam-hain (the lord of death) – both are promoted as something to embrace on that day. There is no question in my mind that to those who believe and follow the practices of witchcraft, Halloween rep-resents an opportunity to embrace the evil, devil-ish, dark side of the spiritual world.

Celebrate

October’s

Birthdays

So after discovering this, what is a reasonable conclu-sion? As Christians you and I are placed in this world to be a light in a world of darkness. There is no lasting benefit to ignore a holiday that exists around us, but it also does harm to celebrate Halloween as it has origi-nated and grown over the centuries.

My suggestion? Christians should be teaching their children (age appropriately) that:

there is a spiritual world filled with goodness from God and evil from Satan (Eph. 2:1-10);

life with Christ has power over darkness (I John 4:4); and

those who celebrate Halloween either are unaware of its roots, or are intentionally promoting a world where evil is lauded and viewed as an ultimate power.

To counter the evil influence of Halloween, we need to join together and celebrate the reality of the heroic efforts of Christian saints over the evil in their day. Many leaders in the past -- and present -- have ful-filled the mandate of destroying the works of the devil through their sacrificial commitment to Christ and His Kingdom.

Too, rather than “hide” in the face of evil, we should unabashedly and boldly create an alternative that is positive and uplifting; that celebrates good over evil and the triumph of God over Satan. We need to pro-vide an environment that also makes room for heaps of fun while using the day as a “teachable moment” to celebrate God’s protection, provision and purpose for our lives.

The Truth About Fiber

As consumers, we have all been introduced to the term fiber. Fiber is advertised on cereal boxes, on food labels and on TV commercials. We all know that it is good to consume fiber throughout the day, but do you know the reason behind this push toward high-fiber diets?

To begin with, let's get to the basics about fiber. What is fiber and what, specifically does it do for your body? Fiber is defined as carbohydrates that cannot be digested by the body. It comes from plant sources and is found in two different forms. Soluble fiber becomes a gel when mixed with liquid in the body. Soluble fiber is found in foods such as oats, beans, peas, apples, and oranges. This type of fiber is essential to the body due to its ability to lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. Insoluble fiber is a type of fiber that remains solid when mixed with liquid in the body. It is found in foods such as whole grains, green beans, cauliflower and fruit skins. This type of fiber is essential in moving waste through the intestines and balancing the pH in the intestine. It is recommended that individuals consume 20-35 grams of fiber each day in the ratio of 75:25 insoluble to soluble fiber.

You now know what fiber is and what it does for your body, but what other benefits does a high-fiber diet offer? A diet rich in fiber has been shown to decrease hypertension, arthritis, diverticular disease, and diabetes. Researchers performed 10 studies in the United States and Europe with 91,058 men and 245,186 women over a period of time extending from six to ten years. These studies showed a direct correlation between the amount of fiber consumed and the incidences of heart disease. It was found that for every ten grams of fiber people took in each day the risk of developing heart disease decreased by 14%. The risk of dying from heart disease decreased by 27%! Imagine the decrease in heart disease in the US if the average person attained the recommended 20-35 grams of fiber per day!

Page 14: The Covenant Voice - October

O ne thing for sure: We can trust the

promises and power of God. We can

trust Luke 6:38. It says, “Give, and it

shall be given unto you; good meas-

ure, pressed down, and shaken together, and run-

ning over, shall men give into your bosom…”

How to make sure our giving accomplishes what

it should on our behalf is to give in accordance to

the Word of God. Hebrews 10:36 says, “For ye

have need of patience, that, after ye have done the

will of God, ye might receive the promise.” There-

fore, it is important for us to discover how to give

properly in order to reap adequately.

God is a God of order. Keep the order and you

will get results every time.

Tithing

Malachi 3:10 Tithing effectively get us off a fixed

income and positions us to live prosperously for-

ever. If you are tithing its going to be hard to re-

ceive all that God has for you. Literally, a blessing

that you will not have room to receive is attaina-

ble.

Tithing is a divine connector to the blessing of

God. Genesis 1:28 We are to subdue and control

our environment. Otherwise, our environment

will control you.

We can stop wasting spiritual energy on some-

thing that has been handled for you by your obe-

dience of the Word. Tithing holds God to the

promise to rebuke the devourer in order for you to

be blessed.

The MOTIVATION for tithing is

obedience to His Word. Then, we

control our environment by subdu-

ing.

First Fruit

Proverbs 3:9, 10 There are thirty

one references to first fruits in the

bible. It is all about honor. Honor

is the gift one gives to his self.

Give yourself the gift of honor.

First fruits show God that you are

not in love with money. A gener-

ous man show God that he is not in

love with money. You then show

God by the first fruit that you can be trusted with

money. It carries a notion that you just want to be

a blessing. It shows God your gratitude for the

extra blessing on your life. This offering is an ex-

pression of love for His Word. Romans 11:16

The MOTIVATION for the First Fruit is generos-

ity.

Alms

Continue on page 14

Page 15: The Covenant Voice - October

Giving of alms is giving to man and not just directly

to God as in offerings and tithing. Matthews 6:1—4

You do not broadcast alms giving. Alms are given in

secrecy in order to protect their dignity. Most giving

is alms giving.

Do not turn your tithe into alms. Alms are returned

on the rate of penny for penny. You get what you

give.

Give in order or you will shut down the rate of re-

turn. Proverbs 19:17

The MOTIVATION for alms giving is compassion.

Spirit-Led Giving

Mark 4:3 The only way the 30-60-100 fold return

comes is by giving. Giving stops poverty in your

life. It is the total debt cancellation prescription.

This is where the big bucks are (the Big rate of re-

turns). Luke 6:38; Deuteronomy 1:11

Now keep the Order:

1. Tithe—You must be a tither

2. First Fruit—As the Lord increase you, honor Him

with the first fruits.

3. Alms—Position yourself to be a giver. Look to

bless others around you all the time.

4. Spirit-Led Giving—Being led by the Spirit of God

in your giving. Holy Spirit knows what needs are

coming up in life. He leads you as to the seed to

be sown. 2 Corinthians 9:10

Keep this order. Do not take things out of order.

You are not an appropriate giver until you have

tithed. Neither can you just tithe and not obey in

alms, first fruits, or giving of offerings.

Believe what he says and just be blessed! Spring up

and bring forth.
