The Councils Update
Current Business
• NSC updates:
• The Annual Late Night Breakfast will be held on Wednesday December 6th from 9:00-10:00pm in the New Center Atrium. This is free to all students, RSVP by December 1st on Presence.
• Chief Kali Meonske gave us an update on the campus-wide safety drill emphasizing poor participation with a number of groups. There was also a full debrief sent out to the NEOMED community. A full-scale, start-to-finish with responding agencies, exercise is expected in late fall.
• Chef Xavier gave an update on Pizza and the NSC performed a blind taste test on a number of pizza recipes. The original recipe was actually graded very highly and the NSC is still in discussion with Auxiliary Operations on how we will proceed with augmenting the pizza recipe.

• SCC Updates:
• (Pharmacy) Requests for PDBI tutoring support have led the Learning Center to schedule workshops for the course
• (Medicine) HDS faculty and SCC reps will be meeting in the near future to discuss the class's recent exam performance and ways the course's delivery might be changed to enhance it
• (Medicine) The Learning Center is now offering small group tutoring for HDS. The hope is that the center's tutors can work with preexisting study groups to help optimize study strategies and time usage
• Any other concerns or questions? Email: [email protected]
• Conduct Council Updates: During the November Student Conduct Council meeting we discussed class specific conduct and professionalism concerns, professionalism concern note revisions, and undergraduate professionalism talks. We are currently scheduling meetings at KSU, YSU and Akron to discuss overall expectations, professionalism and answer any questions for future NEOMED pharmacy and medicine students. Class concerns included pirated versions of learning materials, professionalism from satellite campuses during conference calls, perception of random drug screenings, and the desire for quiet hour stipulations. These concerns were all discussed in depth and will continue to be evaluated at future meetings. Any other concerns or questions? Email: [email protected]

November 2017
• COG – None
• M4 – None
• P4 – None
• M3 – No shadow policy – Anita is meeting on the 9th to
discuss this issue.
• P3 – None
• M2 – GE Commons are freezing. Harmony has reached
out to Campus Opeations to look into this. People are
complaining of the testing computers being plugged in
constantly and that it is wasting energy. However, it was
determined that this needs to happen to prevent
computer failure during tests. They do not draw much
power in this state.
• P2 – New trashcan requested in Liebelt
• M1 – Need a printing update.
• P1 – Ongoing quiet section issues.
Look for an email from Dr. Sandra Emerick regarding additional concerns and resolutions for each.
