[3] Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga star as Ed and Lorraine Warren , paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of haunting. Their reports inspired the Amityville Horror . [4] The Warrens come to the assistance of the Perron family (Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor ), who are experiencing increasingly disturbing events in their farmhouse in R hode Island in 1971. [5] James Wan is a successful film director who directs many film genres, including the horror genre. He is widely known for directing the horror film "Saw" (2004) and creating "Billy the puppet". In addition to that, Wan has also directed "Insidious", "The Conjuring" and "Insidious: Chapter 2"
