Extravagant Welcome No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

We Prepare to Hear God’s Word

Prelude Prelude ~ Organ Theodore Kullak (Silent preparation for worship begins with the appreciation of this music offering)

Call to Worship

Come to this place of love and forgiveness. We have come because we want to celebrate our faith.

Come – for it is God who invites and welcomes you! It is a joy to be invited by God!

Come, let us worship and praise our God together! *Opening Hymn Praise to the Lord PH #15 Unison Prayer of Invocation

God of all times and places, we praise and worship you. You guide your creation with never-failing love, and take care of the needs of all your children. You give hope to the hopeless, freedom to the enslaved, and justice to the oppressed. Open our hearts and minds to new possibilities within the sacred circle of this community, so that, through Christ, we might participate in the healing of this beautiful yet hurting world as we join our voices together in saying the prayer Jesus taught his disciples...

The Lord's Prayer

Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Anthem The Gist of Love Hal Hopson Prayer of Confession

There are times, O God, when we don’t think about you; when we use your name only in anger; when we have forgotten your love; when we have failed to show love to others when we don’t trust you; when we think no one, not even you, care about us; when we have hurt someone and refused to say “I’m sorry.” For all these things and more, we say, “we’re sorry, God” and ask for your forgiveness. Amen.

Words of Assurance and Grace

There is no limit to God’s forgiveness. It comes to us over and over again. “Seventy times seven times,” Jesus said, which means “without end.” We are loved without end. We are forgiven without limit.

All: Thanks be to God.

*Gloria Patri PH #513 Glory be to the Father [Creator], and to the Son [Christ], and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
