THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEM

INTRODUCTIONYOU HAVE ALREADY POSITIVELY CHANGED YOUR LIFE

hat do you most want out of life? Do you want to be richer, morefulfilled, or to lose weight? Maybe you’ve been longing to be moreconfident, more attractive to the opposite sex, to have a baby, or to

climb the career ladder more quickly.

I can tell you that anything you want in life is possible— success, wonderful relationships, great health — withthe right mindset through self-hypnosis, which you’llfind easy to learn and practice. In fact, you havealready experienced hypnosis, if you pray, meditate ordo visualization techniques, and we’ll get into this morelater.

However, I’m not offering you a quick fix and promising you that your life willchange tomorrow after listening to the audio program and reading this book.Despite the effectiveness of self-hypnosis and my ability to present it to you, there are four things you should know:

1. Only you can want to change your life.

2. Only you can discover the goals that are most important to you so you canreach them through self-hypnosis.

3. Only you can learn the process of self-hypnosis and you have to want to behypnotized — I can’t do that for you.

4. Only you can take the necessary actions involved in self-hypnosis and inyour life to reach your goals and have everything you’ve always dreamed of.No one else, but you.

If you’ve been facing what seems like immovable, gigantic mountains in yourlife, you probably weren’t entirely ready to hear that you must take charge ofyour own life. But, the good news is you are ready to do it, and here’s proof.

The fact that you bought the audio program and you are reading this book isstrong evidence that you deeply want to make a positive change. You want to

Page 3: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

FACT: Hypnotism was widely usedduring World War I to treat pain insoldiers. It has also been used totreat post-traumatic stress dis-order. Since 1950 the practice ofhypnosis has been supported byboth the American MedicalAssociation and the British MedicalAssociation.

alter your perspective — or your way of approaching the challenges youface in your life, which is all about your mind.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” ~ The Buddha

Let me tell you a little bit about your mind (and you’re going to be getting onvery good terms with one part of your mind in particular — your subconscious— throughout this book). The thought to look for a self-hypnosis program onthe Internet and to buy it, all started in your mind. One little thought led to aseries of actions that will change your life forever.

There’s a saying that I love because it so accurately captures what self-hypnosis is all about: “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’reabsolutely right.” Deep, isn’t it? Well, that wasn’t Socrates or Aristotle whocame up with that. It was a little guy from Detroit called Henry Ford.

After failing twice to start his own automobile company, he went on to createthe Ford Motor Company, which eventually became the largest carmanufacturing company in the world in its day. Furthermore, Fordrevolutionized the way the world manufactured with his “assembly line” andhelped give birth to the age of industrialization.

“Do or do not... there is no try.” ~ Yoda, Star Wars

When it comes to self-hypnosis, you have to believe you can do it, and it canbe effective in your life. That’s why all forms of hypnosis are self-hypnosis —whether you do it yourself, or someone else does it for you, you have to wantto be hypnotized.

So to steal from Ford, if you don’t believe you can be hypnotized, then youcan’t. If you believe you can, then self-hypnosis will start a ripple effect ofchange in your life even you couldn’t imagine.

Once you begin to learn about self-hypnosisand to regularly practice it in your life, keep inmind at all times that you are truly the masterof your fate. As you have been already.

You may have wondered why you weren’t able

HYPNOSIS OUTPERFORMSPSYCHOANALYSIS ANDBEHAVIORAL THERAPY

As far back as the spring of 1970,American Health Magazine pub-lished a survey of psychotherapyliterature by Alfred A. Barrios,Ph.D., which showed the thera-peutic benefits of hypnosis. Forstudy participants undergoingpsycho-analysis there was a 38percent recovery rate after 600sessions.

Seventy-two percent of studyparticipants who were undergoingbehavioral therapy showedimprovement in their behaviorafter 22 sessions. But, there wasa 93 percent recovery rate aftersix sessions for individuals whoreceived hypnotherapy.

to achieve the things you wanted out of life. Why are some people so“lucky” and others walk around questioning themselves and can never seem tohave the type of success they want. For one thing, they are working with anempowered mindset, where you may have been negatively influenced by fearor doubt.

People who achieve what many of us consider inconceivable feats don’t buyinto the negative and toxic messages out there. And, boy, are they out there. In 2008, the advertising industry was worth $652.9 billion, with the U.S. adindustry making up $285 billion of that amount.

That’s nearly half of the world’s revenue dedicated to telling you about all thethings that are wrong in your life — your clothes are so last year, or your carwon’t attract women, or your God-given curves aren’t attractive — so you cango out and buy stuff that won’t make you any more content than when yourmoney was sitting in your bank account growing interest.

“We are what we repeatedly do.Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” ~ Aristotle

Imagine where those corporations and the ad industry would be if you choseto flood your mind with positive images and messages every day. It’s reallythat simple; you can choose the thoughts and actions that will transform yoursubconscious mind and your life in three months, six months, or a year.

Let’s consider how truly amazing the mind isagain. You already know that on average, most ofus do not use the full capabilities of our minds(it’s more than 10 percent so you can stop lettingthat little mythical statistic hold you back). However, there are places you can go to in yourmind that allow you to achieve what you thoughtwas unachievable — that seemingly unfairadvantage that world-class athletes already have.

Consider this: You might have heard the storyabout a study with some ordinary guys and thephysical strength they had when holding a brick. When these men were conscious, they could holdthe brick out for only about five minutes onaverage. However, when they were hypnotized,

Page 5: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 4

the men were able to hold the brick for 15 to 20 minutes. That’s three timesmore strength than they had when they were conscious. Imagine being able touse your mind to be three times more efficient at your job. Or, to be able totriple or quadruple your wealth, or to increase your speed in a marathon bythree whole minutes when you thought you had reached your maximumspeed.

The biggest limits you place on your life all begin in your mind. Youmay not be able to alter the weather, return to your 20s if you’re in your 40s,or leap tall buildings. No, self-hypnosis can’t defy the laws of physics. But, itcan deter and demolish the thoughts you hold that are crippling your life.

Choose this moment to stop arguing for your limitations. Focus on the reasonswhy you can. Why waste time arguing for thoughts and actions that havelimited your life, and prevented you from being who you truly are?

So whether you have been carrying around 20 extra pounds for 20 years, oryou’ve been struggling under crippling debt, or you can’t find your life mate,self-hypnosis can help you to create the mindset that is going to set the stagefor your life.

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life, as bythe obstacles one has overcome trying to succeed.” ~ Booker T. Washington

The Biggest Benefit of Self-hypnosis

Now you’re beginning to understand the endless ways self-hypnosis canempower you and make the life you want a reality. But, I haven’t told you thebiggest benefit of all. The greatest advantage you have when using self-hypnosis without question is that you can do it on your own. It is completelyunder your control — and it’s easy.

You do not need to have another person present, or to leave your house to doit. Once you learn the steps and tools to hypnotize yourself you will find iteasy, and you can do it any time and anywhere. You program your mind, andthe rest takes care of itself.

Being able to hypnotize yourself at any time and anywhere is very important. From the moment you wake up until you go to bed, you encounter countlesschallenges, or as I prefer to see them — situations.

Page 6: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 5

Imagine if you had to wait to schedule an appointment with ahypnotherapist or hypnosis practitioner every time you were faced with a newchallenge or you were overwhelmed by a particular emotion. It’s highlyunlikely that you would feel empowered or like you were truly the master ofyour own fate.

He conquers who conquers himself. ~ Latin Proverb

On the other hand, by learning how to hypnotize yourself, you will becomeprimed to handle difficult situations — whether that’s at home with yourfamily, in the workplace, at school, driving to work, standing in line at theairport, or strolling through a mall. Just imagine how different you will feelwhen you’re able to exert better control over all aspects of your life. That’s thepower of self-hypnosis.

Ready to make your dream life a reality? It’s important you say it out loud andwith conviction. “YES, I’M READY TO IMPROVE ALL ASPECTS OF MY LIFEFOREVER AND BE RICHER, HEALTHIER, AND HAPPIER.”

Good. Next you’re going to learn a little bit more about what hypnosis andself-hypnosis are, and how self-hypnosis will change your life with more easethan you can imagine.

HYPNOSIS: A ROAD TO FINANCIALFREEDOM

When the Wall Street Journal publishes an article aboutthe merits of hypnosis in alleviating financial troubles, you’ve got to pay attention.

In a 2008 article, “A Hypnotic Answer to FinancialAngst” Gary Manouelian, a customer service repre-sentative, was laid off and worried about losing hishome and his credit card debt. After Manouelian founda new government job and was able to pay off his debtshe credited his success to 30 sessions with hishypnotist.

Other hypnotists or hypnotherapists are alsoexperiencing a surge in the number of clients who wantto fix their financial woes through hypnosis. Thesuccess their clients are finding can also be yours. However, many of these clients paid hundreds orthousands of dollars to receive the benefits you’ll begetting from the audio program and this e-book.

You’re going to learn the same easy techniques thatcan help you achieve financial freedom. Believe mewhen I tell you there are no limits, only the ones helddeeply in your subconscious mind that will soon bereplaced through self-hypnosis.

CHAPTER 1What Self-hypnosis Is and Why You Should Use It

In short, it’s a powerful way to change your life…and because you can do it

“Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes

The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:

He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass— Environment is but his looking-glass”

~ James Allen, 1902, English author and poet

This may surprise you, but your first lesson in what hypnosis is all about willactually…hypnotize you. You’re going to learn that it’s nothing like you thoughtit was. Just as hypnosis helps you to change your thinking, behaviors andfeelings, that’s precisely what will happen when I explain it to you.

Number one, if you believe hypnosis is what you thought it was by seeing it onTV, or in a movie like The Manchurian Candidate, or at a carnival side showsomewhere, put all that aside. It’s not some demonic or mystical practice usedto make people do bad things or to ridicule people. Here’s what hypnosis reallyis:

Hypnosis is an ancient practiceused in many cultures aroundthe world to deepen awareness, creativity and problem solving. Itcan change your mind andattitude, promote mental andphysical wellness, and enhanceyour life forever.

It is scientifically proven to beeffective at treating a widevariety of illnesses andconditions, increasing wealth, including phobias, psychosomaticdisorder, cancer pain, smoking, weight loss and stuttering.

The first hypnotist credited withbringing this ancient practicefront and center into the modern

Page 8: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 7

world was Austrian, Franz (born Friedrich) Anton Mesmer (from whichwe get the term “mesmerize”). He used hypnosis in healing ceremonies at hisestate (as shaman did way back; just without the estate).

However, the term “hypnosis” comes from hypnos — the name of the Greekgod for sleep. It was James Braid, a British physician and surgeon who coinedthe term hypnosis, an abbreviation for “neuro-hypnotism” or nervous sleep.

However, hypnotherapists and hypnotherapy practitioners are quick to pointout that when you are under hypnosis you are not asleep. You are in analtered state of consciousness that allows you to access your subconscious. The word “trance” is probably better than “asleep.”

When you are under hypnosis in this altered state, you can more easily accessyour subconscious mind. This is where you need to be mentally to begin kick-starting all those wonderful changes that lie await in your future.

Braid is credited with being the Father of Modern Hypnotism. But, mosthypnosis practice today — and its restored reputation in the scientific field —is based on the work of Milton Erickson. If ever there was a poster boy for thebenefit and power of hypnosis, it was Erickson.

At 17, Erickson contracted polio and became paralyzed. He also developedcolor-blindness, tone deafness and dyslexia. To overcome these challenges, which many of us would find overwhelming, he used hypnosis. He alsopracticed hypnosis later in life to control pain after he developed polio again inhis 50s.

Erickson used both permissive and direct forms of hypnotherapy, which youwill learn more about later. As a quickie, permissive hypnosis uses moreindirect language and suggestions, while direct hypnosis relies on commandsand instructions.

Thanks to Erickson and other pioneers in the field, many of us have a betterunderstanding of hypnosis. We have clearly defined tools, techniques and casestudies to figure out how to properly apply it to our lives to suit our individualgoals and purpose.

There’s also another powerful aspect of self-hypnosis; its flexibility andadaptability. You can use the techniques and tools to fit your life — yourmindset, your feelings, your challenges, your goals. Yes, for once, it is allabout you. You are going to use self-hypnosis to get to know yourself…reallyknow yourself. There’s no escaping this if you want self-hypnosis to work itsincredible force in your life. It’s going to help you unlock all that potential thatlies within you to do anything you want and to be the person you want to be.

YOUR HYPNOSIS MOTTO: “YES, I CAN!”

Best of all, and I can’t state this enough, self-hypnosis is easy to learn andanyone can do it. It’s practical and accessible, you choose when and for howlong you want to do it (no scheduling a limited time session with a therapist). As you become more experienced in self-hypnosis, you can do it in differentlocations either at home or when you’re out and about.

You’re going to be surprised at how easy it is to learn and how soon you willbe taking steps towards improving your life. You’ll be removing barriers youfeel you’ve been living with forever and truly getting a “new attitude.” You willbe experiencing the fulfillment and pleasure you want out of every day. So, letme show you just how different your life can become in our next chapter.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — OPENING YOUR MIND SO YOU CANRECEIVE NEW SUGGESTIONS, IMAGES AND HABITS

1. Practice keeping an open mind, not just about hypnosis. Whenever a new, positiveexperience comes your way choose to let it in.

IF HYPNOSIS WORKED FOR THESE PEOPLE, WHY NOT LET IT WORK FORYOU?

Sir Winston Churchill — used post-hypnotic suggestions so he could stay awake allnight and avoid fatigue during World War II.

Albert Einstein — had hypnosis sessions every afternoon and often went into a trancestate to develop his ideas. It’s claimed that his famous theory of relativity came during ahypnosis session.

Princess Diana — known for her incredible shyness, underwent hypnosis to develop herpublic speaking skills and confidence.

Drew Barrymore, Ellen Degeneres and Charlize Theron — all used hypnosis to stopsmoking.

Kevin Costner — had his personal hypnotist fly to Hawaii to cure him of sea sicknessduring the filming of “Water World.”

2. Make a promise to yourself to forget negative things you’ve seen, read, or heard abouthypnosis. Choose to accept that hypnosis is going to be a positive force in your life.

3. Write down five reasons you think self-hypnosis will help you.

4. Use the audio CDs included in the program. You only need a few minutes out of 24hours that you have each day. You can use them at home in your backyard, in yourbedroom, at your desk at work, by a lake, or on a plane. These CDs do the work for you.

HYPNOSIS: A POWERFUL, NATURALPAINKILLER

Everyone feels a little pain sometimes;stub your toe or get a paper cut andyou’re going to feel it. What you maynot know is that the degree to whichyou feel pain is in your mind and can becontrolled through self-hypnosis, evenin conditions as painful as cancer, arthritis and fibromyalgia.

In a study published in a 2007 issue ofthe journal Revista medica del InstitutoMexicano del Seguro Social, 43 womenwith fibromyalgia who underwentEricksonian hypnosis had a significantreduction in the number of tenderpoints.

Just as impressive, hypnosis was able toreduce procedure related pain inchildren and adolescents as revealed ina study published in the August 2009edition of the Journal of BehavioralMedicine.

It was more effective compared tocontrol conditions in relieving discomfortresulting in various surgical proceduressuch as bone marrow aspirations andlumbar punctures. It also alleviatedpost-surgical pain.

2. LOSE WEIGHT AND FEEL GREAT

If you’ve tried everything to stop overeating and lose weight, but nothing’swork, self-hypnosis can help you. Several studies show that using hypnosis tolose weight can be very effective, and can result in long-lasting weight loss.

3. FIND A JOB OR CAREER YOU LOVE

If you’re stuck in a rut at work with no end in sight, self-hypnosis can be moreeffective than career coaching or searching the Want Ads. Through hypnosisyou will begin to see your situation differently. Opportunities you neverconsidered will suddenly appear. Solutions your conscious mind would neverhave thought of will emerge.

4. QUIT SMOKING

Can’t nix the nicotine? Cigarette smoking is one of the hardest habits to break. Not only because of the toxic chemicals in those little sticks, but also because

of the images and “sociability” associatedwith smoking. But, study after study isshowing how self-hypnosis can help smokersquit. You’ll learn some powerful methodsthroughout this book.

5. ESCAPE RECURRING ILLNESSES

Hypnosis has been scientifically shown toeffectively treat various illnesses andconditions — and the evidence continues togrow. For instance, if you suffer fromchronic pain, anxiety disorders, or phobias, depression, or fibromyalgia, self-hypnosiscan make a significant difference in your life.

6. GET RID OF DEBT, GET RICH AND BEFINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT

You may be fed up with constantly being indebt and living paycheck to paycheck, butyou can’t see a way out. You’ve heardstories about how other people broke out ofbeing broke, but well, you’re not as lucky asthey are.

Page 13: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Don’t give up just yet. Self-hypnosis can reveal the causes — not thesymptoms — of why you’re in debt (overspending is a symptom, not a cause). When you’re in a relaxed, suggestible state, it will also provide you withsolutions to your money woes, actions you must take to become rich and livethe life you want.

7. FIND LOVE AND IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

It’s true. Self-hypnosis can help you to find the partner you’re meant to shareyour life with, improve a current relationship, or even recover from a lost love. Many of our relationships are sabotaged by undermining thoughts we haveand actions we do subconsciously that hurt or offend others — or that hurtourselves. The subconscious is what hypnosis taps into so you can learn newways to think and act that will get you the results you want.

8. BANISH “BAD LUCK”

The expression “it’s all in your mind” may be overused, but it’s so appropriatein a book about hypnosis. You may think that all kinds of bad things arehappening to you. But, through self-hypnosis you’ll learn how to reconstructyour inner thoughts and your outer world to attract “good luck” — which isreally just another way for saying your goals and your dreams manifested.

“The only good luck many great men ever had was being born with the ability anddetermination to overcome bad luck.” ~ Channing Pollock

9. ENJOY PEACEFUL, REFRESHING SLEEP

Millions of Americans and people around the world suffer from insomnia. Formany, the first recourse is a sleeping pill, which is why drug manufacturers orpharmaceutical companies make billions each year selling these band-aidremedies. Not only don’t sleeping pills resolve the reason you’re not sleepingthey come with some nasty side effects, the most dangerous being addiction.

Yes, some people — a minority — have insomnia because of anotherunderlying illness. But, the majority of people suffering from sleepless nightsare simply over-stimulating their brains. Through self-hypnosis you can learnhow to enter a deeply relaxed state, turn off nagging thoughts, and enter intothe stages of non-REM sleep called slow-wave, delta sleep — the deepestlevels of sleep there are.

10. HAVE A BETTER SEX LIFE

Page 14: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

The fastest selling drug in the world is Viagra. It’s also the number onedrug prescribed for men — and not for heart problems as it was originallyintended, but to improve sexual ability and pleasure. A few of the side effectsinclude chest pain, headaches, loss of vision, upset stomach and sensitivity tolight. Hypnosis is a better and safer alternative for sexual dysfunction that’snot related to an illness or physical problem and you’re going to learn thetools.

11. STOP PROCRASTINATION

Sometimes the biggest hurdle to turning your life around can beprocrastination or poor time management. Through self-hypnosis you willlearn to create the right mindset to overcome procrastination. You will developessential planning skills and the energy and focus to carry out your plans soyou can achieve your goals.

12. INCREASE CONFIDENCE

To achieve anything in life — finding a romantic partner, starting a newbusiness, or learning to fly an airplane — you need a healthy level of selfconfidence. Self-hypnosis will replace negative thought patterns that erodeyour confidence with positive thoughts. It also teaches you how to be morerelaxed and natural in any situation so you can have and project theconfidence that will enhance your life.

13. BE SMARTER IN SCHOOL

I’m not saying hypnosis will increase your I.Q. However, a lot of academiclearning is based on memory. You can effectively hypnotize yourself toremember facts, theories, dates, formulas, verses, plot lines, you name it. Itcan also help to reduce test anxiety, which can affect your results, and helpyou learn to focus and block out distractions.

Through self-hypnosis you can learn techniques to improve any challenges orsituations you encounter. It can help you to discover what you truly want fromyour life and give you practical steps to get there. The only limits on howhypnosis can move you towards your goals and enhance your life are in yourmind.

CHAPTER 3How Self-Hypnosis Works

The path to your subconscious mind and the life you want

So let’s refresh. By using self-hypnosis you are going to change your mind inorder to change your life. Sounds easy enough? Well, it is. You’ve alreadybegun to make changes to your mind through the daily self-hypnosis actionplans in this book. But, how is this process working?

Hypnosis is your brain in alpha mode. And, you know that all forms ofhypnosis are self-hypnosis because you must embrace it for it to work.Basically your brain has different states — alpha, beta, gamma, and delta.

ALPHA — your brain’s electrical activity slows down, you feel calmer, maybedrowsy as if you’re about to fall asleep. In alpha state you have greaterawareness, creativity and problem solving abilities. You feel extremely relaxedor at peace. Alpha state is the where hypnosis and visualization exercises takeplace.

BETA — this is the brain state you’re most familiar with. You’re in beta modewhen you’re wide awake and engaged in an activity such as reading thissentence, talking to a friend, working on a project, or playing with your kids. Ifyou “zone out” or daydream during any of these activities, however, you’veslipped into the alpha state or theta state.

THETA — when you’re in theta, your brain waves slow down even more thanwhen you’re in alpha. You are in an even deeper state of relaxation, whereyou feel very sleepy. During this state you may experience heightenedawareness, inspiration, or have physical sensations, for instance, you can feellike you’re floating. Most daydreaming takes place in theta. Meditation —which is hypnosis without the suggestions — also takes place in theta.

DELTA — in this state your brain’s activity is at its slowest range, about 0 to 4Hz, compared to 13 to 40 Hz during the beta stage, or 7 to 12 Hz in alpha. This is the state of deep, dreamless sleep which helps your body to heal, regenerate and rejuvenate. It’s also the state you’re in if you’re unconscious.

"The brain can be developed just the same as the muscles can be developed, if one will only take the pains to train the mind to think." ~ Thomas Alva Edison

ACCESSING THE ALPHA HIGHWAY

You can think of the alpha state as the pathway between your conscious state— when you’re wide awake — and the unconscious state, for instance whenyou’re asleep. It’s on this highway that your subconscious mind is ripe forreceiving your suggestions, affirmations and posthypnotic suggestions duringself-hypnosis.

But, what is this subconscious mind and why is it so important in self-hypnosis. Well, it’s where your thoughts, habits, memories, fears, beliefs, andpreferences all get stashed away. It’s essentially a blueprint, which is whyyou’ll hear people speak of the “subconscious blueprint.”

When you think of a blueprint the first thing that that come to mind ispermanence. Once something’s in blueprint, it sticks. Right? Well, yoursubconscious mind is a bit more flexible than that. It’s just that you oftenneglect it so much — you don’t take time to greet it in the morning, or nourishit with healthy thoughts and new habits — so it goes about its way doing whatit’s always done.

Basically, over time you became “wired” to react in a certain way and to thinkspecific thoughts. When you felt anxious, you reached for a cigarette, or ate apint of ice cream. If someone challenged your opinion, you flew off the handle.Or, when you got money you just had to spend it or gamble.

“The mind moves in the direction of our currently dominant thoughts.”~ Earl Nightingale

In fact, you are your subconscious, which is why any changes you want inyour life must start here. Whereas your conscious mind is busy looking, listening, learning, judging, analyzing and criticizing, the subconscious mind ismore accepting and receptive.

What separates your subconscious and conscious mind is the “critical faculty,”a barrier to good relations between the two. You can think of hypnosis as afacilitator, helping you to end the estrangement and reconnect with yoursubconscious mind.

It helps to lower that critical faculty so that suggestions can enter yoursubconscious mind easier and more effectively. Through self-hypnosis, you

Page 17: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

FACT: Where There’s Hypnosis, There’sA Rocky

Sylvester Stallone turned to self-hypnosis towrite his Rocky script. He also practicedhypnosis daily to overcome the 900rejections he got for the script.

But, it didn’t end there. While he was filmingthe movie, he used hypnosis tapes eachday. Eventually Rocky became the highestgrossing movie in 1976 earning $225million, won three Oscars, and catapultedRocky Balboa into iconic status.

have the means, the tools and the access to create a new blueprint inyour subconscious mind. It’s all within your power.

Under hypnosis — when you’re in the alpha state and are completely relaxed— your subconscious mind is more open to welcoming your suggestions, affirmations and commands. It’s more suggestible and allows you to create anew blueprint, which is essential to changing your life. No new blueprint — nonew life. It’s that simple.

CONDITIONING IS THE BEGINNINGOF CHANGE

Think of the oldest, most popularexample we have of a mind blueprint andhow it affects behavior: Pavlov’s dogs.Dr. Ivan Pavlov was a Russian scientistwho studied the gastric functions of dogs.He used to place meat powder on thedogs’ tongues to watch for the salivation

response. What he soon noticed was that each time he entered the room thedogs would start to salivate even if there was no food in sight.

Pavlov knew that salivation was a reflex and began exploring classicalconditioning. Conditioning is just a fancy word for learning. He wanted to see ifother neutral stimulus — which wouldn’t normally cause salivation — couldproduce the same salivation response in the dogs.

He started to use neutral stimuli such as bells, whistles, and visual stimulibefore giving the dogs the meat powder. Eventually, the dogs started tosalivate just when these stimuli were used before there was any meat powderin sight. Pavlov’s study showed that all animals — yes, we fit the category —can be taught or conditioned to respond to different stimuli to produce aspecific response.

We’re all familiar with this type of conditioned response. For example, yourmorning alarm signals you to get up. Or, Monday nights mean football. Or,you equate going to a bar with drinking.

Page 18: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 17

You’re even conditioned to people. If you see someone you like, you smile, maybe hug or kiss them. But, your reaction is totally different when you seesomeone you don’t like, maybe you turn and walk the opposite direction, avoid eye contact, or your body becomes rigid.

All these patterns and responses are deeply embedded in your subconsciousmind. However, through self-hypnosis you can change any thought, habit orfeeling that is preventing you from reaching your goals and limiting your life.

So, why is it so important to be on the alpha highway to your subconsciousmind? It’s that pesky conscious mind in beta state where you think youalready have all the answers. You’re analyzing and overanalyzing everything, and judging it until you’re left taking no action at all, or take the one you’reused to taking because you’ve ignored your subconscious…again.

The challenge is to forget what you know and what you think you know.Clearly, they’re not doing their best to help you achieve your goals and yourbest possible life. You need an altered state of being, a greater awareness anddeeper level of consciousness to create the total transformation you’re lookingfor.

MEDICAL BACKING GROWS FOR HYPNOSIS AND ITS POWER TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dr. Shawn McQuilkin, a physician from Ogden, Utahwho uses hypnosis techniques in his practice and has produced CDs on using hypnosis for weightloss and smoking cessation, said: “Properly done, hypnosis is the most powerful way to changethinking and behavior. Hypnosis puts you in touch with your own inner strength.”

McQuilkin is just one of many medical professionals who have first-hand knowledge of the life-changing power of hypnosis. Casting aside the cliché depictions of people being mesmerized bypocket watches or walking on stage like zombies, hypnosis has grown into a respected,scientifically-backed practice.

Hypnotherapy is taught at universities, including Harvard, Yale and Duke. It is also used inbusiness focus groups and by law enforcement professionals. Between 1990 and 1997, the use ofhypnosis grew by 75 percent.

Perhaps the areas where hypnosis is making the greatest strides are in the fields of smokingcessation and weight loss. A meta-analysis study published in the Journal of Applied Psychologyshowed that smoking was three times more successful for smoking cessation than the nicotinepatch, and 15 times more effective than using willpower.

For weight loss, hypnosis was 30 times more effective than a control group in a study of 60females who were at least 20 percent overweight. In the “Hypnotherapy in Weight LossTreatment” study, which was published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, women in the hypnosis group lost an average of 17 pounds, compared to the women in thecontrol group who lost an average of only 0.5 pounds.

“Any thought that is passed on to the subconscious often enough and convincingly enough is finally accepted.” ~ Robert Collier

In other words, you need hypnosis, a tool that’s been used for centuries tobring about some of the many inventions, arts, and social systems we take forgranted. The four keys are:

1. Accessing your subconscious mind through deep relaxation during the alphastate.

2. Clearly defined and realistic goals and benefits, including how achievingyour goals will make you feel.

3. Powerful, yet simple and direct suggestions or affirmations that replace theold blueprint of behavior, thoughts and feelings.

4. A positive mindset. Your goals and your suggestions or affirmations must allbe framed in a positive way. Again, you are what you think. If you focus onthe negative, that’s what you’ll receive.

So now you know how and why self-hypnosis works, you’re eager to getstarted on hypnotizing yourself. Now it’s time to learn about the easy toolsand techniques that anyone can use to change the path they’re on and toempower and enhance their lives. First, I’m going to make sure that youremove any lingering barriers to effectively hypnotizing yourself.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — REACH OUT AND GET IN TOUCH WITHYOUR SUBCONSCIOUS

You may have neglected your subconscious in the past. Now, it’s time to start reconnecting. Setaside an hour or so to complete these easy, but life-transforming activities.

1. Write down the thoughts you have every day that you want to eliminate.

2. Write down the habits caused by these thoughts.

3. Make a list of all the new thoughts you want to have.

4. Now add a list of all the better, healthier habits or actions you can take each day that willcreate a new blueprint for your life.

CHAPTER 4Mythconceptions About Hypnosis

“But what if I can’t wake up…and other myths”

Before we move on I just wanted to take a little time to shed light on somemyths you may have heard about hypnosis. You may have ideas abouthypnosis from television, movies, or a local carnival.

You’ve seen “hypnotists” get people to cluck like chickens, swim on dry landand other weird stuff. While it is possible for a person to be hypnotized to dothese kinds of things, it’s not the norm and it’s not what reputablehypnotherapists do, or train people to do for themselves.

The mystique around hypnosis continues because most people just don’t knowenough about it. So allow me to debunk a few myths about hypnosis so youcan find the process as easy to do as you should — and effective.

“Congenital naysayers are among the greatest stumbling blocks to thinking free.Rather than imagining how a new idea might possibly work, they instinctively

think of all the reasons why it won't.” ~ Stephen Sample

1. Hypnosis is a sham.

Not true. You may have heard that people are faking, or that hypnosis justproduces a placebo effect. I mark it down to people who don’t know anythingabout the process of hypnosis and how hypnosis affects the mind and body. They also aren’t talking to people who use it successfully every day, just likeyou can.

From the Ancient Egyptians to Celtic Druids, Buddhist monks, scientists, andcomposers like Mozart, all of these people have used some form of hypnosis toelevate their minds, find solutions or inspiration, or experience a moreenlightened life.

You can also learn more about hypnosis by doing your own research abouthow this practice has been successfully used in medicine, including weight lossand smoking cessation programs.

Most of all, you can learn about it through your own experience. This book willgive you the tools you need to easily and effectively hypnotize yourself. Then, you be the judge.

2. I won’t be able to wake up.

First, it’s not always likely that you’ll fall asleep. During hypnosis most peopleare completely aware. Instead of thinking of hypnosis as being in a state of“sleep,” you should consider it being in an alpha state, a level ofconsciousness similar to when you are about to wake up or fall asleep.

During this state you will be extremely relaxed and in a highly suggestiblestate. If you’re tired you may fall asleep, but not always. Also, remember, during self-hypnosis, you are in complete control.

3. I can’t be hypnotized.

How do you know? Have you ever tried it? Very few people cannot behypnotized by someone else, about less than 10 percent. One of the reasons iswillingness — you’ve got to want to be hypnotized. Trusting yourhypnotherapist is another factor.

But, keep in mind we’re dealing with self-hypnosis here. As you’ve discovered,if you’ve ever had a daydream or meditated, you’ve already experienced self-hypnosis. And, I’ll bet trust won’t be a factor here, either.

“That willing suspension of disbelief for the moment, which constitutes poetic faith.”~ Samuel Taylor Coleridge

4. I might do something bad or wrong.

Again, you are in complete control during self-hypnosis. Unless you tellyourself to do something bad or illegal, you won’t do it. Remember that youare putting your mind, particularly your subconscious mind into a state thatwill be receptive to your suggestions. Also, it’s well known that under hypnosis

If It Works, It’s Not a Sham — and Hypnosis Works

Hypnosis is increasingly used to treat people struggling with obesity and smoking. In astudy presented at CHEST 2007, the 73rd annual international scientific assembly ofthe American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), researchers from Massachusetts’North Shore Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital provided some of thestrongest scientific evidence we have so far of the power of hypnosis.

Patients who were smokers and underwent just one hypnotherapy session were morelikely to quit smoking at six months, in comparison to smokers who used nicotinereplacement therapy or those who went the cold turkey route. Hypnotherapy was alsocredited for higher quit rates among smokers in this study.

Page 22: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

by someone else such as a hypnotherapist, you won’t do anything that’sout of character for you.

5. If I stop hypnosis, my problem will just come back.

No, it won’t. Effective hypnosis or self-hypnosis doesn’t produce a temporaryeffect. You are changing your subconscious mind. This means you are literallychanging how you think. The thoughts you had do not return; or if they do inthe early stages of practicing self-hypnosis, you will learn through this processhow to quickly switch those thoughts into positive, powerful thoughts thatmove you towards your goals and the life you crave.

Habit is second nature. ~ Latin proverb

Hypnosis also changes what you do each day. It removes old habits that areno longer useful to you in your new life (which already exists in your mindthrough the practice self-hypnosis). Activities you once found hard to resistwill no longer hold any temptation for you. Those daily actions you shouldhave been taking to resolve your problem, but couldn’t, will now come easilyand naturally.

That should clear up some of the myths you held about self-hypnosis. It’s anecessary step to prepare you for practicing self-hypnosis on your way toliving your true life. Next, I’m going to tackle some common roadblocks thatmight prevent you from finding self-hypnosis as easy as it is for most people.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — DEFY THE MYTH THAT YOU CAN’T BEHYPNOTIZED

If you still need convincing that you can be hypnotized (even though you know you’vedaydreamed or “zoned out” before), here are a few tests to prove it to yourself.

1. Think of a short period of time that passed where you thought you were fully awakeand you couldn’t remember a single thing.

2. Recall a time when from the moment you woke up until you got to work or for most ofthe day, a song was stuck in your head. Did you wake up to that song?

3. Think of a memory that you haven’t thought about in years, one that you believed wasburied. You’ve just accessed your subconscious mind.

4. Have you ever heard a song on the radio that you hadn’t heard for the longest timeand somehow you still knew all the lyrics? Again, that’s your subconscious mind, wherethe bulk of memory is stored, coming alive. When you chose to, you could access it.

CHAPTER 5Roadblock Removal

Breaking down barriers that undermine effective self-hypnosis

While the vast majority of people can hypnotize themselves very easily, a fewmay find it more challenging. Let me stress again that you can do it. Hypnosishas been around for thousands of years. If people who lived way back thencould do it, so can you.

It’s simply a process of active imagination, which is one of the reasonschildren can be so easily hypnotized. But, for us post-kindergarten crowd, aslong as we can picture what a purple cow looks like, then we can do self-hypnosis.

First, let me explain a little about the different levels of hypnosis. There are six— hypnoidal, light hypnosis, medium hypnosis, deep hypnosis, somnambulism, and profound somnambulism. With each of these stages, asthe names suggest, you’re getting into a deeper and deeper level of hypnosis.

In the hypnoidal and light stages, you may experience drowsiness, heavymuscles, and physical responses to your suggestions. Medium hypnosis takesyou into an even more relaxed state, and in the deep and somnambulisticstages you can give yourself your posthypnotic cues, experiencehallucinations, or even amnesia.

Some people who practice self-hypnosis agonize over not getting to thedeeper stages of hypnosis. I want you to know that for self-hypnosis to beeffective it is not necessary for you to get into the deepest levels of hypnosis. As long as you are relaxed and you have your suggestions ready, you caneffectively and easily communicate anything to your subconscious mind.

As I’ve said, entering into a hypnotic state is very accessible to most of us.But for the hypnosis-resistant among us, the Roadblock Removal tools in thischapter can help. However, these aids aren’t just for them — anyone can usethem. If you’re one of the many who can easily hypnotize yourself, you’ll findthat these tools simply enhance the process and make the changes you desiremore immediate or sweeping — whether your goal is improved health, betterrelationships, greater wealth, or anger management.

"The only limits on human achievement are self-imposed." ~ Dr. Denis Waitley

Common Self-Hypnosis Roadblocks

1. Muted Motivation. How badly do you really want the change you say youwant? Do you make excuses for those 20 extra pounds (“Botticelli would havepainted me.”). Do you tell yourself that money is the root of all evil and it’snoble to be broke? Or, do you explain away a persistent health problem byblaming it on a family gene?

Excuses and rationalizations suck the marrow out of your motivation. Youneed to be clear about what you want, when you want it, and that you canachieve it.

2. Internal Conflicts. Wanting to be rich or wealthy while holding on to theidea that rich people are evil or that money only brings trouble is an exampleof an internal conflict that can hamper your ability to self hypnotize.

Another common internal conflict is believing that if you lose weight peoplewill not like you. If you’ve been overweight for a while and have becomecomfortable with people thinking of you as jolly or bubbly or personable, youmay be very prone to this particular internal conflict.

Other internal conflicts may be less obvious, swirling around in yoursubconscious. If you’re struggling with internal conflicts, you’ll find achievingany goal much more difficult.

3. Doubt. I wouldn’t be surprised if even after everything you’ve read here, you’re still harboring some doubt about whether or not self-hypnosis can workfor you. Whether you are working with a hypnotherapist, or you are trying tohypnotize yourself, doubting the process, or being critical or judgmental abouthypnosis, will squash your efforts.

“The human mind is like an umbrella - it functions best when open.” ~ Walter Gropius

In fact, doubt is an internal conflict. You want that change — to lose weight, stop smoking, be a more patient, loving partner — and everything you’ve triedhas failed. Yet, you still won’t accept that self-hypnosis could work for you.But that’s your conscious mind getting in the way of a good thing. It’s back toits comfort zone — analyzing, judging, and criticizing.

Page 25: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

“Nature can revive, refresh, and inspireyou and make youfeel closer to the

real person inside.”

Right now, you know that you need to have an open or suggestiblemind before you try self-hypnosis. That’s your conscious mind taking that in.It’s going to be a very efficient goal-setter for you, but your subconsciousmind is the goal-getter. That’s why it’s so important for you to build effectivecommunication between the two. Getting rid of those roadblocks is essential.

4 Roadblock Removal Tools for Effective Self-Hypnosis

If working on your roadblocks directly — whether you’re trying tobe more clear about your motivation or to shake off doubt —

doesn’t help, there are some self-hypnosis tools you can try.

Using a PET scan, or positron emission tomography, researchers in a hypnosisstudy found that people who are highly suggestible use different areas of theirbrain than those who are more resistant. These four tools will help you putthose areas of the brain into action and to achieve a more highly suggestiblestate.

Roadblock Remover #1

NATURE

Could self-hypnosis be achievable by taking a simple walk in the forest oralong a seashore? There’s ample evidence it can. The poet Alfred, LordTennyson used to take strolls in the woods and repeat his name over and overuntil he found himself in an expanded state of awareness that gave way to“the clearest of the clearest, the surest of the surest, the weirdest of theweirdest.”

Recently, on PBS, self-development expert andbestselling author Dr. Wayne Dyer, spoke about his loveaffair with nature. He also writes that nature can revive, refresh, and inspire you and make you feel closer to thereal person inside. With this insight, the symbiosisbetween self-hypnosis and nature becomes clear.

Many of the struggles you’re facing in life, especially the persistent, naggingones, are the result of blockages, such as poor communication skills, oremotions such as fear or pride, or external pressures such as values or beliefsyou inherited from your family. Self-hypnosis, like nature, can help you tobreak down barriers once and for all.

Page 26: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Maybe it’s the peaceful solitude you can find in natural settings, or thesounds of nature that make you more relaxed or receptive to hypnosis.Whatever it is, it’s worth spending 15 minutes in a tranquil natural setting ifyou’re not finding self-hypnosis as easy as you should.

Roadblock Remover #2

AFFIRMATIONS

Even though it’s not mandatory to use these positive words or phrases duringself-hypnosis, affirmations can deepen your relaxation state. As you’vediscovered, relaxation is one of the four essential stages of self-hypnosis. Also, affirmations help to turn your goal or desire into a reality in your subconsciousmind so your more judgmental, critical conscious mind (where doubt and pridereside) can’t reject it. In essence, you’re already experiencing your desire andthe joy of achieving it.

Choose an affirmation that directly relates to your reason or motivation fortrying self-hypnosis. Always put your affirmation in the present tense. Forinstance, if procrastination is your Achilles heel, you could try an affirmationsuch as: “I act decisively and swiftly to meet my obligations and my goals. This makes me more productive so I can earn more.” Just don’t put off usingthe affirmation…sorry, had to go there.

THE POWER OF PERSISTENCE — ROADBLOCKS NO MATCH FOR CHICKEN SOUP

By now everyone has heard of Chicken Soup for the Soul and the dozens of other books that followed inthe series, Chicken Soup for the Mom’s Soul, or Chicken Soup for the Athlete’s Soul.

What you may not know is that these books, which have now sold about 80 million worldwide may nothave gotten into print if it wasn’t for the persistence of the authors Mark Victor Hansen and JackCanfield. Before we get to that, here’s how the title came about.

Hansen and Canfield were career motivational speakers. After years of filling their audiences withinspiring stories, the audiences wanted more and suggested that they put their stories and concepts intoa book. So, the two did, and gathered powerful, uplifting stories from other people to add to the book.

When the book was ready, they had to come up with a title. The two decided to meditate on the topicfor one hour each day. (Remember, I’ve told you meditation is a form of hypnosis.) Canfield’svisualization conjured up images of his grandmother’s chicken soup and he recalled that she’d said itwould cure anything. Eureka! For the authors, the book had the same power, except for the soul. Andso, Chicken Soup for the Soul became just as famous as the broth it’s named for.

However, with a great title, great stories and two successful motivational speakers behind it, ChickenSoup for the Soul couldn’t convince 123 publishers to print it. In one interview, Canfield recalls that thepublishers said it was a stupid title, there was no edge — no sex no violence — and why would anyonewant to read it?

But, Canfield embodied what he’d spoken about so often — persistence. The two authors went on to finda publisher and since then the book has received several New York Times Book Awards and transformedthe lives of millions of people.

When you are trying self-hypnosis, repeat your affirmation over andover, just like Tennyson. By the way, it is equally important not to repeatnegative affirmations.

MUSIC

We know from several studies that music can help to induce a relaxed state. One study showed that slow, meditative music had this effect, especiallyduring pauses or quiet moments during the piece. The music was able toreduce the participants’ blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing rate.

If you’re not finding self-hypnosis easy, as you should, add some music toyour session. There are many “music for hypnosis” CDs available on themarket. Some people find that slow classical music such as Vivaldi’s FourSeasons, which was used in the study above, gets them the best results.

Others find ambient sounds more relaxing. You will find some in Session #3 ofthe audio program, which has waves crashing and birds chirping. Try a fewdifferent types of music or ambient sounds until you find the one that worksbest for you.

Roadblock Remover #4

REPETITION

The more often you practice self-hypnosis, the more effective it becomes. Some hypnotherapists refer to this as the snowball or cumulative effect; eachsession builds on the one before and so on, which is why you may seehypnosis for smoking cessation programs that require several sessions.

“Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before whichdifficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.” ~ John Quincy Adams

To be able to effectively hypnotize yourself, keep practicing every day. Do notgive up. You never know when you are about to make that all-importantbreakthrough.

CHAPTER 6Everything You Need To Effectively Hypnotize Yourself

— And Your First LessonBecome a master of your own mind in easy, practical steps

Now that you have a better understanding of hypnosis, its ability to createprofound life changes, — and you’re eager to enhance your life — I will leadyou through the four stages of hypnosis. You will notice as you listen to theaudio program that it follows this same format. And, now you have the toolsto use self-hypnosis when you don’t have access to the audio.

#1 — RELAXATION

To begin your self-hypnosis session, you will put your body into a deeply, relaxed state. This will remove any nagging or recurring thoughts andeliminate stress or anxiety that can hinder the process.

• First, wear comfortable-fitting clothing so that it’s easy to breathe andfor your body to relax.

• Find a quiet room or space in your home where you will not be disturbedfor at least 20 minutes. If you find it more conducive to achieving relaxation, choose a dark, clutter-free space. You can also use soft, hypnotic music if youwant. (As you master self-hypnosis you can practice it outdoors as well.)

• Sit or lie down — whichever you choose, make sure the chair, bed or sofais comfortable and that you are in a comfortable position.

• Start to count backwards from 10, tell yourself that your eyes arebeginning to feel heavy. Now let your eyes close. (You do not have to closeyour eyes, but I highly recommend it when you are just learning to hypnotizeyourself.)

• Breathe deeply as you begin to release any tension from your body. Relaxyour brow, your jaws, your neck, your shoulders, your chest and diaphragm.Relax your arms your fingers, your tummy, and your hips. Relax your thighs, your calves, your feet, and your toes.

Page 30: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 29

• Tell yourself you’re relaxed as you breathe. You may say: “I feelrelaxed. Every breath makes me feel more relaxed. I find it easy to relax. Mybody is loose and free and totally relaxed.”

• Count from 0 to 20, and with each increasing number, tell yourself thatyou are moving into a deeper, and deeper state of hypnosis. You can also tellyourself: “By the time I reach 5, I will be in a relaxing state of hypnosis andmy subconscious mind will be open to the positive suggestions I give it.”

• Imagine a calm scene as your eyes close: You are floating on a lake. You’re listening to the sounds of a brook. Or, you’re bathed in a beam of whitelight. Your subconscious mind loves metaphor, so indulge it.

• Remove all external thoughts from your mind. Let go and just be.

You are breathing deeply and you are totally calm. Now, you are ready tomove to the next stage.

“As long as we’re breathing, we’re always receiving.” ~ Elman, famous master hypnotist

#2 — AUTOSUGGESTION

Now that you are completely relaxed, you are ready to make your ownsuggestions to your subconscious mind. It’s very important that you arerelaxed, you are feeling tranquil and receptive — you want to accept thesuggestions. Choose only one goal and its benefits to focus on.

• Tell yourself five times you are suggestible and what to do afteryour suggestions. You can say: “I am fully aware and ready to give mysuggestions into my subconscious mind. Once my subconscious mind hasreceived my suggestions, I will return to a conscious state and feel refreshedand totally alert.”

• Bring your goal and the benefit(s) into focus. Imagine that you arelooking at them on a screen on the inside of your eyes. Continue to breathe.

• Begin your script or affirmations. With your “goal image” clear in yourmind, start repeating your affirmations, or hypnosis script. Repeat them fiveto 10 times.

Page 31: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

YOUR SELF-HYPNOSIS SESSIONCHECK LIST

• Loose, comfortable clothing.• A comfortable chair, recliner, sofa orbed.• A quiet, darkly lit room.• Slow, soothing, hypnotic music, if youneed it.• Your goals and benefits.• Your affirmations or hypnosis script.• A posthypnotic suggestion, if you needit.• A gentle “awakening” metaphor, and aphrase or word to end your hypnosissession.

• Keep it simple for your subconscious. Speak gently, slowly and ina monotone voice to let your subconscious mind accept your suggestions.

#3 — POSTHYPNOTIC SUGGESTION

Once you are in a hypnotic state and at the Autosuggestion stage, you cangive yourself a posthypnotic suggestion or cue. Think of it as a trigger or anassociation you make that will result in a particular response later on whenyou are not under hypnosis.

The idea is that the posthypnotic suggestion will help you to make asubconscious association between two things: a) The problem or situation; b)your feeling about, or behavior or physical reaction towards the problem orsituation.

For instance, if you are using self-hypnosis to lose weight, you can giveyourself a posthypnotic suggestion to crave fruit when you see oily, fatty food.If anger is your issue, you can give yourself a posthypnotic suggestion duringself-hypnosis to switch off road rage by breathing deeply or turning to aclassical music station.

Stick to keeping things simple when giving yourself posthypnotic suggestions.

1. Make your suggestion be directly related to the problem and your desiredresponse. For example: ROAD RAGE=BREATHE DEEPLY, TURN TO CLASSICALMUSIC.

2. Envision the problem situation orbehavior, and your desired response to it, asclearly as you can.

3. Give yourself the suggestion: “When I feelangry when driving, I breathe deeply andturn to a classical music station.”

4. Repeat it several times over severalsessions. Posthypnotic suggestions may notlast forever, so it may be important to add

Page 32: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 31

them back into your hypnosis sessions later on.

#4 — AWAKENING

Throughout your self-hypnosis session, you’ll have been in a deeply relaxedstate. Just like waking up in the morning or the end of a soothing massage, you should “awaken” or ease back into a normal state of consciousness.

There are several ways you can do it. For instance, during session #4 on theaudio program you learned to count from 0 to 20 to enter a deep state ofrelaxation. On awakening try the reverse: Count backwards slowly from 20 to0, with 0 being alert or “wide awake.”

If you’ve used the Staircase Method, again, reverse the process. At the end ofyour session begin to climb back up the stairs and when you arrive at the top, you’ll be back into to a conscious state.

You can also return to your place of relaxation — the lake or the beam of lightbefore. Then use a code word or phrase of your choosing to end your session, such as “That’s It, I’m Done,” or “Ready, Set, Go” or “Finished!”

Before we move on to the next chapter, I want to take a moment to remindyou that as with anything new you learn, you should be patient when learningto hypnotize yourself. Self-hypnosis is easy once you have all the tools andtechniques. If you find you didn’t enter into the Auto Suggestion stage on yourfirst try, simply try again — maybe, take a little more time during theRelaxation Stage, to make sure you reach a deep level of calm andpeacefulness.

By the way, this “retuning,” if you will, is a natural part of the learningprocess. As you progress you’ll be spending a few minutes each time refiningthe hypnosis process until it suits you. As you do this your subconscious mindwill more easily receive your positive, empowering messages and suggestions, bringing you closer and closer to the life you want and deserve.

RELAXATION AND SUGGESTION POINTERS

1. If you’re practicing hypnosis with your eyes open, to increaseyour state of suggestibility focus on one object in front of you asyou relax and go into a hypnotic state.

Page 33: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 32

2. Try using a suggestibility test to determine when you are in ahypnotic state before moving on to your suggestions. For instance, you cantell yourself at the beginning of the Suggestion Stage: “When I count to five,my fingers will start to tingle. Once they tingle, I am ready to give mysuggestions to my subconscious mind through my affirmations (or script). Myfingers will stop tingling when I begin my suggestions.”

3. If you use a recorded hypnosis script, repeat your script as many times asyou need on the tape, so you do not interrupt your session to replay the tape.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — MASTERING RELAXATION

For some people, being able to relax is as elusive as the solutions to the challenges they’refacing in their lives. Not because relaxing isn’t easy. Remember what we said about habits? Iwant you to think about when you get a new remote or car. Your tendency is to make the samegestures to press the “ON” button, or to turn on your wipers. It’s the same thing. You becomeso used to “not relaxing” that relaxing seems like a new skill you have to acquire.

However, just as you learned where those new buttons are on the remote, or how to turn onthe wipers in your new car, you’ll soon get the hang of relaxing. Session 1 on the audio programis a great introduction to becoming deeply relaxed. It’s like an intro to a hypnotic induction witha posthypnotic cue to enable you to do it faster in the future.

Here are a few more tips that will show you how to get into a relaxed state much easier.

• Choose at least 20 minutes to practice relaxation. If you work away from home, choose a timeafter you get back home. Make sure the kids are asleep; turn off the phone and TV; give thepets a timeout in the basement; put a don’t disturb sign on your door.

• Find a quiet, dark place where you will not be disturbed.

• Practice all the steps in the Relaxation Stage — let your eyelids feel heavy, breathe deeply, release tension from your head to your toe, and create a vivid, tranquil scene that you are partof in your mind.

• Let your thoughts go. Listen to your breath sounds. Try to hear your heart beat.

• Use words to describe the relaxation changes in your body: “My eyes are heavy. My mouth isslightly open. My shoulders are loose and lowered.”Continue until you begin to embody relaxation.

• If you become distracted, return to the tranquil scene in your mind. Imagine it until it is asclear as a picture on your wall.

• Repeat one short phrase slowly, monotonously, and over and over — do not vary it. “I amrelaxed. I am relaxed. I am relaxed. I am relaxed.”

• Hold your state of complete relaxation for at least five solid minutes — no breaks, nointerruptions, no loss of relaxation. Congratulate yourself on being able to achieve what youcouldn’t before. You are already beginning to experience the power of self-hypnosis.

CHAPTER 75 Self-Hypnosis Techniques To Try

Use these strategies to custom-fit your self-hypnosis sessions

For any approach or practice to effectively change people’s life, there has tobe a variety of methods and techniques. This applies whether we’re talkingabout psychotherapy, education or exercise.

After all, the main conveyor of change is the brain, which is different in eachof us. We can’t expect a one-size-fits-all approach to self-hypnosis to work foreveryone. These are five of the most common — and easy to use — self-hypnosis techniques used today.

GUIDED IMAGERY

We’ve talked about imagery a little bit in the Relaxation Stage of self-hypnosisin the last chapter. But, I wanted to give you a bit more detail about how touse guided imagery to deepen your relaxed state during hypnosis. Also, ithelps to reinforce your suggestions during the Suggestion stage.

Here’s an example of how to use guided imagery during self-hypnosis.

• When you are imagining the tranquil scene, take it step by step and payattention to all the sensations and the environment. “I am floating in the boatlooking up to the sky. The water is gently rippling as the boat rocks gentlyfrom side to side. There is only a gentle wind rustling the leaves on the trees. The air smells fresh and clean and I feel completely at peace.”

• At this stage you can begin to introduce your suggestions also using guidedimagery if you want to. So, if you are hypnotizing yourself to deal with a toxicboss at work, you could create the following visual scene for yourself:

“I am approaching the door to the office. With each step I feel calmer andcalmer. I am a butterfly, strong, yet light of feeling. As my boss raises hisvoice, I hold on to that feeling of lightness. My heart is beating at the samepace. My breathing is slow and deep, and my skin is cool. I am completelyrelaxed.”

“The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good.Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.” ~ James Allen

TOE TENSING

Using this method can help you drift into a state of relaxation more easily. While it may seem at odds with what you are trying to achieve, it’s a methodthat gets the thumbs up from the Sleep Disorders Center at the University ofMaryland Medical Center (UMMC).

In this technique, you alternate tensing and relaxing your toes to releasetension from your body. Here are the steps recommended by the UMMC.

• Lie down on your back and close your eyes.

• Feel your toes.

• Now pull all 10 of your toes back toward your face, and slowly, count to 10.

• Now let your toes relax.

• Slowly count to 10 again.

• Then repeat these steps 10 times.

EYE FIXATION

This method will help you to really focus your mind so that your self-hypnosisis more effective. Once you are sitting comfortably in your quiet space, focuson a single spot slightly above your eyes. Look only at that spot.

As you focus on that spot, tell yourself that your eyes are becoming tired andgetting very heavy. As you give yourself this suggestion, you will find it veryhard to keep your eyes open. As your eyelids begin to flutter and you feel adeepening state of relaxation.

Once you are feeling very relaxed you can begin to give suggestions to yoursubconscious mind.

“Only when your consciousness is totally focused on the moment you are in can you receivewhatever gift, lesson, or delight that moment has to offer.” ~ Barbara DeAngelis

THE DIRECT LANGUAGE METHOD

Think of this technique as giving yourself direct commands or instructions tofollow when you’re under self-hypnosis. Use this technique during therelaxation and suggestion stages. Again, keeping it simple, tell yoursubconscious mind the steps you are going to take towards your goal.

Page 36: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

HYPNOSIS, GENIUS AND THEPOWER OF FOCUS

In an article entitled “PhysicalGenius” in The New Yorker,Malcolm Gladwell, renownedauthor of groundbreaking bookssuch as The Tipping Point andBlink, tried to pinpoint why somepeople are so super-gifted at aphysical activity such as Yo-YoMa or Wayne Gretzky.

Ma shared with Gladwell a storyof when he was seven. He wasriding a bus, trying to find asolution to a musical problem. Hevisualized himself playing thepiece of music on the cello. Atseven? While the Golden BearJack Nicklaus revealed that hehand never taken a golf swingthat he hadn’t mentallyrehearsed, frame by frame.

For instance, during the relaxation stage you can tell yourself how torelax: “I am going to close my eyes. My eyelids will feel heavy and my mouth

will relax. Now, my shoulders will fall. All thetension is washing away from my upper body. Iwill breathe deeply, and more deeply and I willmove deeper into a relaxed state….”

During the suggestion stage you can tell yourselfspecific steps on how you plan to reach yourgoal, whether that’s finding a new job, being abetter parent, overcoming a fear of flying, oroverspending. You can also tell yourself aposthypnotic suggestion using this method.“When I fly later this month, I can breathe slowlyand deeply for 20 minutes and be completelyrelaxed.”

At the end of your script, you can reconfirm thebenefits of the process and tell yourself how youwill “awaken” out of your hypnotic state. Here’san example:

“Every time I hypnotize myself I am reaching my goal of being comfortablewith flying. I know this process helps me and I can do it over and over againuntil I reach my goal. Now, I breathe deeply and at the count of 10 I canreturn to a normal state of consciousness and be completely alert.”

“The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deepin our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.” ~ Earl Nightingale

THE INDIRECT LANGUAGE METHOD

During the indirect language technique you use permissive, indirect languageand suggestions, an approach popularized by Erickson. Basically you’resuggesting to yourself that you do something, you are not directing orinstructing your subconscious mind. For instance, you will tell yourself that adesired change can happen: “When I am in a room full of people, I can smileand relax.”

Or, during relaxation you might use an indirect suggestion such as “Imaginethat you are bathed in a beam of white light until you feel allow a sensation of

Page 37: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 36

calm wash over you.” You may also use assertions that address yourproblem (“People like me and want to be around me.”)

The more passive language used during this technique helps you to feel morein control of the process. Some people are more comfortable with using thistechnique when they first start self-hypnosis.

THE STAIRCASE TECHNIQUE

This method, which you’ll also experience in Session #2 of the audio program,is popular in both hypnosis and self-hypnosis, and is a form of guidedimagery. It’s very effective at inducing relaxation so you can enter a hypnoticstate.

Begin, as always, by sitting comfortably in a quiet place where you will not bedisturbed. Breathe deeply and release the tension from your body. Createpicture of a flight of stairs. Tell yourself that you are going down the stairsslowly…step by step…by step…by step, until you reach the bottom.

With each step, you become more and more relaxed so you can reach yoursubconscious during hypnosis. When you reach the bottom and feel completelyrelaxed, you are ready to send your suggestions to your subconscious. Whenyou are finished the Suggestion Stage, slowly ascend the staircase. Tellyourself when you reach the top that you will be “awake,” alert andreinvigorated.

BONUS SELF-HYPNOSIS TECHNIQUE — ACHIEVING RAPID RELAXATIONAfter practicing for a few weeks, you will find that you are able to get into a completely relaxedstate with greater ease. At this point, you may want to speed the process along, which is alsoeasy to do. However, it will not in any way make your self-hypnosis session less effective.

The key is to choose a command that you will use to associate with feeling very relaxed. Whenyou use this word, you will feel all the tension flow from your body, and your breathing willbecome deeper and your limbs will feel weightless. Use words directly related to a relaxed statesuch as “be calm,” or “relax in 1, 2, 3,” or, “relax and release.” Again, practice is everything, sodon’t expect this to necessarily work on the first try (although it can).

CHAPTER 85 Easy Ways To Write Powerful, Personal Hypnosis Scripts

Creating some goal-getting vehicles to reach your subconscious mind

Ready to start making over your subconscious mind? A hypnosis script canhelp. It’s not mandatory; some people respond better from free-flowingsuggestions related to their problems.

But, if you do want to know how to create your own script, I’ve broken it downinto five easy steps. These steps will help you create the most effectivehypnosis script to create a seismic shift in your mind, your daily activities andyour life.

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” ~ Aristotle

1. DIG UP, DUST OFF AND DEFINE YOUR GOALS

Before you even sit down, open a notebook or pick up a pen to write ahypnosis script, you need to better understand your desires, needs and goals.Forget all the stuff that you tell yourself (that society tells you) you shouldwant.

I don’t believe in urging people to sit down, right now, and write down theirgoals. How long did it take you to choose the shirt you’re wearing? How manyhours of reality shows or sports did you watch last night?

Here’s what to do: Put down the book (I know, it’s hard) and find a quiet placewhere you won’t be disturbed for about 20 minutes. Unearth some of thoselong-forgotten desires or goals, or the ones you pushed aside because youthought you couldn’t achieve them or you got complacent.

Just lay back, breathe deeply and see your life pass before you. What’smissing? What would you give anything to have right now and in the future? What would you give up so you could welcome the things you really want intoyour life?

When you’ve asked yourself these few basic questions and found somerevealing answers, then you can write down your clearly defined goals.

Page 39: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 38

2. ADD BENEFITS TO YOUR GOALS

When you start to brush the dust off your desires and needs, and your goalsbecome clearer, it’s time for some reinforcement. Let me ask you: Why didyou go to work today? Or, why did you choose the home you live in?

Every thing we purposefully do in life has a benefit. Maybe you needed moneyto avoid bankruptcy, or to take a vacation. And you chose your home becauseof the view or the price. Most human beings are driven by very basic emotionssuch as fear and pleasure. The benefits you perceive from having each of yourgoals provides the extra motivation you need to achieve them.

So, instead of writing a script that says you can lose weight, and what you aredoing to achieve it, add on the prize at the end of the rainbow: “I can loseweight. I can be stronger and healthier. I can feel great about myself in anysituation.” Notice how the benefits also have a physiological effect. You canfeel the effects of losing weight, you can see it. Read on to find out why thesubconscious mind will love this.

“It is never too late to be who you might have been.” ~George Eliot

3. USE STRONG LANGUAGE

No, not the kind that would offend your mother. These are the most powerfulwords you can ever use. Their power lies in their clarity, their simplicity, andtheir unquestioning presumption of having a purpose and defining a reality.

So what are these all empowering words that will make or break your script?“I am.” “I have.” “I know.” “I choose.” “I believe.” “I do.” “I feel.” “I live.” Saidwith conviction and purpose, and repeated daily in your hypnosis script, yourconscious mind doesn’t stand a chance.

Remember to always use positive words — in the present tense — in yourhypnosis script because they keep you focused on what you want, not whatyou don’t want. This is essential for your hypnosis script to work.

You also want to include motivational suggestions that keep you movingtowards your goal, and that remove obstacles in your life. For instance: “Eachday I walk for 30 minutes at a brisk pace. I lose weight, feel stronger, sleepbetter, and love my body. I feel good when I eat well and exercise. I am livinga fuller life than ever before.”

Anecdote: The Wisdom of SimplicityHow to be a yogi in your world — and write a better hypnosis scriptwhile you’re at it

A recovering alcoholic wrote to Deepak Chopra, bestselling author of over50 books in the field of mind-body healing, asking him for advice on how

to keep his spiritual life simple, and mentioned that the life of a yogi seemed appealing.

Chopra explained that seeking simplicity helps you to stay aware of the decisions you makeand your path in life. He pointed out that a yogi’s life may seem appealing because it throwsoff the temptations and associations of the outside world. However, when you’re seekingsimplicity, he advises that it’s better to be guided by your inner nature instead of expectingit to solve your problems.

Chopra suggested to this simplicity-seeker to try Karma Yoga — living like a yogi, butremaining attached to the outside world. In your life, focus daily on using your thoughts andactions to stabilize the force you nurture during meditation or hypnosis.

Remember this advice, the importance of soul searching, and the Hypnosis K.I.S.S. as youmove closer towards writing the most effective script for healing and elevating your life.

4. REMEMBER THE HYPNOSIS KISS: KEEP IT SHORT AND SIMPLE

Remember that you’re trying to reach your subconscious mind. And what afascinating entity it is. Are you blinking while you’re reading this? Do you feelthirsty? Is your heart beating as you can’t wait to read more of what I have totell you that will positively change your life for good?

All these functions are controlled by your subconscious mind. But, while itcontrols these rather sophisticated functions, it’s not on good terms withreason, logical interpretation, and critical thinking. So don’t get fancy whenwriting your script.

For your script to be really effective, keep your words and sentences short andsimple. You can vary your sentence lengths, but try not to exceed 10 wordsper sentence. Be direct and clear. Leave no room for confusion about what it isyou want.

Also, there’s another benefit of keeping the sentences in your self-hypnosisscript short: you will be reading or listening to your script over and over againto successfully implant it in your subconscious mind as an existing reality.Your subconscious won’t respond well to a sonnet, trust me.

Page 41: THE COMPLETE SELF-HYPNOSIS SYSTEMhypnotism.net/self-hypnosis/selfhypnosis_ebook.pdf · 2010-04-07 · Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 page 1 ˝The greatest discovery of my

Hypnotism.Net | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2010 www.hypnotism.netpage 40

5. BE FLEXIBLE

You’re almost there. You’ve done the mandatory soul searching anddiscovered your true goals and purpose. You’ve made a list or your goals andadded the benefits. You know you have to use short, clear, direct statementsor affirmations that have strong words. Your sentences will vary in length, butno longer than 10 words. Now, you’re ready.

Begin to write your self-hypnosis script. Review it. How does it make you feel? Can you easily repeat it over and over again? Does it capture your desires, your goals, and the reality you want to give to your subconscious mind? If so,good for you.

If not, try again until it moves you. You won’t just know it, you’ll feel it. Onceyou are in a relaxed state at the beginning of your hypnosis session, you canstart to read or listen to your script and visualize the goals you have and thelife that you are creating.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — A Little Morning Practice To Start Your DayOff Right

Now that you know how to write a script, you’re going to take advantage of the flexibility andadaptability of self-hypnosis.

•Use the above tips to create your first script (or you can use one of the templates you’ll find inthe next chapter). Relate the script to a particular daily challenge you face. Take about 20minutes to write it.

• Now record your script and include a relevant post-hypnotic suggestion.

• Pick a morning to practice using your script during a hypnosis session before you leave yourhouse. Choose a quiet area where you will not be disturbed. Keep the TV off, boil the kettlelater…you get the point.

• Start your session using your script. Remember, you’re focusing on one goal only and itsbenefits.

• End your session, and go about your day.

CHAPTER 95 Short Scripts To Get You Started With Self-Hypnosis

“Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possiblefor your life.” ~ Les Brown, author motivational speaker

I like to think of scripts as road maps helping you along the highway to yoursubconscious mind. Maps provide a general route for you to get where you’regoing, as hypnosis scripts do. As you become more familiar with the terrain, you start to find shortcuts, or diverting, relaxing routes and you modify yourjourney. It’s the same approach you can take to using self-hypnosis scripts.

I’ve provided five templates or maps to get you started. Again, you shouldtake the time to create your own scripts once you have dug up and definedthose goals, and thought about the rewards or benefits of reaching them. Thepoint of self-hypnosis is for you to be completely in charge of the process ofmental — and life — change that you’re about to experience.

But, sometimes we all need a little help, especially when we’re just learningsomething new. The scripts here are powerful accompaniments to the audioprogram, which you’ll also use when you create your own scripts.

Before using any of the hypnosis scripts, create the perfect image or scenariofor the goal you are trying to reach. For instance, if you’re trying to pictureyour “ideal” body, envision every small detail before you begin to use thescript. From your newly square shoulders, to your taut arms, ripped stomach, tight butt, and so on.

Imagine how you feel as well with each scenario to make the image evenmore powerful and meaningful. Be specific as much as possible in your image(I am X pounds is better than I am slim). So, here we go.

TODAY’S SELF-HYPNOSIS ACTION PLAN — PRACTICING PATIENCE, ANOTHERSELF-HYPNOSIS ESSENTIAL

You may start seeing amazing results in the first self-hypnosis session, or it may take you afew weeks of practice. Don’t rush the process. Remember, if you’re willing to wait at adrive-thru for 15 or 20 minutes, you should be committed to spending as much time onputting the necessary steps into place to grow, evolve and get the life you want.

Here are a few tips on practicing patience when customizing your script:

• Write your script when you have time, not when you are in a rush.

• Write your script when you feel enthused by the process, not when you’d just rather “getit over with.”

• Keep your mind open; let ideas and suggestions flow freely to you.• Know that anything positive goes; there’s nothing to feel embarrassed about.

• If you need to take a break then do so and come back and finish later when you arerefreshed.

• Take the time to record your script. I strongly believe in recording your script when youfirst start hypnosis. If you try to memorize it (unless it’s very short) you may be focusingmore on trying to recall it during your session, than being in a suggestible state to acceptyour suggestions. That’s a distraction; which is a no-no during self-hypnosis.

Just take a few minutes to record your script in a slow, soothing, monotonous voice. It willbe worth it in the end when you start living the life you’ve always wanted.

A FINAL WORDSelf-hypnosis — Your New Daily Habit To Finding Lasting Change,

Excellence and Fulfillment In Your Life

As you begin to practice self-hypnosis on a daily basis, you’re going to startnoticing things you never noticed before. Not just that hypnosis is easy for youto do. Instead, these are going to be positive and self-empowering messagesthat you never knew existed in you. Making choices that bring you closer toyour goal hour after hour, day after day will be second nature.

That doesn’t mean you should be comfortable. Self-hypnosis is a process ofgrowth and elevation. Keep your momentum going. Redefine your goals asyou go along, and invite new, more wonderful experiences into your life. Findthe joy and wonder in discovering traits you thought you didn’t have. Thisjourney you’re on isn’t about becoming successful. It’s not an end target, likehaving a million dollars in the bank. It’s living your life each day to the fullest.

But, there’s something else I haven’t mentioned to you yet, and I wouldn’twant you to go away without this one piece of information:

As hypnosis becomes a routine part of your life you will notice the worldresponding to your belief, your desires, your needs, your goals and

your will. Self-hypnosis puts you on auto-pilot to achieve anything and be a great success at it.

You will begin to see and live the truth of the saying by the very wiseAnonymous, “There is no greater force than the force of a man determined torise.” If you’ve been seeing life as your Gibraltar, then the small changes youmake everyday in your subconscious mind is the water that will split that rockinto two to release a flood of change in your life.

Water doesn’t stop to think about its power. It just exists. It’s time for you toget comfortable with the power and success that you have and that you will, without question, develop and strengthen with self-hypnosis.

Welcome positive power, success, growth and contentment into your life andknow that you deserve them. Use them to bring positive, wonderful results foryourself and your loved ones — they deserve it. Your past does not matter. The only thing that matters is what you can do today…at this very moment…to live the life you’ve always wanted.

“Become the change you want to see in the world.” ~ Gandhi
