If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them

because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone is kind to you, return the kindness,

not because you want more of their favors, but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you.

Getting ready for Pesach requires a lot of hard work, and that means you need all the energy you can get. Here are some tips to boost your energy levels.

Get enough sleepA good night’s rest has far reaching benefits. But when it comes to energy it is essential to get proper sleep. Firstly, don’t go to sleep late. Preferably, you should push off those chores that will keep you up for the next day, since you’ll be better at what you do when you’re properly rested. Having a regular and consistent sleep cycle will make your sleep more efficient, as it will improve your sleep quality. Getting enough sleep is also vital. Try to get about eight hours of shut-eye or whatever you feel you need for your body to function optimally.

DietWe all know how vital food is for our energy levels. But it’s the types of foods you eat and the types of foods you avoid that can make all the difference.

1. Avoid sugars and refined carbohydrates. One major source of sugar is sweet drinks, even naturally sweet fruit juices. Exchange these for water. Although sugar will give you energy, this energy is very short-lived. Sugar and carbohydrates give us fast energy but this surge in energy is followed by a drop, and we quickly find ourselves gravitating to some more sweet stuff, creating a vicious cycle. What we really need is steady and balanced energy.

2. Eat protein. Protein is the best source for stable and balanced energy. Proteins are composed of many different amino acids. Each amino acid has its own vital function in the body, and so, by choosing a well-balanced source of protein like animal protein or eggs, you are ensuring good levels of the essential

amino acids that are vital for good energy and brain function.

3. Eat breakfast. Starting out the day right is essential for your energy levels. Skipping breakfast may cause you to make bad decisions in your food choices later on.

ExerciseExercise is crucial for good health and this holds true for your energy levels as well. Although after doing exercise you may initially feel exhausted, in the long run it will make feel more refreshed and energized. Exercise actually helps your body use the energy more efficiently. It helps get blood sugar into our cells where it can then be used for energy.

A simple, yet filling side dish...sautéed cabbage has been a staple at dinner tables for generations. With just three ingredients, make this easy side dish for your next meal.

Ingredients:

1 Bag green shredded cabbage

3 Tablespoons oil

1 Medium onion (diced)

Salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Heat up oil a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

2. Add onion and sauté for 5 min.

3. Add the cabbage, salt and pepper.

4. Stir occasionally and cook until mostly wilted, about 10 minutes.

5. Turn the heat down to medium-low and let cook, stirring frequently, until cabbage is starting to caramelize (brown), about 10 minutes.
