Wonder and Glory!
Often the greatest gifts come in the
smallest of packages. Behold a
teenaged virgin mother along with her
husband gazing upon their newborn
son. Mild He sleeps in His mother’s arms – this Greatest
Gift ever – wrapped snug and small in swaddling clothes!
Selah – Pause. Be still. Ponder. Wonder.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we
beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the
Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
This gift, though small, is massive! This gift is God
Himself. He has humbled Himself to become human – fully
God and fully Man. This would be akin to you or me
becoming a lowly slug slowly leaving a trail of slime on the
sidewalk. “I wonder as I wonder.” How can this be? God
Almighty drastically reduced into the smallest of packages –
a helpless infant born to poor parents forced to dwell in a
shepherds’ cave for the night. “I wonder as I wonder.”
Come and behold Him. Come and behold this Wonder of
wonders! When you do, you behold the Glory of God!
God is dwelling among us. He is glorious – full of grace
and full of truth. O, the Glory of it all! Wonder and Glory!
Would you join me this season in wonder and glory?
Would you slow everything down to bow again at the
manger in Bethlehem and adore this child born for you?
We must!
Sunday morning we shall attempt to do just this as our multi
-generational choir brings us “Wonder and Glory: A
Worship Experience for Christmas”. I encourage you to
consider and act upon the following:
1) Make every effort to be present – not merely in body
but in spirit. God calls us to meet Him at the manger
with hearts prepared to encounter Jesus afresh and to
worship.
2) Be praying for Brother Tim and all our musicians and
singers that they will be God’s unhindered messengers
for His glory Sunday morning.
3) Extend another invitation to your “one” to join you
and us for this magnificent experience.
Can’t wait for Sunday!

LeaderTreks Adventure Camp It’s days and nights spent in the outdoors learning what it
means to take risks, to truly step outside of your comfort
zone, and ultimately how to follow Jesus with your whole
heart. You’ll engage in adventure activities such as moun-
tain biking, kayaking, challenge course, camping, back-
packing along with a day of service, all while learning
what it means to be a daring disciple of Jesus. The camp
date is July 15-21, 2018 in Manchester, Kentucky for 6th-
12th grade students. The cost is $369 per person and in-
cludes all meals, all camping and adventure gear except
sleeping bag and sleeping pad, LeaderTreks staff, and
books.
An Interest Meeting will be Sunday, January 7 after the
Morning Worship Service in the Ministry Center.
Students will need a bus waiver and to bring a $10 gift
card in a wrapped box or an envelope for the Dirty Santa
game. Supper will be provided for students.
