CICADA Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Service

The FASD Service offers multidisciplinary assessment for children and young people with suspected FASD. Comprehensive medical, developmental and psychological assessment is provided, as well as recommendations for support and intervention. Clinics are run with a multidisciplinary team of paediatricians, psychologists, speech and occupational therapists.Referrals are accepted from across NSW by a GP or other medical specialist.

CICADA Family Service

The Family Service supports the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families who have a parent with a drug and alcohol history. Clinics are run with a multidisciplinary team including a paediatrician and psychologist who provide assessment, management and intervention for a variety of concerns including:

• Physical health and nutrition• Growth and development• Sleep difficulties• Attention and learning difficulties • Mood problems• Anxiety• Trauma• Family relationshipsReferrals can be made by a parent, GP, adult drug and alcohol worker or other service providers involved with the family.

CICADA Adolescent Service

The Adolescent Service is for young people presenting to the Hospital with alcohol or drug use, abuse or dependence. Young people may be seen when they present to the Emergency Department, if they are admitted to the wards or as an outpatient. The clinics are run with a multidisciplinary team including a paediatrician and psychologist and offer adolescent health assessment, drug and alcohol assessment and intervention.The service works with the young person individually but also with their families or carers.Referrals are accepted from within or outside the hospital with a medical referral.
