Reflection: One of the simplest ways to stop abortion is to go to
the facilities where the abortions happen and talk with the women
who are walking in. “Sidewalk counseling” is legal in every state
and has saved countless lives. Training is available from pro-life
organizations. Prayer: Lord, may You give all sidewalk counse-
lors grace and wisdom, patience and perseverance. Save many
lives and souls through their loving intervention.-Fr. Frank Pavone

mark envelope: MERTZ FAMILY HOUSE FIRE. The family
is very grateful for prayers right now as they cope with this trau-
matic experience. Thank you for your assistance and prayers.

My Fellow Parishioners,
After many years of prayer and discernment, I applied and have been accepted into Formation
for the Diaconate in the Diocese of Albany.
Since my journey with the Extraordinary Form community began in 2001, I have made many
friends, formed significant relationships, and enhanced my own faith. Over the years, I have
been happy to take on many and varied responsibilities, both publicly and behind the scenes.
However, when I formally begin the formation program in September, I will need to step down
from those responsibilities. Aspirants and Candidates for Ordination to the Diaconate are asked
to withdraw from all parish and other ministries during formation so that they may better focus
on the formation process.
Therefore, I would like to ask each one of you to contemplate your role in this community, and
consider a more active participation in our parish life. We will need assistance in the area of
serving at the altar and mentoring our younger servers, as well as setting up for Sunday Mass.
Our choir is in need of an increased membership dedicated to working with our Choir Master to
enhance our Liturgies with sacred music. Important as well, is the call for all to collaborate with
the Pastor and other members of the parish staff, to articulate a vision for the future, and to be
dedicated to making that vision a reality.
I am so grateful for your support, and continued prayers.
Sincerely,
Jim Agnew
