A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family,
Thank you to everyone who made Fr. Ruben's
going away and thanks party so tremendous. I was
absolutely emotionally drained in such a joyful
way. We have all been so blessed! Fr. Ruben was
different already, becoming a pastor. He carried
himself with confidence and articulated his heart
in two languages in a way I will never forget.
This weekend, I am grateful to Fr. Tim Seigel,
Fr. Carl Beekman and Fr. Bob Camacho for cover-
ing Masses. I am witnessing a wedding of a bride I
have known for 20 years and the 25th ordination
anniversary of a buddy from seminary in Iowa. I
really can use a break to get through the summer of
Masses on my own. Frs. Beekman, Seigel, Bales
and Juan are backing me up doing weekday Mass-
es this summer. I am very grateful for their support.
My hope is to get our next priest by Labor Day.
Good things happen for those who wait!
Have a Blessed Week! Father Paul

Mobile Food Pantry Distribution Are you hungry? If you don’t have enough to eat, Northern
Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry can help. The Catholic
Order of Foresters are sponsoring a Mobile Food Truck
distribution of nutritious food to low-income neighbors in
need on Saturday, June 24, from 9 AM to 11 AM at St.
Mary’s Church, 1407 N. Richmond Rd. (Rt. 31), McHenry.
Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis,
while supplies last. Please bring your own bags or boxes.
Your Gifts Make a Difference A local family of five has been struggling to make ends
meet due to the mom's health struggles during a recent
pregnancy. To compound their struggles, the dad lost his
job due to excessive absences to care
for his wife and take her to physician's
appointments. With shut-off notices for
gas and water, no gas for their car and
bare cupboards, the family was in des-
perate need of help. Members of the St. Vincent de Paul
Society visited the family with bags of food, a tank of gas,
an empathetic ear and supportive prayers. Vincentians also
assisted by making past due payments to avoid shutoff
of utilities. Thanks to your generosity, this family is back
on its feet. "Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed,
for he shares his bread with the poor." Proverbs 22:9
“Turn Out for Tim” Fundraiser A fundraiser will be held to benefit Tim D’Angelo’s fight
against cancer on Saturday, June 24, 5 to 9 PM in Sherry

been an active member of our parish for many years. Tim
is fighting a difficult cancer and needs financial support
to do so. Please come out on June 24th and help him
out. Tickets are $20/adult; $10/child (10 and under are
free) which include a meal of hot dogs, brats, chips, gua-
camole, chips and pop. There will be raffles, 50/50 raffle
and silent auctions featuring Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls
and Bears tickets and many more items. All proceeds go
to benefit Tim D’Angelo’s fight against cancer. For tickets
call Joe D’Angelo at 815-353-4770. You can also go
online to support Tim by bidding on sport items via an on-
line auction at http://sideline.gesture.com

Nominate a Catholic Woman of Inspiration Every year, each parish is given the opportunity to honor a
faith-filled woman who gives outstanding volunteer ser-
vice to the parish and community. We all know women
who serve generously; perhaps the woman who sits next
to you at Mass or works alongside you in one of the min-
istries here at Holy Apostles or in the community at
large. She is often the face you see quietly working be-
hind the scenes. This is your chance to recognize her
gifts and talents that she so humbly shares. Nomination
forms are available at the Information Center and Parish
Office. Nominations must be returned to the Parish Of-
fice or HALO mailbox by June 18. The McHenry Deanery
Council of Catholic Women will honor all the deanery
nominees on Sunday, September 17, at a banquet at St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Center, Crystal Lake. Ticket
