From the Director’s Desk . . .

It is hard to believe the holiday season is upon us. What a year of challenges for all believers. The up side to all of this is that God is still sovereign, faithful, loving, kind and has promised to watch over us.

Isaiah 26:3-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

Most of us are finding it hard to believe that our country has embraced a social issue and has changed the way our nation looks at one of God’s greatest gifts, that being marriage. Our nation’s leaders may redefine what a legal marriage is, but God himself defined marriage for us. So, our biblical understanding of what marriage is will not change.

John 14: 1-4 The Message (MSG)

“Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I’m taking.”

During this season where we celebrate the birth of the Christ, let us remember that He is coming again and until then we are to trust in the Lord with all our heart. We must continue to live our lives in His service sharing the good news to all. We must pray for our country to turn back to the Lord God Almighty. May God continue to bless, keep and guide us all as we seek to serve Him in all things.

Dr. K.

Hustle, bustle, timelines and plans are the theme of the holidays for most of us. It takes determined discipline to refrain from excessive busyness and over commitment. Hopefully we ask the LORD where He would have us invest our

time. Choosing the very best over the moderately good things to give ourselves to is a challenge every year. What happens when we've done all those things

and then the plans seem to fall apart for that perfectly planned service or the lovingly prepared meal? We can remember that broken organ a hundred years ago in the Austrian Alps. There would be no grand tunes played that Christmas Eve, but there would be voices raised to glorify our heavenly Father. An impromptu song about our precious Lord's birth was sung that night, and countless times in the years since. So, let's choose to sing out the gospel this season, whether everything goes as planned or not. Your voice declaring the gospel message will be greatly magnified in the middle of God’s plan!

"Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight.

Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing Alleluia. Christ the Savior is born; CHRIST THE SAVIOR IS BORN."

GOD BLESS YOU! Cheryl

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

We want to share with you a success story of one of our military chaplain families. Stephanie is the daughter of Chaplain (LTC) Grant and Margaret Johnson who are stationed at Ft Hood Texas in the US Army. She is now entering into full-time missionary ministry to the military youth stationed overseas.

I grew up as a “military brat.” I started Club Beyond in the 7th grade, and in the 10th grade I submitted my life to Christ at a summer camp.

After many years of growing from that summer camp in 10th grade, the Lord has planted an indescribable desire in me to join Club Beyond staff. I first felt this desire after I moved to Germany and began to volunteer with Club Beyond.

While living in Heidelberg, I was a leader for: weekly youth meetings, the European-wide Winter Blitz retreat, and the Czech Republic Summer Service project. At Winter Blitz, the teens spent their days outdoors, and at night we gathered to hear a message. Over 450 military teens and adults crowded into a room to hear about God and His never-ending love. We then separated into small groups and discussed the message.

My call was confirmed one evening as a teen approached me, looking for answers to difficult questions. She told me a family member had extreme health problems, and some family members had experienced physical abuse. The Holy Spirit answered through me as I told her of the Heavenly Father who loves her DEEPLY and would never treat her as anything less than a Princess. I prayed over her, and then referred her to a Chaplain who was on the premises. An overwhelming compassion rushed over me as God spoke to me, “This is where I created you to be.”

The seed God planted in me will grow continually as I begin this journey to join Club Beyond staff. These teens’ lives change constantly, and Club Beyond provides a steady rock for them. I am so THRILLED to serve in the ministry that brought me to Christ! I cannot wait to walk alongside of these teens and show them the extreme love of the Lord!

Ephesians 3:20 – He can do IMMEASURABLY more than we can ask or imagine In Christ's love, Stephanie Johnson Stephanie has been accepted to the Club Beyond ministry team and is raising her missionary support money now in order to meet her 3-5 year obligation to work overseas. We usually would not do this but if you want to support this beautiful Christian young woman and support our military youth as well follow these steps:

1. Go to: www.giving.younglife.org 2. Click Young Life Area Ministry 3. Click on Search Area Number 4. Enter my area account number: X9155/Johnson You can choose to give a monthly or a one-time gift.

A Farewell Address From the Associate Endorser For Mili tary Ministries

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 Today, Sept. 27, 2013 was my last day of work with CFGC as an Associate Endorser. Annette and I have accepted assignment with Jewish Voice Ministries International to serve as directors for their operations in southern Africa. We will soon be moving to the nation of Zimbabwe where I have committed to as long as five years. Our first assignment will be to the tribe of the Lemba, a tribe of people exceptionally open to the Gospel of Jesus. This goodbye is bittersweet. We are very excited about our new assignment: however, we are leaving an organization of people we love dearly. CFGC first endorsed me in 1991. I first met Jim in 1982, and Klon and I have been friends for better than a decade. It has also been an unrivaled pleasure working with and serving each and every one of you over the last two and a half years. Jesus’ message to us above underlies the importance of His people being focused on reaching the lost. It also speaks of the missionary calling of each of us who are in Messiah. Finally, He also promises He will be with us until the end. If there is any encouragement I can leave you it is this: Jesus loves you, is not surprised by the trials we see in our near future, and has called each of us for such a time as this. Stay the course and look for His coming. While I am leaving you in one sense, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. May God’s most precious blessings be yours.

Shalom! John
