Eugen Antalovsky is CEO of europaforum wien – Centre for Urban

Dialogue and European Policy. He is active as senior advisor,

moderator and business consultant. His work focuses on European

urban development, integration and diversity policy, European

democracy, participation models and metropolitan governance,

international urban policy, social housing, city marketing and city-

tourism. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as managing director of the

transnational consortium centrope (Central European Region). From

2007 to 2008 he was visiting professor for urban development and

urban management in the European context at Kassel University

(Germany). Since 2014 he is member of the international advisory

board of the 4th Regional Plan of the Regional Plan Association for

the three state-region New York-New Jersey-Connecticut.

Martin is a landscape architect, and the Founder and Chairman of

reSITE. At reSITE, Martin leads the team with strategy, fundraising

and overall goals while providing creative and program direction

for current and future reSITE projects. As a former Associate at W

Architecture in New York City, Martin led multi-disciplinary teams

on complex landscape projects all over the globe, collaborating on

urban waterfronts, parks, plazas and universities in the United States,

Saudi Arabia, China, United Arab Emirates, Haiti, Canada, Europe

and Mexico. He is committed to a human-centered design approach

that focuses on quality urban investments that simultaneously benefi t

ecology, economy and culture for the next generation of urban

dwellers.

John established the Development Advisory Services group at

Colliers aft er working as a successful commercial investment broker

in Poland for over 10 years, leading and/or participating in property

transactions in Poland with a combined capital value of nearly € 500

million. With an extensive background in economic development

and urban design in such diverse markets as Chicago, New York,

Barcelona and Warsaw, he earned a master’s degree in city planning

at the University of Illinois and MBA at the Kellogg School at

Northwestern University.

Gordon Black is the Senior Managing Director of Heitman’s

European Private Real Estate Equity group and an equity owner of

the fi rm. He is a member of Heitman’s Executive Committee, Board

of Managers and European Investment Committee. Since 1995,

Gordon has had primary responsibility for Heitman’s investment

activities in Europe. Heitman has participated in European real estate

transactions totaling over €6 billion to date, and Gordon has been

involved in global acquisition and disposition activity totaling just

under €8 billion. Gordon received a BA in Finance from Michigan

State University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the

Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.

Based in London and Amsterdam, Richard joined PropertyEU in

2012 as Associate Publisher and Head of PropertyEU Investment

Briefi ngs, a series of events focused on sharing knowledge and

highlighting expertise on diff erent regions, topics and sectors across

Europe. Richard also leads PropertyTV, creating dedicated video

news, interviews and content. He started his career at Euromoney

Institutional Investor where he worked for 10 years throughout the

1990’s and subsequently worked with companies including Financial

Times Business and as Managing Director of Eurozone Advisors,

before joining PropertyEU aft er 6 years as Publisher at Property

Investor Europe. Richard creates and moderates events across Europe

and recently launched a new series bringing European real estate to

investors in the USA and China.

A native New Yorker, Christopher Choa is based in London and

leads the Cities practice for AECOM. He speaks frequently about

urban performance and works with city and national governments

to develop regional-scale strategies. A graduate of both Harvard

and Yale, Christopher serves on the UK executive board of the

Urban Land Institute and is on the external advisory board for

the Sustainable Urban Development program at Oxford. He is an

appointed advisor to the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Delivery

Board.

H. J.Brun is the owner and manager of Cornerstone Real Estate

AG. Cornerstone provides institutional and private investors with

bespoke investment opportunities. Mr. Brun originally trained as a

chartered accountant and holds a degree from the Lucerne University

of Applied Sciences and Arts. In 1985 he joined the Marc Rich Group

as a trainee in the fi nance department. Subsequently he became

assistant to the Group Controller and later joined the real estate

unit. In 1997 he became head of real estate. From 2007 to 2008 he

was CEO of the Marc Rich Group. Mr. Brun has over twenty years of

experience in the property sector. He was involved in a broad range

of projects, including hotels, shopping malls, residential and offi ce

buildings in numerous countries such as Spain, Portugal, France,

Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania.

Greg Clark is ULI Europe Senior Fellow where he builds intelligence

on the dynamic trends between cities, investors, and urban

development. In addition to his work for ULI he is also Chairman,

OECD LEED Forum on Local Development and Investment

Strategies. Author of ten books and numerous reports on cities,

investment and development issues, he has advised on national

policies in UK, Ireland, Canada, China, India, Colombia, Sri Lanka,

South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, Slovakia, and Latvia. He regularly

chairs summits and congresses.

Paweł Dębowski is a partner and Chairman of the European Real

Estate Group at Dentons. Paweł is one of the most widely recognized

and respected real estate M&A and investment professionals in Po-

land and Central & Eastern Europe. In professional practice for more

than twenty years, he was involved in structuring real estate invest-

ments in Poland back in the early days of the free market economy.

Paweł’s client base includes major international investors, developers,

asset managers, lenders and construction companies, for whom he

handles their M&A and fi nance transactions mainly in the offi ce, re-

tail and hospitality sectors across the region. Chambers Europe legal

directory rates him as a Band Star, the only such real estate lawyer in

Poland, and lauds him as “a brand of his own.” He is singled out as

“a very technical, robust lawyer,” whose “reputation speaks for itself.”

Henry is the Financial Times Central Europe Correspondent, based

in Warsaw. He covers Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and the

wider CEE region for the world’s most trusted fi nancial newspaper.

Henry writes across the unfolding political, economic and business

stories, delivering a global perspective on one of the world’s fastest-

developing and most interesting regions. He has interviewed Donald

Tusk, Andrzej Duda, Robert Fico and Andrej Kiska and a range of

prominent correspondents and observers. Previously the FT’s award-

winning Motor Industry Correspondent, Henry joined the paper

Robert Dobrzycki set up Panattoni Europe’s headquarters for the

CEE region in Poland in 2005. As CEO Europe, he is responsible

for operations in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and

Romania. Under his direction, the company has developed over 3.3

million sqm of warehouse and industrial space. Robert Dobrzycki

started his career with Menard Doswell & Co., an industrial

real estate development company. His professional life has been

always associated with the industrial real estate market in Poland

and Central Europe. He is a Warsaw University graduate with a

Master Degree in Business Management. Following the company’s

establishment in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany,

Panattoni has opened another offi ce in Bucharest, Romania.

Ioannis Ganos joined Bluehouse in 2004 and is responsible for

sourcing, structuring and executing acquisitions and exits in CEE

and SEE. He previously worked as a Real Estate Associate for the

Technical Olympic Group, a major Athens Stock Exchange listed

Greek construction and real estate conglomerate including a

NYSE listed subsidiary. He is a chartered surveyor (MRICS) and is

Chairman of the Board of the RICS Hellas. He is also a member of

the Executive Committee of ULI Greece. Ioannis Ganos holds

a B.Sc. degree in Economic and Regional Development from

Panteion University and an M.Sc. degree in Real Estate Economics

and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political

Science. He is a graduate of the PDC in Innovations in Real Estate

Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sergiusz Gniakecki graduated in Building Engineering from Gdansk

University of Technology in 1989. He then founded construction

company ALLCON, which in 1995 became a group of three sister-

fi rms: Allcon Budownictwo (general contractor), Allcon Osiedla

(residential developer) and Allcon Investment (commercial projects).

Sergiusz became responsible for the commercial company and under

his stewardship Allcon Investment has become one of the most

important local offi ce developers, a pioneer in Tricity offi ce parks and

“built to suit” schemes. Th e company’s portfolio also includes hotel

and retail projects. He has previously been the President of Gdańsk

Chamber of Commerce and an advisor of the economic chamber

of Gdańsk University of Technology and Pomeranian Science &

Technology Park.

Damian is a Regional Director for Colliers International and Head of

EMEA Research. He has worked within the real estate profession for

20 years, working from bases in London, Dubai, Prague and Helsinki.

Previously he was with CB Richard Ellis where he led emerging

market research in MENA and CEE for 3 years, before joining

Colliers in 2009 as head of Eastern European Research. He also

acted as Visiting Lecturer for the Bartlett School, University College

London, where he ran the European Property Studies element of the

MSc in European Property Development and Planning. In addition

to his knowledge of the EMEA property market and industry,

Damian has a strong track record in emerging market research and

consultancy. He has a deep understanding of European investment

markets and other areas such as ‘Outsourcing and Off shoring’.

Dr. Walter Hampel is Managing Director for Deutsche

Pfandbriefb ank AG and is based in Munich, dealing with clients

active in the CEE Markets, as well as having responsibility for

Austria. Walter has been active in the CEE property markets for more

than twenty years, including seven years based in Prague between

1995 and 2001 as a real estate lender for Austrian and German banks.

pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefb ank is a leading European fi nancier for

commercial real estate investments and public investment projects. It

is the largest issuer of Pfandbriefe and an important issuer of covered

bonds in Europe. Deutsche Pfandbriefb ank AG is listed on the

Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Brian Jenkins joined Blackstone Partners in 2013 to direct the King

Street Retail portfolio in Poland & CEE for Multi Corporation.

He was previously with Simon Property Group as Regional Vice

President directing the New England Mall portfolio and prior to this

role, Executive Vice President of Development for Rouse Properties,

a newly formed REIT comprised of former GGP properties. He

is a former Partner with AIG/Lincoln and a founder of TriGranit

Development Corporation. Over his 30-year career in the real

estate industry, he has directed a wide spectrum of real estate

activities including property management, leasing, site acquisition

and development, with a greater emphasis on asset management,

refi nancing and repositioning of retail and offi ce properties.

Xavier Jongen MD, European Residential InvestmentsCatella Real EstateMaastricht

Xavier Jongen’s team at Catella delivers alpha investment strategies at

a European level combining in one fund simultaneous investments

in various low-correlated housing and student housing markets.

Xavier joined Catella from Bouwfonds IM, where he and his team

conceptualised and managed three pan-European residential funds

of about 1.5 bn EUR equity. He started analysing housing markets

with the privatisation of the socialist housing stock aft er the fall

of the Berlin wall, both for Worldbank/IMF structural adjustment

programmes and for institutional investors. In parallel, Xavier

worked from 1996-2003 as external speaker for the European

Commission in Brussels. Xavier is tutor and module leader for the

Reading University IPF Diploma since 2006.

Maciej runs commercial development projects for Xcity Investment,

the real estate division of Grupa PKP, the Polish state railways

company. Before his appointment to this position he headed the

Investment Department of PKP S.A. Maciej is an expert in the

fi eld of investment analysis, particularly concerning real estate

investments and restructuring. A guiding principle for Maciej is to

create appealing public spaces from the untapped potential of the

sites owned by the company in the centres of Polish towns and cities.

He is a member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and

Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Brian Klinksiek is a Senior Vice President and Director of European

Investment Research, and an equity owner of the fi rm. Brian is

responsible for analysis of all property types in Europe, researching

trends in macroeconomics, capital markets and property market

fundamentals in order to form investment strategies. He participates

in acquisition, asset management, and disposition decisions

involving European properties. Brian received a BA with honors and

distinction from Stanford University and an MBA with high honors

in fi nance and economics from the Booth School of Business at the

University of Chicago.

Griffi n RE is a Warsaw-based property investment platform with

app. EUR 3,6 bln of assets under management. Prior to founding the

business, Przemek was a Managing Director and Partner of TDA

Capital Partners (previously Templeton Direct Advisors) and the

manager of Emerging Europe Private Equity Funds. Before that, he

held a number of senior positions at Bank Handlowy w Warszawie

S.A. (now Citibank Handlowy), including: Member of Management

Committee, Member of Credit Committee and Chairman of

Investment Committee. Przemek is an alumnus of the Law faculty

at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He holds a Master of

Science degree in Law (summa cum laude).

Markus has 18 years experience in banking and for more than

15 years has been a leading real estate fi nancier in CEE, principally

with RHEINHYP and EUROHYPO. In 1997 he set up RHEINHYP’s

CEE property lending division, and in 2001 he helped to set up its US

operations. In 2002 Markus took over EUROHYPO’s CEE division,

including Austria, and served as Head of CEE & Northern Europe

and Israel from 2007 to 2012. During this time he sourced ca. EUR

10bln of CRE debt, with the largest refi nancing in CEE of approx.

EUR 750mln. He has chaired ULI’s CEE chapter and was active in

ULI Germany. In 2012 Markus became a partner in SIMRES,

a Luxembourg based real estate private equity advisory boutique.

During his three terms as mayor of Pittsburgh, Tom Murphy initiated

a public/private partnership strategy that leveraged more than $4.5

billion in economic development in the city and developed strategic

partnerships to transform more than 1,000 acres of abandoned

industrial properties into new commercial, residential, retail and

public uses. He also oversaw the development of more than 25

miles of new riverfront trails and parks. Since joining ULI, Murphy

has served on many Advisory Services panels, including panels

in Moscow and Hong Kong, Baltimore, Chicago, and other U.S.

cities. Additionally, Murphy served as ULI’s Gulf Coast liaison aft er

Hurricane Katrina, working on rebuilding strategies with leaders in

the Gulf Coast areas of Mississippi and Alabama.

Edward Lucas is a senior editor at Th e Economist, responsible for

coverage of energy, commodities and natural resources. He is also

a senior vice-president at the Center for European Policy Analysis

(CEPA), a Washington DC think-tank. His expertise includes energy,

cyber-security, espionage, Russian foreign and security policy and the

politics and economics of Eastern Europe. He has covered the region

for Th e Economist for 20 years.

Jan Motz, who has 30 years of experience on the Polish property

market, was co-founder of Capital Park S.A. in 2003. Since then the

company has managed a portfolio of over 75 projects in 37 cities

totalling more than 250,000 sqm. Jan has also held several leading

positions in various companies, including: Communication One,

owner of Call Center Poland; Euro RSCG; Real Management, a real

estate investment company; Development Inc., active in the US

market. He went to the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).

Ewa Parys joined AEW Europe in 2014 and is based in Warsaw.

Ewa is responsible for 3 countries in the region: Poland, Romania

and Czech Republic, and reports to Stephan Boenning, Head of

Germany and Central Europe. Ewa has broad asset management

and acquisition experience; prior to AEW Europe, she worked at

Atrium Real Estate Poland (Gazit-Globe Group) and was responsible

for more than 20 retail assets. At Atrium she also managed a €1bn+

portfolio, located in Poland and Latvia. Before Atrium, Ewa worked

as Head of the Leasing Department and Centre Director for Meinl

European Land and at Foras Holding A/S. She is a graduate of

Warsaw University, Kozminski University and AGH Kraków.

Leszek Sikora has been active on the Polish retail development

market since 1999, primarily with Metro AG, ExxonMobil Poland

and Clairmont Global. He joined ECE Projektmanagement in

2005 as development manager, then from June 2011 till September

2013 he was head of development for Poland and proxy. Currently

Mr. Sikora is managing director and member of the board of ECE

Projektmanagement Polska. His interests include skiing, water sports

and breeding of bees. ECE Projektmanagement is European market

leader in the city centre shopping centre sector, active in 14 countries,

with 196 managed shopping centres. In all ECE centres, approx.

21,000 retail businesses generate 23 billion euros in annual sales on

an overall sales area of more than 7.2 million sqm.

Doris Pittlinger joined Invesco Real Estate (IRE) in 1991 and is the

head of the European Fund Management team, which comprises of

15 fund managers based in the UK, Germany and France. She is a

member of IRE’s European Executive Committee and the Investment

Committee. Doris started her career in 1989 and has extensive

experience in cross-border real estate investment management and

asset management in both Western and Central & Eastern Europe.

She has previously managed various funds for institutional investors

with investment volumes of c.€1bn. Prior to joining IRE, Doris was

an asset manager for international clients at Müller International

Group. Doris’s professional and educational qualifi cations include

Immobilienfachwirtin and Immobilienökonom ebs. She is also a

Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Richard is Founder & Editor of Poland Today, a Warsaw-based

English-language media company which publishes a print magazine

and organizes events. Poland Today is the media interface bringing

Poland to the world and the world to Poland. Th rough print, digital

and event platforms we provide information and networking

opportunities to integrate both Poles and foreigners interested in

Poland. Originally from England, Richard has been in publishing,

journalism and event organizing in Poland for over 10 years, mainly

in the real estate sector. He was previously editor of Eurobuild

magazine, where he also created the Eurobuild Awards, and has

led around a dozen tours of international journalists to Poland and

Central & Eastern Europe. He has a degree in Th eology and Religious

Studies from Bristol University.

Lisette van Doorn is a highly regarded real estate investment

professional with experience across Europe. She was appointed chief

executive of ULI’s European operations in January 2015. Van Doorn

joined ULI from LIRE, her own consultancy business, which advises

international institutional real estate investors and fund managers on

strategy, organisational optimisation and portfolio structuring. Prior

to this she worked for CBRE Global Investors, where she managed

a €1.6bn portfolio of assets in Italy and was fund manager of two

shopping centre funds (€ 1.3 billion) with assets in Spain, Portugal

and Italy. Before joining CBRE Global Investors, van Doorn was

founding chief executive for INREV, the European association for

Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles.

Petr Zemcik is director of economic research at the Moody’s

Analytics London offi ce. He is responsible for analysis, modeling

and forecasting for Europe. He previously worked at CERGE-EI, a

joint workplace of the Centre for Economic Research and Graduate

Education of Charles University in Prague and the Economics

Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and

at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has published

numerous articles on econometric methodology and on real estate

bubbles in the United States and in Europe in peer-reviewed

professional journals. He holds a PhD and M.A. in Economics

from the University of Pittsburgh and M.Sc. in Econometrics and

Operations Research from the University of Economics in Prague.

Carl Weisbrod was appointed as Director of the New York City

Department of City Planning and Chairman of the New York City

Planning Commission by Mayor Bill de Blasio in March 2014. In

this position he is charged with creating land use policies to promote

an equitable, resilient, sustainable and economically vibrant city.

Weisbrod oversaw the redevelopment of Times Square under Mayors

Koch and Dinkins, was the founding President of the New York City

Economic Development Corporation under Mayor Dinkins, and the

founding President of the Alliance for Downtown New York. He has

more than 35 years of experience serving the people of New York.

Martin Erbe is Head of International Real Estate Finance for

Continental Europe at Helaba Landesbank Hesse-Th uringia which

belongs to the German savings bank network. Based at the bank’s

Frankfurt HQ, he manages the origination for Central Europe

and Benelux. Martin has worked on a wide range of fi nancing

transactions in the past and has more than 20 years of real estate

experience in the European markets. Helaba currently manages a

loan book of around EUR 35 bn in commercial real estate, almost

half of this amount representing the bank’s international business

in Europe and the US. In 2014 and 2015 Helaba was awarded the

“Lender of the Year” Award from the CEEQA Jury.
