Easter Greetings to you and your loved ones!
Like you, I am confused and anxious in these difficult and strange times. As we cope with the virus this Easter, it gives us an opportunity to remember that as Jesus, God embraced the whole human condition. He lived, ate, bled, sweated, loved, and died, but He overcame death to give us hope and new life.
These Easter days tell us that our God is a living God, always near us, never remote. A God who loves us, a God who takes us by the hand, and a God who touches all our living.
The American poet, Virginia Hamilton Adair wrote in “Games with God”
“Your God is hidden in heaven, they said….How could I make them understand God often took me by the hand. Then my tears began to fall. I felt His touch and heard his call, ‘I never hid from you at all’”
May we discover again in the troubled times, the nearness of our God. During these Easter days may our faith, hope and love be renewed and nourished.
Isolated but united in faith, we pray our FAITH will be stronger than fear, our HOPE greater than despair and our LOVE deepening our relationship with God and each other.
Easter Joy and Blessings,
Fr. Seamus O’Brien Pastor
