Baptism washes away all sin and consecrates us as Temples of the Holy Spirit. We become, in baptism, temples for God. Parents and godparents are meant to guide and inspire the baptized to follow Jesus.

So you are expecting? Congratulations on bringing a new life into the world! As you welcome this new person into your family, baptism welcomes your child into our Catholic Community.

If this is your first child, a Baptism Class is required. Please call the central office to sign up for class and/or to request a baptism. Godparent forms and instructions will be mailed to you.

Please choose several dates that work for you and your godparents so Father can choose one that fits his schedule. Since baptism is welcoming your baby into our community, scheduling during Mass is preferred but another date and time can be planned with Father’s permission. At this time, because of Covid, baptisms will be outside.

Choosing Godparents is an important decision. Choose those who believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, that are actively learning about and growing in our Catholic Faith, that know the love of God, look for ways to share God’s love, who will support your child through many life events and who will encourage your child to walk with God. Litany of Trust Sr. Faustina Maria Pia

From the believe that I have to earn Your love, Deliver me, Jesus From the fear that I am unlovable….. From the false security that I have what it takes… From the fear that trusting You will leave me more destitute… From all suspicious of Your words and promises… From the rebellion against childlike dependency on You… From refusals and reluctances in accepting Your will… From anxiety about the future… From resentment or obsessive preoccupation with the past… From restless self-seeking in the present moment… From disbelief in Your love and presence… From the fear of being asked to give more than I have… From the belief that my life has no meaning or worth… From the fear of what love demands… From discouragement…

That You are continually holding me, sustaining me, loving me Jesus, I trust in You. That Your love goes deeper than my sins and failings and transforms me... That not knowing what happens tomorrow is an invitation to Lean on You... That You are with me in my sufferings… That my suffering, united to Your own, will bear fruit in this life and the next… That You will not leave me orphan, that You are present in Your Church… That Your plan is better than anything else… That You always hear me and in Your goodness always Respond to me… That You give me grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others… That You give me all the strength I need for what is asked… That my life is a gift… That You will teach me to trust You… That You are my Lord and my God… That I am Your beloved one…..

Humanae Vitae Mass and Award Reception will be July 24th at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral honoring Dr. Thomas Newton a strong advo-cate for the teachings of Humanae Vitae: “It just made perfect sense to cooperate with physiology and with nature rather than trying to subvert it,” he said. “Every treatment we do in medicine is to restore or balance or assist your natural physiology. If something goes haywire, you pre-scribe a medication to fix it to get it back to normal. As far as I know, oral contraception is the only medication that opposes your natural physiolo-gy, it blocks it. It doesn’t make sense. You can only oppose Mother Nature so long before something happens.” ~thecentralminnesotacatholic.org

Prayer to Receive a New Bishop Praise to you, Lord our God, our eternal shepherd and guide.

In your faithfulness, grant to the Diocese of Saint Cloud A shepherd whose watchful care and kindly zeal will continue the good work of his predecessors.

In your love for us, give us a shepherd who will lead us in being Christ’s heart of mercy, voice of hope, and hands of justice.

Help him to full our minds and hearts with the truth of the Gospel, the power of the sacraments, and the desire to build up your holy Church.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

The Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds “This parable isn’t concerned with ...trying to un-derstand why the weeds were sown in the first place. Instead, it focuses on the response of the landowner. And so, when the slaves suggest up-rooting the weeds, the landowner refuses: pulling up the weeds might uproot the wheat….At first sight, this seems like a reckless decision. After all, won’t the weeds be absorbing valuable nutrients and water from the soil—the very resources need-ed to make the wheat flourish? However, these weren’t Jesus’ concerns; Jesus was taling about the mercy of God. In Jesus’ parable, there is a distinct difference between the wheat and the weeks, but to get the full impact of the picture that Matthew is painting, we have to take a look at the word that is used for the “weeds”. The word used here is zizania which is sometimes translated as “tares” or ‘’darnel”. Rather than just bein a general word for “weed,” this is a specific plant (ryegrass)...What makes this detail so important to the story is that zizania looks like wheat as it is beginning to grow. It is only when it is nearly mature that you can tell the difference. The Parable of the Weeds and the Wheat is a story about God’s mercy and a reminder that God gifts us with the time and space that allow for conversion and renewal so we can experience reconciliation, healing and growth. The parable also stands as a reminder that each of us is called to extend mercy to those around us, and to recognize that we, ourselves, also stand in need of mercy. ~ Br. Silas Henderson, S.D.S Lpi.com

A Prayer for the Abused

Lord God, the source of hope,

fill them all with joy and peace in believing,

so that through the power of the Holy Spirit

they may have hope in abundance.

We pray that they will cast all their worries upon you

because you care for them. You heal the broken-

hearted and will bind up their wounds.

We pray that we can have your strength to go to the

victims with your source of healing.

We pray that the perpetrators will admit their sin and

seek your justice.

Thank you Lord for your Love,

we ask this through Our Heavenly Father

with the Love of Jesus Christ

in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Amen
