A message from Father Quentin…

In the 4th Sunday of Advent we turn our attention to St. Joseph.

Throughout this month we have already reflected multiple times upon Mary and her part leading up to the birth of our Lord. We were able to see her willingness to follow God's will for her.

Today, Joseph shows us that he was a grace filled man who even though he was not the father of Jesus was willing to take him in as his son. Thus, Joseph was given the opportunity to spend his life with Jesus the King of the Universe and the most beautiful and holy woman of all time, Mary, the mother of Jesus.

May St. Joseph the universal patron of the Church pray for us.

May God bless us.

Faith Minute….. It’s almost here, but not yet! This 4th Sunday of Advent is so tough for our children. They can hardly wait to open the gifts that are taunting them under the tree. Children can think, “If only I can open those gifts, I would be so happy.” Unfortunately, this attitude fails to recognize that happiness is not dependent upon some future event no matter how far or near in the future it lies or how joyous the particular event will be, and Christmas gift opening is pretty joyous! Happiness is experienced in the present moment. We married couples can sometimes fall into the same trap. We think that some future event will transform our marriage. “If we had more money, we would be happy” (or something similar). What if we seized the opportunity for a more joyful marriage and family by giving the gift of marriage enrichment for Christmas?
