June 11—SNCC Hope Floats and Canal Dragons will share paddlers for the Welland Dragon Boat Festival. June 11,12—Canoe/Kayak paddlers in OCup Series, OCup 2 Ontario Team Trials in Ottawa. Feel free to take pictures at these events and share them with the club here at The Catch and on Facebook! Of note, on May 29, members of SNCC Warlocks competed at the 10th Annual Toronto Womens Dragon Boat Festival at Heart Lake Conservation Area in Brampton. Also, Canoe/ kayak paddlers competed in OCup 1, Long Distance Regatta held in Welland. Canoe Kids Camp If youre looking for something for the kids to do this summer, consider SNCCs Canoe Kids Camp for children ages 7-13. This is a week long program designed to introduce the sport of sprint canoe and kayak to young boys and girls. Through a fun filled environment and a variety of both on-land and on-water activities, kids will learn boat safety, paddling fundamentals and skills. A Personal Flotation Device (PFD) must be worn at all times. Each week is limited to 15 paddlers, so register early! Camp runs Monday to Friday 9:00am - noon. First Camp session is the week of July 4 Last Camp session is the week of August 22 For more information and to register for camp, visit www.sncc.ca
