The Cartrack System

FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

• The Cartrack Fleet Management Unit is a real-time fleet management unit with a comprehensive number of features, as well as being a stolen vehicle recovery unit.

How often does the Fleet Management unit update?

• Every time the ignition status changes• When the ignition is on:• Every 3 km in a straight line• Deviation of more than 20 degrees in any direction• Excessive idling• When the speed limit is exceeded:• Automatic retrieval of vehicle’s new position every 30

seconds• When an alert is triggered• When the ignition is off, no GPRS signal will be sent. All

recovery signals are sent via SMS/GSM to the control room.

OVERVIEW

• Display All: This function allows for the Main Map View to be zoomed to a pre-defined viewing level, so that• all the vehicles are visible on the map. When clicked, the “Display All” button will turn to green, and green• arrows representing the vehicles will appear on the Main Map View.

• Registration: A list of all the vehicles on the account is displayed in alphabetical order in accordance to their• registration numbers. To select a particular vehicle, click on the registration number. When selected, the• registration number will be highlighted in orange, and the trip information for that vehicle will be displayed in• the “Trip Information” section.

• Main Map View: It is on this central map that the vehicle positions will be plotted, along with the defined• geofences. The “Map Pan” and “Geofences” buttons are located on the top left of this map.• Trip, Vehicle Details and Reports: The three round buttons on the bottom left of the screen allow for you to• select between the “Trip Information”, the “Vehicle Details”, or the “Reports” on the selected vehicle.

• Mini Map View: The Mini Map View (located on the top right of the screen) provides a broader view of the• area surrounding the location you are zoomed in on.• Location Information: This section supplies the client with additional information on the route/trip of the• selected vehicle. When the mouse pointer comes to rest over the vehicle’s position on the Main Map View,• the “Location Information” window will display additional data on its current location.

• Trip Information: The selected vehicle’s trip information and positions are logged into and displayed in this• section. This window allows the client to view the live positions of a selected vehicle during its current trip, as• well as all its positions on any other selected trip. It also allows for magnified views of all the vehicle’s• positions during a particular trip.

DISPLAY ALL:The “Display All” option allows for the Main Map View to be zoomed to a pre-defined viewing level, so that all the vehicles are visible on the map. When clicked, the “Display All” button will turn to green, and green arrows representing the vehicles will appear on the Main Map View. When the mouse pointer is brought torest over a selected arrow, the vehicle’s registration number will be highlighted in the “Registration” section.

LIVE TRACKING:

“Real-Time Positioning”, also known as “Live Positioning”, is an option that allows you to actively track the movement of a selected vehicle/s.

To actively track a vehicle, click on its registration number and then click on the “Live” button (located in the “Trip Information” section). Once clicked, the “Live” button will turn to green and a thirty second timer will be displayed. A green arrow indicating the selected vehicle’s current position will be displayed on the Main Map View, and will be updated every thirty seconds with the vehicle’s latest position.

When the mouse pointer is brought to rest over the selected arrow, the identified vehicle will be highlighted in green on the vehicle list.

Note that the last three positions of an actively tracked vehicle are displayed on the Main Map View, so as to determine its direction of travel.

To obtain more detailed information on a particular vehicle’s position, allow the mouse pointer to come to rest over the selected arrow. The “Location Information” section will subsequently provide you with additional data on the selected position. Also the Registration number of the vehicle is displayed at the mouse pointer.

TRIP INFORMATION: • A trip is defined as a consecutive series of vehicle

positions, commencing with an “Ignition On” event and ending with an “Ignition Off” event.

• The “All” button will display all the trip positions on the Main Map View.

• The “Zoom to all positions” button will zoom out of the map to a level where all the selected vehicle’s positions will be visible at the same time on the Main Map View.

GEOFENCES

Geofences are user-defined areas created by the client. They represent areas a vehicle/s should or should not enter, depending on the client’s setup preferences. Once created, the client will be able to view and report on these geofences as follows:

• When vehicles enter or leave the defined area• How long the vehicles remain in that area• How many times the vehicles enter that area in a

specified time period

MANAGING GEOFENCES

• The “Manage Geofences” function allows for the editing, deleting or viewing of geofences that have been created by the client.

REPORT:• Reports on Fleet Management are based on

logged positions and alerts for any given date. Reports are designed to assist the client in accurately and efficiently managing his/her fleet of vehicles.

• The reports are located in the “Trips, Information and Reports” section. By clicking on the “Reports” button (left margin, third icon down), all available reports will be displayed.

VISIT QUERY:

• The Visit Query Report provides information on when a particular vehicle entered a geofences area, which geofences was entered, and on how many occasions that geofences was visited in a specified time period. It

• provides both entry and exit times, as well as accurate reports on how long the vehicle spent in the geofences area.

TRIP REPORT:• The Trip Report provides information on all

the trips done by all the vehicles on the account within a selected date range. This report information is very similar to the data that can be obtained from the “Select trip” section, except that it covers the movements of all the vehicles on the account within a specified date range (as selected by the client).

VISIT REPORT:

• The Visit Report provides information similar to that found in the Visit Query Report, except that it covers all the vehicles on the account within a specified date range (as selected by the client).

ODOMETER REPORT:

• The Odometer Report provides information on odometer readings, as well as the distance travelled by a selected vehicle on a particular day. The report will include data on all the vehicles on the account within a specified date range (as selected by the client).
