The new basketball mentor comes to Howard from Win- ston-Salem's Paisley High school, where he served as physical education teacher and basketball coach since 1961. During his five years at Paisley Emery compiled a won-lost record of 68 and 29. His 1962-63 and 1963-64 teams won the state Western District AAA championship, while his teams of the past two years finished as runner- up for he Ditrict title.
