Of course we know the words that he said as the one and eternal sacrifice took place, he spoke words of forgiveness, words of salvation, and words of completion … It is finished! I wonder if, at the moment when time and cre- ation merged into one, did He see the faces of those that will and do belong to the Church? Did he see me? Did he see you? Were all earthly borders and boundaries dissolved, as he was enthroned upon the cross, and as his ministry was completed? Well to be honest I don’t really need to wonder. Because the ancient and apostolic faith of the Church say’s that it did. Catholic’s and our Orthodox brethren believe, just as the apostolic Church did that as we gather around the altar, as we participate in the “sacrifice of the Mass” then we too stand with the crowd at the cross, our faces merge with theirs, we ourselves become present to him, he sees us and we see him! We become a living part of his family, we be- come true members of his Kingdom in the here and the now. Never forget that in the Mass, we enter the throne room of the Lord. We enter into his presence, we bow (genuflect) in adoration before him. And in his presence we become who we really are member of his Body part of his Kingdom. The book of the Apocalypse reminds us: “Look I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears me calling and opens the door, I will come in to share his meal, side by side with him. Those who prove victorious I will allow to share my throne …” God Bless you & your families Fr. Kieren

Christ the King - 24th November 2019

Dear Parishioners,

I don’t know about you but I’ve often wonder WHO (not what) Jesus saw as he was enthroned upon the cross on that

Good Friday afternoon. Of course we know the words that he said as the one and eternal sacrifice took place, he

spoke words of forgiveness, words of salvation, and words of completion … It is finished! I wonder if as his eyes nar-

rowed in pain, whether He saw beyond the faces of those in the crowd. I wonder if, at the moment when time and cre-

ation merged into one, did He see the faces of those that will and do belong to the Church? Did he see me? Did he

see you? Were all earthly borders and boundaries dissolved, as he was enthroned upon the cross, and as his ministry

was completed?

Well to be honest I don’t really need to wonder. Because the ancient and apostolic faith of the Church say’s that it

did. Catholic’s and our Orthodox brethren believe, just as the apostolic Church did that as we gather around the altar,

as we participate in the “sacrifice of the Mass” then we too stand with the crowd at the cross, our faces merge with

theirs, we ourselves become present to him, he sees us and we see him! We become a living part of his family, we be-

come true members of his Kingdom in the here and the now. Never forget that in the Mass, we enter the throne room

of the Lord. We enter into his presence, we bow (genuflect) in adoration before him. And in his presence we become

who we really are member of his Body part of his Kingdom.

The book of the Apocalypse reminds us: “Look I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears me calling and

opens the door, I will come in to share his meal, side by side with him. Those who prove victorious I will allow to share my

throne …”

God Bless you & your families

Fr. Kieren

Get a brew, sit down, listen to our presentation and chat with some of our existing volunteers. We'll be happy to answer any ques-tions that you may have. As a volunteer with the diocesan Lourdes pilgrimage, you’ll be assisting the sick, vulnerable, infirm and lonely from our diocese. Helping them to fully par-ticipate in, and be at the centre of, all that we do in Lourdes. We’ll give you all the preparation and support that you need. It’s hard work but it’s one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll have. Many volunteers make decisions about future ca-reers when in Lourdes. Find time to explore your faith, to learn about yourself and to find friends that you’ll have for life. It is often said that you don’t ‘go’ to Lourdes, you are ‘called’.
