• Established Spring of 2017 by Craig Martin and Zach Cowen

• Currently have 40 members including 7 officers and one advisor.• The Club has participated in 9 Tough Mudder Events in 2017

• 2 Toughest Mudder Events in Chicago and Philly• 4 Members Participated in World’s Toughest Mudder in Las Vegas

• 2018 Goals• Have the largest group participating and pitting at Toughest Mudder

Michigan and World’s Toughest Mudder• Offer our most committed and elite athletes the opportunity to participate

at the highest level of Tough Mudder competition and have at least 1 podium finish.

• Continue growing an outward looking organization committed to service the community.

• Have an effective leadership transition to continue to lead The Buckeye Mudder Club for years to come.

WHAT IS TOUGH MUDDER?• Obstacle Course Race Established in 2010

• Over 3 Million Participants over 6 different countries.• Raised over 10 million dollars for charities including WWP and Team Rubicon.

• Original Tough Mudder Course

• First race was in May 2010, attracting more than 4,000 participants.• Based on military training to test physical and mental toughness.• “Probably the toughest event on the planet.”

• Tough Mudder offers 5 course options in 2017

TOUGH MUDDER HALF• 5 mile course, 13 Obstacles.

• Great for a first time experience!

TOUGH MUDDER• 10-12 mile course, 20-25 World Class Obstacles.

• Requires some training.

• Run 2 miles at a 10 minute pace.

TOUGHER MUDDER• Same 10-12 mile course, 20-25 World Class Obstacles.

• Competitive timed event.

• First wave of the morning.

• Comfortable running at least 10 Miles without stopping.

• Tough Mudder Boot Camp - Monday Nights 8:00-9:00PM• Focus on body weight exercises, body control, and core strength.• Led by Craig Martin

• Tough Mudder Endurance Training – Wednesday Nights 8:00-9:00PM • Short distance circuit training combining short distance running and

multiple exercises.• Led by Zach Cowen.

• Tough Mudder Grips n’ cheeks Workout (Friday 6:30-7:30PM)• A mix of grip strength ;and leg exercises.

TOUGHEST MUDDER TRAINING

• Overnight Training at Kirkmont Center in Zanesfield, OH

• 8 Hour training from 12AM-8AM.

• 5 mile loop including:

• Obstacle Course

• Waterfall Run

• Mud Slide

• Multiple Trail Running Courses

• Black Diamond Obstacle Course

• Obstacle Course Training with Tough Mudder X elite participant and 3rd place OCR World Champion Jason Goggins.

• Take place on Sundays weather permitting!

Race Day Gear Breakdown• Shoes - Trail Running Shoes or shoes you don’t want to use again!• We recommend : Brooks Cascadia, Merrell All Out Crush, Salomon Speed

Cross 4.• Tops and Bottoms: No cotton• Dri-fit like polyester shorts, shirts, compression shorts, and spandex.

• We recommend : Nike, Merrell, Under Armour, Lulu Lemon.• Performance socks• We recommend : Balega, Lulu Lemon, CEP.

• Traveling to New Orleans spring break week of March 12st 2018.

• Events include Half, Full, Tougher.

• Traveling to Oxford Michigan on June 1st 2018.

• Events include Half, Full, Tougher, and Toughest Mudder.

• Friday• Leave campus in the afternoon (3:00-5:00PM)• Dinner• Arrive at hotel (9:00-11:00PM)

• Saturday

• Breakfast at hotel (7:30AM)• Respective Tough Mudder Events or volunteering! (8:00-5:00PM)• Dinner and Toughest Prep (7:00-9:00PM)• Onsite Pit setup (9:30-11:30)• Toughest Mudder (12:00-8:30AM)

• Sunday• Breakfast at hotel / rest (9:00AM-12:00PM)• Travel home! (5:00-6:00PM)
