LITERACY NEWS

At the end of 2018, all students K-6 sat an imaginative writing pre-assessment task in readiness for 2019 teaching and learning

planning around Writing and Representing. All students in Years 1- 6 will be focussing on creating imaginative texts, specifically

narratives, for the next five weeks. Teachers have been working on creating learning intentions and success criteria based on our

NSW English Syllabus outcomes and the National Literacy Progressions. We are working towards students setting their own

learning goals in the sub-element of Creating Texts during 2019.

Students in Years 1-6 will be focussing on the b, bb grapheme this week.

Homework will commence in Week 5 for K-6 as outlined in last night’s parent information sessions.

Below is a link from the NSW Department of Education which provides a detailed glossary of English terms used in both primary

and secondary schools.
