ANNOUNCE YOURSELF Call off the pigeons—there’s a better way to announce your new business! Send out the Business Announcement Postcards from your Starter Kit. Don’t forget to post an announcement on your social networking page, too!

MAKE THE CALL Once the postcards are in the mail, it’s time to get on the phone and offer a party to each one of your friends. The personal touch of a phone call will motivate your friends to support your new business by hosting a party.

FOLLOW UP You probably won’t be able to reach everyone on the first try. Keep track of the people you didn’t reach, and follow up with them within a week.

KEEP LOOKING! Don’t stop with your Top 50 List. Each person you meet is a potential customer! Be ready to talk about your new business. Offer each woman you meet the opportunity to become a Hostess or a new customer. (For a simple way to know what to say, see p. 10.)

FIRST CALL One or two days after she books her party

Introduce yourself and tell her how excited you are to have her as your Hostess.

Ask why she booked—free products? Special occasion?—so you can make sure she gets what she wants out of the party.

Let her know about Hostess rewards—she will get a free gift just for having the party, plus 10% of the party sales to use toward her favorite Pure Romance products.

Explain that at least 10 women need to be at the party. Ask her to over-invite to make up for those who can’t attend. (Remind her that all guests must be females over the age of 18. No men or children allowed.)

Tell her about outside orders—those unable to attend can place catalog orders that will count toward her party total.

Schedule a time and date for the next phone call.

Now that you have a few parties booked, your next move is to coach each Hostess on how to have the best party possible. Successful Hostess coaching can mean the difference between a $200 party and a $1,000 party—the more excited your Hostess is, the more excited her guests are, and the more profitable the party will be for both of you!

> HELP HER EARNSince your Hostess has probably never held a party before, you’ll need to provide tips to help her earn as much free product as possible. Do this through phone calls—you should make at least three calls to the Hostess before her party to ensure a successful night.

SECOND CALL Two or three weeks before her party

Ask about attendance. If it’s low, offer her the Top 50 List to help her think of people she might be forgetting.

Suggest she keep refreshments light and save most until the end. This will keep guests busy as they wait for their turn in the ordering room.

Ask about outside orders—does she need more catalogs or order forms?

Remind her to tell guests no kids are allowed so they can arrange for baby sitters if needed.

Mention that you will need a table to display the products for your demo and a separate room for private ordering.

Let her know again how much fun it is going to be!

Ask if she has any other questions for you.

Let her know you will call her the week of her party to firm up the details.

THIRD CALL The week of the party

Thank her again and tell her how excited you are and how much fun it will be!

Review attendance with her one last time. Ask her to call each woman coming to encourage her to bring a friend or two with her to the party.

Ask how outside orders are coming along.

Ask if she came across anyone who is interested in booking a party or becoming a Consultant. Make a note of those names.

Let her know what time you will be arriving to set up.

Confirm directions with her—don’t rely on the internet only.

Remind her again about the table for the demo and the private ordering room.

Get her excited for a fun—and much- deserved!—ladies’ night!

now what?You’re headed home from your first party. Your inventory totes are empty, and your money bag is full. You’re so excited, you feel like doing backflips! Once you get home, it’s time to close the party.

PROCESS YOUR PAYMENTS Take all cash and checks directly to the bank and deposit into the account you’ve set up for your business. All of the credit card payments that you received at the party can be processed through the Consultant Online Office.

RESTOCK YOUR INVENTORY Place an order to replace what you sold. Make sure to order backordered products so you can send them out to the people who purchased them— and pick up more of that product so you’ll have it in stock next time! Eventually you’ll build inventory and reduce backorders.

SHIP ALL BACKORDERS When you place an order with Pure Romance, you’ll receive it within five business days. Prepare your shipping boxes and envelopes so that when you receive the order, you can ship backordered products immediately. Remember to tell customers that it will take seven to 10 business days to receive their orders; if you get products to them sooner, it’s a bonus!

FOLLOW UP WITH GUESTS Follow-up is key to creating lifelong customers. Take time to make phone calls and send thank-you cards to the Hostess and guests who attended the party. Each small effort you make to improve customer care will be repaid with repeat business.
