Since 2004, The Blue has been one of Hampton Roads' best respected events for independently minded performing artists. Since its inception, The Blue has been known for it's intimate atmosphere, engaged audiences and spontaneous moments of profound creativity and expression. The open nature of our event fosters genuine connection between performer and audience member.

Now approaching its 5th season, The Blue is an event that is on the grow. "This

season, we want to take The Blue experience to another

level. Just as any artistic endeavor should be an endeavor for growth, we want to take our experience to a higher standard that brings out the best in

those who come to The Blue to share their creativity," says event curator, Jon Bibbs.

There is no pretense at The Blue. We work hard to maintain an open, warm, and encouraging environment that is conducive to creative expression. It isn’t about money, glitz, glamour or fame. The Blue is about providing an open and supportive environment for

creative people to share, connect and interact.

The Band with No NamePerhaps the most noted attraction of The Blue is the incredible Band with No Name, the house band personnel for The Blue. Comprised of some of the best musicians in the state, the Band with No Name is a jam band - pulling from the jazz tradition of 100% “improvised sets”

ABOUTJON BIBBS

Progressing Soul Music for the Ages: Born and raised on the south side of Richmond, Virginia, Jonathan Bibbs (better known as Jon Bibbs) is an internationally lauded singer, songwriter, producer and musician. Jon is also the founder and host of Blue.

Since his entry into the music industry, Mr. Bibbs has recorded and performed along-side some of the music industry’s best producers, musicians and performers including: Roy Ayers, Kardi’nal

Official, Conya Doss, Morris Day & the Time, Dane "Kameleon Beats" Norton, Bilal, Busta Rhymes, John Legend, Anthony David, Mike Philips, Raheem DeVaughn, Sleepy Brown, Stick Man (of Dead Prez), Dwele, Chuck Brown, Ledisi, Melani Fiona, Jaguar Wright, Jean Grae, Nottz Raw and many more.

Jon launched the first season of Blue in 2004, in an attempt to recreate the environments that led to his own creative discovery. Three seasons later, Blue is known throughout the east coast, and has become one of the most respected events of its kind in the state of Virginia.
