The battle began on June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day, when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region. The invasion was one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history and required extensive planning. By late August 1944, all of northern France had been liberated, and by the following spring the Allies had defeated the Germans. The Normandy landings have been called the beginning of the end of war in Europe. As a father, I can say without a doubt that my greatest pride is seeing my children grow up in the presence of so many good influences and examples within our communities. Being around our residents and their families reminds me of the greatest gift in life: family. The unconditional love, encouragement, and support that exists within families are what we see in our senior living communities every day. What a wonderful thing for all of us to be a part of. Second, as I am sure all of you are now aware, plans for Cappella Senior Living to join Villagio Senior Living as a management partner in August are moving forward well. Cappella has the same deep commitment to quality, integrity and resident-centered care that we do. We believe this partnership strengthens the services we provide and better aligns with our overall mission of our organization and mission. Over the next two months we will continue to move through the transition process so that it is seamless and allows all of our associates to concentrate on our residents without fail. Thank you for your continued support and trust in Villagio. We are very much looking forward to great things as we push forward in life together. The Cottages at Bradford Village presents the 2nd Annual Classic Car Show and Fundraiser on Saturday, June 15th from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Cast votes for your favorite cars with a cash donation. The proceeds from the show will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. There will be coffee, lemonade, and donuts at the show. The show will be held in the parking lot behind the Community Center this year to provide more space to view the cars. Come out to vote for your favorite cars and stick around for the Father’s Day Fish Fry after the car show! A father is of the utmost importance to his children and family. Children believe that there is nothing that their dad couldn’t do. Fathers are mentors, role models, and are willing to make many sacrifices to keep their family safe and well. Every little thing a father does makes him great.
