PRAYER TO THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
The Father is my hope.
The Son is my refuge.
The Holy Spirit is my protector.
Glory to the holy and undivided Trinity, now and for ever.
Let us praise the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; let us bless
and exault God above all for ever! Almighty and everlasting God,
to whom we owe the grace of professing the true faith, grant that
while acknowledging the glory of the eternal Trinity and adoring its
unity, we may through your majestic power be confirmed in this
faith and defended against all adversities; through Jesus Christ our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

MASS INTENTIONS
Sunday, June 7, 2020 | The Most Holy Trinity Sunday 4
Resuming Mass during the Pandemic
The St Matthias Parish Masses open to the public beginning Monday, June 8th are as follows:
- Monday through Friday, 8 am at St Ann ,
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 am at St Hugh,
-Tuesday, 9 am at St. Marcellus,
- Thursday, 9 am at St. Ignatius, as we start back to a more normal weekday schedule.
- The churches of Greene County and St Matthias Parish are now open according to our regular Sunday
Mass schedule.
Using all the precautions that have been laid out by the diocese and the state people will have to:
- wear masks,
- use hand sanitizer on entering and exiting the church,
- keep social distancing (which will force us to only about 1/3 capacity of our churches, by closing
every other pew),
- during the whole liturgy people will be asked to stay in their pews with little interaction with others,
until communion is distributed after the final blessing,
- then people are to leave the church immediately, not congregating or socializing after Mass.
- Between each Mass we are asked to wipe down the pews and other areas of the church that are
normal areas of touch. No Eucharistic ministers or readers will be used at this time. We are trying to do
all we can for the safety of our parishioners and yet maintain a faithful respect for the Eucharist and
the people.
During this time there is no obligation for you to come to Mass! If you are sick or your health is
compromised in any way you should stay home please, for your health and that of the community
of faith.
May God bless you during these strange times.
We are committed to keeping within the guidelines laid out by the diocese and hope that those who
can will join us for Mass. If a church were to fill up, we will not let more enter the church than is
safe according to the guidelines. Please bear with us during these unusual circumstances.
Pray all ways, pray always,
Fr Al McGinnis

FAITH LIFE
Dear St. Matthias Parishioners: Megan McKenna was scheduled to give a Parish Mission for us in March
of this year before the Coronavirus outbreak. You are invited to enjoy her online presentation.
Association of Pittsburgh Priests to Wrap Up Spring Series with Lecture and Discussion with Megan McKenna,

Repairing One’s Soul …Repairing the World, by Megan McKenna, Ph.D.
Via the technology of Zoom, Dr. Megan McKenna, renowned theologian, storyteller, and prolific author, will bring her breadth of vision and world-wide experiences with Indigenous peoples to bear on the topic of Tikkum Olam, a Jewish concept which involves repairing one’s soul, as well as repairing the world on Tuesday, June 16 at 7 PM.
Drawing upon her recent work in Northwestern Canada, Manitoba and in the Arctic Circle with First Nations, Dr. McKenna will extend the concept of Tikkum Olam to include restorative justice, at-one-ment, forgiveness, and reconciliation, and thereby convey to us “what it looks like to undo harm done, and move towards resurrection life now.”
As Daniel Berrigan, S.J. once put it when praising her book And Morning Came: “Shall we proclaim Resurrection, even as creation is threatened with going under? Yes...birth, rebirth wins out over death. Thank you, Megan.”
Join us as Dr. McKenna challenges us, in her clear and fiery manner, to listen more deeply to Scripture, our own experiences, and God’s messages from one another.
McKenna, Megan, Ph.D., is a renowned Catholic theologian, internationally recognized storyteller, and author of more than 50 books, one of which –This Will Be Remembered of Her: Stories of Women Reshaping the World – won a Catholic Press Award. She was named Ambassador for Peace for Pax Christi in 2002. Dr. McKenna resides in Albuquerque where she works with Indigenous groups.
