The Song Should Serve You

The audition book is your life when it comes to auditioning.

Choose material that is appropriate to your abilities, age, and role you are auditioning for.

Sing a song that you perform well, do not just choose a song because you love it.

Make SURE that the music is in your key and that you know the arrangement you have on your sheet music.

Make any cuts or markings easy to see and understand.

You Should Serve The Song

A song is much more than just notes and words. Your job is to bring the song to life. Understand the lyric and the intention of the character. Tell us the story!

Respect Yourself, The Song and The Audition panel enough to really prepare the song well. If you blow an audition over lack of preparation or practice, then shame on you.
