The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the IQAC

The faculty of the college has the membership of the board of studies and various other academic
councils of GNDU, Amritsar. Every year these faculty members are invited by the University for
Meetings, in which they give their recommendations regarding the syllabus. On their
recommendations university revises the syllabus.
A new programme Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc.) was introduced this year. It has the following

2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes:
The IQAC at the start of the session conducts a meeting with all the faculty members so as to
give its programme and agenda for the coming session.
The IQAC encourages and supports its faculty in their research work by providing them all the
necessary information it acquires for various workshops seminars and conferences
It also provides its faculty information about refresher courses, summer schools and other such
faculty development programmes organized within the region.
To facilitate the learning process smart boards were introduced and faculty was encouraged to

In-house competitive exam coaching cell, placement and counselling cell
guides the students for competitive exams.
At the start of the session and also before the start of the session the faculty visited various
schools of the city to extend career counselling to the students and moreover at the time of
admission also students are properly guided so that they can choose the subjects as per the
field of their interest.
Free Counselling is also provided by the psychology department.
The college regularly invites experts from different fields to provide employment potential in

The college by being affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar abides by its academic
calendar. Under this classes with semester system have to appear for mid semester exams in the month
of October and April. About 95% of the syllabus is covered for these exams, after the exams students
are given their answer sheets with suggestions by the teachers. Moreover the result is prepared and the
report cards are sent to their parents.

vacancies are advertised and are determined by requirements as prescribed by DPI, UGC and as well
as the work load of individual departments.
The students every year visit important industries to have a deeper understanding of their working.
Admission is conducted as per the guidelines of the university. All the information related to
admission in various coursed is advertised in Daily News-papers and also put on the website of the
college. The details of admission guidelines are also printed in the college prospectus and the
admissions process strictly follow these guidelines.

CodArt Rotterdam Netherlands, Chengdu Textile College and National University of
Singapore Research Institute, China (NUSRI), Singapore Khalsa Association,

Academic bodies of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar
The institute also collaborates with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for various
academic and research activities. The faculty of the institute regularly attends
Refresher Courses and General Orientation Courses at GNDU. Moreover college
faculty also has the membership of various bodies of Guru Nanak Dev University i.e.
Board of studies, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Business and
Economics etc. through with they give consultancy regarding the syllabus of various

exposure of designs to the students. The workshop
‘Creating Pioneer’ in June 2014 organized by the Willem
de Kooning Academy in Netherlands enhanced the
knowledge of students in the field of fashion, textiles,
interior designs and graphics. Moreover students from
Netherland learnt traditional crafts of Punjab like Fulkari
embroidery, Durry weaving, Art of making Punjabi Jutti,
Inlay work of Hoshiarpur.
CodArt, Rotterdam Netherlands The students from CodArts, on their visit to the institution
learnt about various folk instruments like Rabab, Taus,
Sarangi, Sarinda and Sitar etc. They also learnt about the
intricacies of I Classical Music i.e. Bandish, Devotional
Compositions, Folk songs, Sufi songs.
Chengdu Textile College, China The collaboration gave deep insight to the students about
the Chinese crafts like calligraphy, traditional Chinese
Embroidery (Shu), Paper craft, Printing and Painting
Techniques. The students and faculty of the college
demonstrated traditional embroideries like Kasuti
embroidery, Fulkari and Gujrat embroidery. Students from
both the countries also participated in the fashion show
exhibiting their traditional and contemporary dresses.
Moreover on their visit to students from China also learnt
traditional crafts of Punjab.
NUSRI, China The students of the institution on their visit to NUSRI,
learnt about the business practices followed by the Chinese
companies. During their stay in China they visited many
renowned industries of China i.e. ASUS, Silk Embroidery
and many software companies also.

Entrepreneurial Development Cell
The Goal
To create a sustainable and diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem where the faculty and students
come together to take entrepreneurship a step ahead in the college. Making students industry-
ready is the aspiration.
The Context
In the present competitive world, the students need to be equipped with skills to face the
challenges posed by industry. To make students industry ready and able enough to face the
challenges of globalised environment, the educational institutions have to be responsive to the
requirements of industry and commercial establishments. The cell works for generation of
spirit of ‘Self Employment’ and ‘Self Reliance’ among the students.
The Practice
Entrepreneurial Development Cell chisels the entrepreneurial skills of the students. It invites
resource persons from industry to interact with students. Exhibitions both in-house and
outdoor are arranged where the creative work of these students is put up for display and sale to
the public. Preparation of market based research projects is highly encouraged.
