From the Pastor’s Desk… This Sunday we are celebrating the solemnity of the Holy Trinity. As we meditate upon this mystery we see how God belongs to a family. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit live in total harmony, total balance and simple unity. This we consider a mystery because our minds cannot comprehend fully the kind of relationship that God has within himself. For some people a mystery is something that has no solution. For us Christians a mystery is a reality that cannot be fully unfolded until we reach the presence of God Almighty. God loves us in a Trinitarian way. Most likely we cannot unravel this enigma or mystery but we know something about the Holy Trinity. God is relational! God is based upon our relationship: with Him, with our neighbors and with ourselves. God is an invitation to rediscover him in light with his Son and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We are sons and daughters of God the Creator, we are called to give life and to create a better existence for all. In Jesus, we see how God calls us to be evangelizers and in this way to assist Christ’ plan of saving the world. In Jesus we find the model for Christians and the call to be missionaries. Finally we are temples of the Holy Spirit. The spirit that comes from God, enlightens us, gives us strength and courage to cultivate the gifts of the Holy Spirit and share them with others. But like in any other friendship or relationship based in love and respect this relationship must be cultivated, appreciated and strengthened by our prayer, sacramental life and ultimately our faith. As children of the same Father, through our relationship with Jesus and strengthened by the Paraclete Spirit we are mirrors of the very same relationship that God enjoys with himself. Praised be forever the Holy Trinity!

Del Escritorio del Párroco… En este domingo celebramos la solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad. Al meditar sobre este misterio vemos como Dios recrea su propia familia. El Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo conviven en total armonía, balance total y simple unidad. Esto lo consideramos un misterio, pues nuestras mentes no pueden comprender totalmente el tipo de relación que Dios mantiene en sí

mismo. Para algunos un misterio es algo que no tiene solución. Para nosotros los Cristianos un misterio es una realidad que no puede ser totalmente descubierta sino hasta llegar a la presencia de nuestro Dios Todopoderoso. Dios nos ama de manera trinitaria.

Seguramente no podemos descifrar este enigma o misterio, pero sabemos algo de la Santísima Trinidad. !Dios es relacional! Dios está basado en nuestras interrelaciones: con Él, con nuestro prójimo y con nosotros mismos. Dios es una invitación a redescubrirlo en nuestra relación con esa luz Divina, que su Hijo, a través de la Inspiración del Espíritu Santo. Somos hijos e hijas del Padre Creador. Estamos llamados a dar vida y a crear una existencia mejor para todos. En Jesús vemos como se nos llama a ser evangelizadores y de esta manera asistir al plan de Cristo de salvar al mundo. En Jesús encontramos este modelo de cristianos y ese llamado a ser misioneros. Finalmente somos templos del Espíritu Santo. El Espíritu que proviene de Dios, nos ilumina, nos alienta y nos da valor para cultivar esos dones y compartirlos con otros. Pero como cualquier amistad o relación basada en el amor y el respeto debe de ser cultivada, valorada y fortalecida por nuestra oración, vida sacramental y ultimadamente nuestra fe.

Como hijos de un mismo Padre, a través de nuestra relación con Dios y fortalecidos por el Espíritu Paráclito nos convertimos en espejo de esa relación que Dios goza en sí mismo. !Glorificada por siempre sea la Santísima Trinidad!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS NOTICIAS DEL CATECISMO The Lord's Peace be with you! I began listening to sermons by Robert Barron before he was named auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and even before he became Rector of Mundelein Seminary. He is a man of great intellect and has a profound understanding of the Catholic faith. He has often referred to the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity as the “preacher’s greatest nightmare”. This description stemming from the very awesome yet difficult task priests encounter in explaining “…the central mystery of Christian faith and life” (CCC 234). One way to begin to grasp the essence of our Trinitarian God is through the understanding of God as a community of persons coexisting in perfect union. Each of the three persons of the Most Holy Trinity exists in perfect union with one another. We owe a great debt to the great Saint Thomas Aquinas, who in his Summa Theologica gave us a truly amazing revelation of the nature of the Holy Trinity. He described the relationship between God the Father and God the Son as the infinite mutual exchange of self-emptying unconditional love; this constant exchange of love between the First Two Persons taking the form of the Third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. Although impossible to fully understand in this life, we as individuals and as a Church do well in devoting ourselves to learning all we can about the Most Holy Trinity. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. May God richly bless you! Jose M. Morales, Coordinator of Religious Education

¡La Paz del Señor esté con ustedes! He escuchado los sermones de Robert Barron desde antes de que fue nombrado a obispo auxiliar de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles, incluso antes de él ser Rector del Seminario de Mundelein. Él es conocido como un hombre de gran intelecto quien tiene un profundo entendimiento de la fe Católica. A menudo él ha referido a la Solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad como la "mayor pesadilla de los predicadores". Esto se debe a que es una muy impresionante y difícil tarea explicar "...el misterio central de la fe Cristiana y la vida" (CCC 234). Congratulations to Maria Morales and Felicita Arroyo. They are true examples of faithful parishioners practicing stewardship. Both are senior citizens on fixed incomes yet every month for 3 years they faithfully sent out their To Teach Who Christ Is pledge payments and just this month they completed their pledges. Thank you both and thank you to all our donors who have contributed and continue to contribute to the Campaign.. The To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign has been extended for an additional __years. If you are still making your pledge payments, do not stop. Please continue as you have been doing. If you were unable to make a pledge when we first started—its not to late to make one now. Please call the office and speak to our Business Manager for more information.

Blue Stewardship Envelopes As mentioned in last week’s bulletin, we have decided to discontinue the envelope yet we will still be taking up stewardship collections. Beginning in July we will begin to take up second collections twice a month. The monies received will be used to offset our deficit and to continue supporting our programs and our ministries. We will also go back to taking up the Archdiocesan collections as a second collection on the appropriate dates. We have also included a once a month envelope for our Sharing Parish, St. Malachy-Precious Blood. You may include your donation anytime during the month and the monies will be sent to them at the end of the month. We would like to thank all the parishioners who used the blue envelopes as good stewards of our faith. We look forward to your continued support of our parish in all its works and endeavors.

Sobres Azules de Mayordomía Como mencionamos en el boletín de la semana pasada, hemos decidido descontinuar el sobre pero todavía tomaremos colectas de mayordomía.

A partir de julio vamos a empezar a tomar segunda colectas dos veces al mes. El dinero recibido se utilizará para compensar nuestro déficit y seguir apoyando nuestros programas y nuestros ministerios. También volveremos a tomar las colectas Arquidiocesanas como una segunda colecta en las fechas adecuadas. También hemos incluido un sobre una vez al mes para nuestra parroquia de compartiendo, St. Malachy-Precious Blood. Puede incluir su donación cualquier tiempo durante el mes y se el enviara el dinero al fin de cada mes.
