When the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine is shut down automatically.** When the drivers foot is removed from the brake pedal, the engine is re-started automatically. ** Providing certain conditions are met. The transmission selector must be in the “D” or “4” position. The engine WILL NOT shut down if the engine is not warmed up; if the turn signals or hazard lights are on, or if truck is on a slope. How the System Works?Hino’s parallel hybrid system combines its 5.1L 210HP turbo-charged diesel engine with a battery-powered electric traction motor with 350 Nm torque. The 36 kW traction motor assists the diesel engine during acceleration.
