G’Day All, Well half the year has gone and things seem to be ticking along well, with our organising Toomby’s and the Festival entry forms being printed and will be posted out soon.

We have organised a stall for the Dam Fine Rally Open Day on the 4th July, so we will be looking at promoting our club and also Toomby’s weekend. The big fan has been installed at St Joseph’s so hopefully it will make a big difference in the warmer weather. Memberships were due at the end of June so, if you haven’t paid and would like to do so by internet banking the details are:- BSB 034241 Account 364847 at Westpac Castletown. Once again I would like to remind Artists at our functions please be ready when it is your turn. That means books open at your first song, the people that are backing you are ready, and you are at the backstage when the Artist before you has just started their last song. This will ensure everybody gets a fair go, and the event runs smoothly. We still have some of the microphone technique sheets available from our Music Co-Ordinators. I hope everybody is well, but if you are on sick call get well quick as we miss you. I would like to wish all our Members going to Sarina all the best, and have a great time. Until next time, Country always, Darryl

Two Council workers were working on Flinders Street. One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind him and fill the hole in. They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to Denham Street, working furiously all day without rest, one man digging a hole, the other filling it in again. An onlooker was amazed but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, "I'm impressed by your efforts, but I don't get it - why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?" The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-person team. But today the lad who plants the trees called in sick.'"
