Ketan Modi is a director at Navgujarat Multicourse training institute, Photography Department, Ahmedabad and teaching various photography courses since 1988. He is also a visiting faculty at several institutes across Gujarat and regularly conducts workshops on photography. His work has been exhibited in several exhibitions across India and he has won several awards in various fields of photography. Rushir Shah is a businessman by profession; however he has a passion for photography His major field of interest is outdoor photography. It mainly includes landscapes, mountainscapes, seascapes and astrophotography. His work has been exhibited in several photography exhibitions and he has also conducted his own exhibition on landscapes of Ladakh, which has been widely acclaimed. THE AESTHETICS AND TECHNICS OF PHOTOGRAPHY Ketan Modi & Rushir Shah Students will be introduced to fundamentals and basics of Digital SLR Photography, which will include audio visual and practical sessions. They will be introduced to different subjects such as history of photography, introduction to photography, technical aspects of SLR camera and aesthetic aspects of photography. They will be introduced to different branches of photography such as architecture photography, interior photography, portrait photography, wildlife photography and macro photography. Apart from this, students will be also introduced to various camera techniques like light trails, panning, multiple exposure, panorama, star trails and cloning of subjects. At the end, students will be taught basic post editing techniques on computer. Outdoor as well as indoor practical sessions along with photoshoots at different places around Ahmedabad will be conducted. If students have their own SLRs they can bring them to class; however it is not a prerequisite.
