Around the world, larger eggs command a premium price. In the USA,the 3-year average (2017–2020) was a 31% price premium for large over medium eggs. Because the W-80 enters the large category earlier, egg producers realize an overall egg income advantage. At 80 weeks of age, 87% of the W-80's eggs were in the more valuable
large and above category, while only 77% of the competitor strain's eggs were in the same category.

The W-80 reached a 60 g average egg weight more than 10 weeks earlier than the competitor strain. By reaching larger eggs earlier, the W-80 is able to give the egg producer additional revenue quickly as more eggs
are produced in the higher valued range due to the W-80’s 10-week+ head start.

Through accelerated genetic progress, current W-80 commercial flocks are realizing a higher rate of persistency. W-80 flocks are demonstrating a large year-on-year increase in rate of lay and overall persistency. More weeks above 90% hen-day production means more eggs by the end of lay.

Additionally, the W-80 maintains a healthy appetite, allowing her to perform on any type of diet. This allows her to “bounce back” and quickly overcome field challenges, be it heat stress, disease, or mechanical in nature.
This robustness allows the W-80 to achieve exceptional productivity results around the world and allowed her to quickly surpass and continue to build on her more than 100 million annual day-old chick
placements worldwide.
With the W-80's excellent livability, strong, crack-resistant shells, and a high rate of persistency of lay, producers are realizing record hen-housed egg numbers over extended lay cycles.

GRANJA ESTRELA - BRAZILHatch Date: 10 January 2018 | Hens Housed: 57,240
• Began working with W-80 in 2018 for her rusticity and ability to overcome field challenges
• Very good egg shell quality with low % checks or dirty eggs
• Achieved standard HHE despite challenging local conditions at 80 weeks
"We had no problems adjusting or adapting to the W-80 as the Hy-Line team in Brasil always oriented us toward the best management practices. Good
conversion and we are very satisfied with the results in general."
Eduardo Stuhr and Selenne Berger Stuhr, Owners

Producers are also finding the W-80 excels in the cage-free systems growing in popularity throughout the world. Her docile nature combined with curiosity to explore the housing system and find the nest in aviary systems is
making her the choice among cage-free white-egg producers.
Customer Testimonial: Brock Peterson President of Opal Foods
"In the time that I have been at Opal, we have continued to expand our cage-free [production systems]. As we've done that, we continue to look for the right birds that work in the cage-free environments . . . A couple years ago, we started looking very specifically at the W-80, as is it a bird that we want to put into our aviaries. And as we sit here today, these are 17-week-old W-80's – very docile, very good bird, very easy to manage.
Very limited floor eggs.
As we continue to put more and more W-80 in [our systems], we continue to see the eggs per hen-housed being very, very good, shell quality being very good, as we extend these birds out to longer life cycles. That egg
quality, egg per hen-housed, over the longer period of time, the economic benefits of that outweigh many of the other breeds that we look at."

Customer Testimonial: Dr. Raul Buthay Production Manager for Cabaña Avícola Feller (Argentina)
"Why did we choose Hy-Line? Well, because we incubate eggs, we are not egg producers, and to be able to keep up with the market in Argentina,
we have the obligation to work with the best genetic lines, and from that point of view for the past 20 years, we believe that Hy-Line has the best genetics in the world. The main reason for choosing Hy-Line is because the products are high quality. They offer excellent technical commercial support and a variety of products, which is also very important when we need to
choose the lines for the Argentinian market."
For the hatchery business, the W-80 is an exceptional breeder. High rate of lay, strong shells, superior fertility and excellent hatchability rates mean more high-quality day-old chicks per hen. Recent parent flocks in South
America are achieving these results.
