last Thursday Mr Leaper Yates of Edmon ton spent a few days of last week visiting relatives at this place Our old people say they dont remember of experiencing a March like the one just closed Rev G Y Wilson has just re- turned ¬ from Albany where he closed a very interesting series bf meetingsI Mr C 0 Moss made a bus ness trip to Portland one day last weekI i Mr Geo D Vance one of the prosperous farmers of the Cool I Spring community was with us last Fridayi We are glad to note that Rev I J Vi Sexton and his estimable wife are now citizens of our town I Mr Robert 0 Keltner one of our industrious citizens has re- cently ¬ made some improvements on his property at this place I I Messrs C L Keltner and j Thomas Gowen of the Weed j community attended prayer I services at this place f spent last Sunday afternoon at Bliss Iand Mrs S A Taylor and their son Samuel attended the funeral services of Mr Motgom ery at Ozark last Thursday v Messrs Will Sharp and family r3XA Gradyand family and Jo Yates and family who left here the first of the year for McGre ¬ I gor Texas are well pleased with the Lpne Star State and are all through planting a large crop of corn Success to you is the wish i of your Kentucky friends + Mr S A Harper handed your reporter a letter to read that h had just received from his son i Mont who has been enjoying a soldier life for many years and Istated that he had good health but was very much disappointed visitis Kentucky n il jit ii < I during the month of March on account of having extra work to do but would be sure to come in July Mont has been stationed at San Francisco for a longtime I His many friends in Gradyville will be glad to see him Our town was full up of people last Saturday attending the auc tion sale of Mr JJ Hunter A great many articles sold lower than their cash value while oth ers brought more This is the I case at all auctions the people will buy Mrs Millie Hill has just return ¬ ed from the Louisville market where she spent several days looking after millinery and will be ready to meet her customers with a full line of uptodate goods in a few days Mrs J A Diddle is receiving this week new machinery from beginning to end for his roller mill at this place When this machinery is put into service and with the experience of an ex- perienced miller our town will have a mill that will make as good flour as any in the State and the patrons of this mill should appreciate the great con venience it will be to one and all Success to Mr Diddle We are just in receipt of a let ¬ ter from our old friend Martin Roach formerly of this commu nity but for the last few years of McGregor Texas stating that his health is good and he is accumulating some of this- i worlds goods We all know I aI a thing we ever heard of recovering from a severe attack of pneumo- nia ¬ fever The social at Louis Morgans Saturday night was well attend ¬ ed and highly enjoyed by all pre ¬ sent Married on the 26th Miss Mil ¬ lie Grider to Mr Joda Samuels The bride is the youngest daught ¬ er of Mr MB Grider and is a very estimable young lady The groom is an industrious young farmer and a gentleman in the fullest sense of the term Henry Columbia Singletree Co is here superintending the erection of shop and other buildings for that company Machinery will be in ¬ stalled as soon as buildings are completedMr Barns spent Thursday night with Mr and Mrs Her schel Dunbar J H Smith Co are buying andshipping large quantities of eggs and poultry John Rexroat has been IMrs for a few days Mr J 0 Jarboe has bought and is having delivered at this place a large quantity of timber to be used in building houses forj hands and other necessary build ¬ ing for the factory that is goingI hereMr Merkely and family left last Saturday to be at the bedside of his brother who was r sick and has since died at Camp bellsville GARBER OKLA Perhaps a few lines from this part of the fair land would be of interest to some one I am a regular reader of the News and assure you that it is a welcome visitor however I would like to hear from Knifley and Casey Creek at more frequent intervals Am sure if you could get Steve Knifley to correspond we would
