I haven't used a baitcaster since I was a kid, and I'm 58. They were way more rudimentary then. I've recently taken up fishing again. Q: is this good for walleye fishing A: I think you would be ok with it. I have never used

one for walleye but I have never had any problems with it for bass fishing and I fish them a lot. Only problem I ever had was a bad handle and I just replaced it and was an easy fix. The drag is good and casts real smooth. I would use them for steelhead fishing in the rivers and think it would hold up just fine
