BABYLON’S MESSAGE: CONTRARY TO GOD’S MESSAGE

REVELATION 14- Babylon was God’s bride; but Babylon have

apostatized [REVELATION 17].- Babylon: Woman / Harlot / Church [System]- Babylon: Sits upon many waters- Babylon: [Religious Apostate System] fornicates

with the kings of the earth- Babylon: Mother with children born to her- Babylon: Gives a cup with abominable wine to

earth’s inhabitants- Babylon: A religious system decked with silver,

gold, and precious stones.

BABYLON IS GUILTY: BLOOD OF THE SAINTS

REVELATION 17:6And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with

great admiration.

THE SECOND ANGEL: BABYLON IS FALLEN

REVELATION 14:8• Babylon: Forces its wine on all of earth’s

inhabitants • Babylon: Revelation 18:2, 3

- A habitation of devils- A place of unclean spirits- A place for every unclean and hateful bird

• Babylon: All nations [along with the kings of the earth] drink of her abominable wine

• Babylon: Merchants become rich with her delicacies

WHAT DOES WINE REPRESENT?MATTHEW 26:26-28

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

JOHN 6:63

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life.

SDA BIBLE COMMENTARY, Vol. 5, p. 1089.1Jesus knew that He could do the scribes and Pharisees no good, unless they would empty themselves of self-importance. He chose new bottles for His new wine of doctrine, and made fishermen and unlearned believers the heralds of His truth to the world. And yet, though His doctrine seemed new to the people, it was in fact not a new doctrine, but the revelation of the significance of that which had been taught from the beginning. It was His design that His disciples should take the plain, unadulterated truth for the guide of their life. They were not to add to His words, or give a forced meaning to His utterances. They were not to put a mystical interpretation upon the plain teaching of the Scriptures, and draw from theological stores to build up some man-made theory.

WHAT’S IN BABYLON’S CUP?

REVELATION 17:3, 4...And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured

beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in

her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

WHAT’S THE FILTHINESS OF BABYLON?

DEUTERONOMY 7:25, 26The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold [that is] on them, nor take [it] unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it [is] an abomination to the LORD thy God. Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: [but] thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it [is] a cursed thing.

BABYLON’S ABOMINATIONS CONTINUES…

DEUTERONOMY 18:9-12When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

BABYLON’S ABOMINATIONS: FORNICATION WITH KINGS

REVELATION 17:2With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. Babylon’s [religious system] has Illicit relations with the [political system] of this world in order to push its agenda forward.

DEUTERONOMY 14:3Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

BABYLON’ ABOMINATIONS: GUILTY OF SHEDDING INNOCENT BLOOD

EZEKIEL 22:2

Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt show her all her abominations. Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

REVELATION 17:6

BABYLON’S ABOMINATIONS: SUN WORSHIP

EZEKIEL 8:16, 17And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, [were] about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen [this], O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here?

SUN WORSHIP: IDOLATRY• Who made the sun?• Was it [Sun] made for worship?• So what happens if/when you turn that day into a

day of worship?EXODUS 20:4

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above,

or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth...

• Who made the first day of the week?• Was it [first day] made for worship?• So what happens if/when you turn that day into a

day of worship? idolatry

The Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord, Satan will work "with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness;" and they that "received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved," will be left to receive "strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." [2 THESS. 2:9-11.] Not until this condition shall be reached, and the union of the church with the world shall be fully accomplished, throughout Christendom, will the fall of Babylon be complete. The change is a progressive one, and the perfect fulfillment of Revelation 14:8 is yet future.

…God has a church upon the earth who are His chosen people, who keep His commandments. He is leading, not stray offshoots, not one here and one there, but a people. ...The gospel net draws not only good fish, but bad ones as well, and the Lord only knows who are His. It is our individual duty to walk humbly with God. We are not to seek any strange, new message. We are not to think that the chosen ones of God who are trying to walk in the light compose Babylon. The fallen denominational churches are Babylon. Babylon has been fostering poisonous doctrines. The wine of error…

SHE CONTINUES….....This wine of error is made up of false doctrines,

such as the natural immortality of the soul, the eternal torment of the wicked, the denial of the pre-existence of Christ prior to His birth in Bethlehem, and advocating and exalting the first day of the week above God's holy and sanctified day. These and kindred errors are presented to the world by the various churches, and thus the Scriptures are fulfilled that say, 'For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.' It is a wrath which is created by false doctrines, and when kings and presidents drink this wine of the wrath of her fornication, they are stirred with anger against those who will not come into harmony with the false and satanic heresies which exalt the false Sabbath, and lead men to trample underfoot God's memorial....

....But the true leader of all this rebellion is Satan clothed as an angel of light. Men will be deceived and will exalt him to the place of God, and deify him. But Omnipotence will interpose, and to the apostate churches that unite in the exaltation of Satan, the sentence will go forth, 'Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.'" ...The object of preaching is not alone to convey information, not merely to convince the intellect. The preaching of the word should appeal to the intellect, and should impart knowledge, but it should do more than this. The words of the minister should reach the hearts of the hearers….

IS HAVING A CLEAN HEART SUFFICIENT FOR GOD?

REVELATION 18:1, 2, 4And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

GOD’S END-TIME REMNANTEZEKIEL 9:4

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

REVELATION 21:27

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
