1. Papers should be typed double spaced on an A4 size white
paper and should be accompanied by an abstract prepared as
per the instructions and format given in the IMS News letter
No. 34 (August 2015) which is also displayed on the website
http://www.indianmathsociety.org.in of the IMS. Abstract
should be brief and should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts
received without full length paper shall not be considered.
2. The abstracts and the papers should be sent electronically
(in.pdf format) to The Academic Secretary, Prof. M. M. Shikare
(Email: [email protected]), Department of
Mathematics, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune ‐411007
(Maharashtra), so as to reach him not later than October 31,
2015. A copy of the paper and the abstract should be
retained by the author and brought for use at the time of
presentation in the Conference.
3. Every author intending to present a paper should either be a
member of the society or should register himself/ herself as a
sessional member. In the case of joint authors both the
authors must be either members or should become sessional
members. Non‐members wishing to become annual members
can do so by paying Rs. 250/‐. Those wishing to become
sessional members can also do so by paying Rs. 250/‐. The
amount can be paid to the Treasurer, Prof. S. K. Nimbhorkar,
Department of Mathematics, Dr. B. A. M. University,
Aurangabad – 431004 (MS) by sending a demand draft drawn
in favour of the 'Indian Mathematical Society' payable at
Aurangabad (Maharashtra), so as to reach him by December
10, 2015. After this date, applications for becoming a
sessional member will be accepted only at the venue of the
conference at VNIT, Nagpur, during December 27‐30, 2015.
4. Acceptance of a paper for presentation does not automatically
imply its acceptance for publication in the Journal of the Indian
Mathematical Society or in The Mathematics Student. In case
an author wants a paper to be considered for publication in
either of these periodicals, he/she should submit the same
separately to the Editor concerned.

stThe 81 annual conference of the Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) will be held at VNIT, Nagpur, Maharashtra during December 27‐30, 2015 under the presidentship of Prof. A. M. Mathai, Director, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Pala (Kerala). and Emeritus Professor,McGill University, Canada. IMS is the India's oldest scientific society and the largest Mathematical society, founded in 1907 with its head quarters at Pune. The objective of the society is to promote study and research in Mathematical sciences in the country. Its central activity is to inspire and encourage researchers, educationists, students and all Mathematics loving persons. The annual conference of the Society has full of enriching programs such as lectures by eminent Mathematicians, symposia on current areas of research and presentations of research papers by researchers from all over the country. In this conference a panel discussion on Credit based choice system will be conducted.

In order to encourage and inspire the young and budding researchers,
the society holds, during its annual conferences, a special session of
paper presentation competition. During this session, various prizes are
to be awarded to the best research papers presented. This special
session will be held as a part of academic program with no other
parallel sessions. Following will be the areas and the groups for these
prizes:
(i) IMS Prize Group 1: Discrete Mathematics (Combinatorics, Graph
Theory and related areas) .
(ii) IMS Prize Group 2: Algebraic Geometry, Geometry, Topology,
Algebraic Topology, Differential Geometry and related areas.
(iii) IMS Prize Group 3: Measure Theory, Probability Theory, Stochastic
processes and related areas.
(iv) IMS Prize Group 4: Differential/Integral/Functional Equations and
inequalities, Numerical Analysis and related areas.
(v) IMS Prize Group 5: Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics

The city of Nagpur, popularly known as Orange City, is located at the center of the country with the Zero Mile marker indicating the geographic center of India and is among the top five green cities of the country. Nagpur is the second capital of Maharashtra state. The average temperature of the city during December is approximately
0 012 C–22 C. It is well connected to other parts of the country by Train / Bus & Airline. The distance of campus from Nagpur Railway Station/ Bus Stand/ Air Port is about 8 Km. The mode of conveyance available at the station/ airport is Auto Rickshaw and Taxi. The auto/taxi fare from station/ air port to VNIT campus is about Rs. 150/‐.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur is one of the thirty one National Institutes of Technology in the country. The Government of India by Act of Parliament (National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007 (29 of 2007)) declared VNIT Nagpur as an Institute of National Importance along with other NITs. The Institute was established in the year 1960 as Regional College of Engineering. In 1962, the Governing Board of the College resolved to name it after the eminent engineer, planner, and statesman of the country Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The Institute offers eight B. Tech., one B. Arch., sixteen M.Tech., three M.Sc. and Ph. D. programs in various disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, Science, Humanities and Social Science.
