THE 350 P ST TIFFANY & CO.
We are off and running here in San Francisco and around the world of
Tiffany! If you haven’t spent any time exploring our newest publication,
Legendary Tiffany…please do! It could be our most important publica-
tion ever!
Here in San Francisco, a Valentine’s Message was prominently dis-
played (for the first time ever) on a billboard in Union Square. Look for
engagement messages this April on the billboard, on the Powell St.
cable cars and on kiosks. The media is reporting that Luxury is back on
the rise in our neighborhood with store openings scheduled throughout
the year (Graff is opening in the 200 block in November). Our store
presence in the greater Chicago area and to the North in Canada will each increase to 4
stores with the May openings in Northbrook and Calgary.
We began the expansion of the Fashion Jewelry Salon and construction is on schedule
with a completion date of April 15th. This should be a big help as we prepare for the im-
portant Mother’s Day peak selling season.
The company has recently launched “Tiffany Locks” and our marketing efforts are promi-
nent throughout national and local magazines, newspapers, through a variety of outdoor
advertising vehicles and as the feature of our landing page at www.Tiffany.com Danielle
has also featured this important new launch in the name of our newsletter!
Finally, we should acknowledge the extraordinary work our col-
leagues in Tiffany Japan are doing as the country continues to deal
with a most unfortunate and tragic sequence of events. Our Chair-
man and CEO, Mike Kowalski, recently sent out an e-mail indicating
that our Tiffany colleagues are accounted for and are safe. He
also indicated that Tiffany would be making a corporate donation
in support of the relief efforts. Please be reminded that our com-
pany has a matching program should you choose to make a per-
sonal donation to the relief efforts.

We loved San Fran-

Hello Randall,
Thank you for
your lovely note. It is
rare to receive a hand-
written note nowadays
as we use email so ex-
tensive (me, guilty!).
Thought that you might
like to know that due to
the rain in San Fran-

actually delayed for 4
hours which meant that
we missed our connec-

Make It Right Dear Ivan, I just wanted to tell you how
much I appreciate the way
you helped me and express
my gratitude. Thank you very
much for choosing absolutely
the right ring for my girlfriend
when I was in San Francisco
last week. But special thanks for your patience with
my German credit card over
the last days!!! You were really a stroke of
luck for me and I just want to
tell you that by
all means I will always recom-
mend my friends to go to
Tiffany’s to get their engage-
ment ring, not only because
they are in my eyes the most
beautiful but also because
your service is outstanding !!!
Thank you very much,

Whew!...She’s one Tough Mudder! Kristine enters the
Tough Mudder Southern California challenge in Snow
Valley, California on May 28th where her team will com-
pete with others. The Tough Mudder series was cre-
ated because there is not an event in America that
tests toughness, fitness, strength, stamina and men-
tal grit all in one place and all in one day. Know more about Tough Mud-
der at toughmudder.com.
As is tradition, San Francisco
celebrated the Year of the Rab-
bit in grand style with what is
purported to be one of the
world’s largest and most signifi-
cant Lunar New Year parades. It
was estimated the number of
people who came and watched
this year’s parade was 722,000
which is a lot considering the
rainy weather SF had before it
even got started. This year’s
celebration had some additional
importance as it was the first
time in the history of the city
that our Mayor [Edwin M. Lee] is
of Chinese decent.
Our own Danielle Lopez continues to be an
important contributor to the annual parade for
6 years as she helped to choreograph and
coordinate for different organizations as they
participated in the parade. Look for a special
tribute and thank you to Danielle in the up-
coming edition of the Saint Ignatius College
Preparatory school’s newspaper for the many
hours of hard work that she has donated to
their participation in the parade. Well my
friend…thank you for the fabulous gift to our
city and its’ youth.

Bella was born and raised in New York City. she moved out
west with her husband two years ago and currently paints
out of her studio in Los Angeles, with many mini escapes
back home to NYC for doses of inspiration. Bella’s whimsical
feminine illustrations are created in gouache (watercolor).
Her work has appeared in all sorts of places- advertising
(Hewlet Packard), magazines (Cosmo Girl), retail display
(Macys NY), licensing and greeting cards (Marcel Schurman),
galleries, and the many walls of friends and family. Her
strong ties to fashion began with a degree in fashion design,
followed by work doing fashion styling and designing retail
window displays, and then a career as a makeup artist in
New York City and Los Angeles, all before going on to her
true love, illustration.— www.illustrationmundo.com
Like one of the many illustrators (i.e. Sujean Rim, Robert Toledo,
Tobie Giddio, just to name a few) that have displayed their draw-
ings for Tiffany & Co; Bella Pilar is among one of them. Her de-
signs were used “for invitation only.” Her vibrant choice of deli-
cious colors inspired me to put together a mini collage of our
Spring Handbag Collection. You may find more of her drawings by viewing her website

The 350 Post 5
Heidi’s Tiffany Anniversary A decade of service at Tiffany is an occasion for celebration! In this issue we honor 10-year employee Heidi Gerber for her hard work and accomplishments.
What words of wisdom can you pass
along to those just starting?
Heidi: Treat others as you would like
to be treated, run your job like you are
the boss and it is your own business
and you will be successful. Show a
genuine interest in your customer and
your customer will remember you and
seek you out .
Why have you stayed at Tiffany’s?
Heidi: I love the product, the people I
work with and I truly enjoy advising my
clients on their jewelry needs. I really
can not imagine another company that
can produce a better product and that
can offer such a diverse product as-
sortment.
What makes it special and what keeps
you coming in day after day?
Heidi: The product is very special and
the company is a true part of Ameri-
can History, which is unique and some-
thing to be proud of. The challenge is
exciting, and rewarding and I love sell-
ing the beautiful product we make.
pany is much larger now with so many
more stores opening, and that is just in
the last 10 years. It seems hard to be-
lieve that I watched Walnut Creek, Car-
mel, Santa Barbara and Roseville
open and that is just in our backyard, it
seems like yesterday.
How has it gotten better?
Heidi: We have really made customer
service a much bigger focus and area
of concern. When I first started it
seemed like we thought the customers
should feel lucky that they were shop-
ping at our store. Now our focus is how
lucky we are to be working at such a
great store and how lucky we are to
have such great customers.
Where do you see Tiffany’s going in the
next 10 years?
Heidi: I think we plan on being every-
where. To be competitive in this mar-
ket we want our brand to have a
global presence. We might become a
mini department store even!
What first brought you to Tiffany?
Heidi: I was referred by one of
my former employees. I had once told
her that my favorite stores were Target
and Tiffany. She had taken a job in the
Palo Alto store and when I went to visit
her there she suggested that I go to
work in the San Francisco store. So I
took her advice.
What position did you start in and what
are you in now?
Heidi: I started in the silver jewelry
department or what we call Fashion
Jewelry now. I worked in that depart-
ment for just about 5 years. I am now
in fine jewelry and I will be hitting the
five year mark in the department very
soon.
How has Tiffany’s changed over the
years?
Heidi: We are really growing globally
now, and our product categories are
increasing. When I first started we
were just phasing out handbags and
scarves and ties. Now we are phasing
in this product assortment. The com-
Remembering a Special Friend
Tiffany San Francisco lost a very special friend in February of this year. It’s almost impossible to
think of our company in this city and not mention Michael Barcun…but somehow we’re going to
have to figure out how to move forward without this very special man.
Ever the professional, Mr. Barcun was as much a part of San Francisco as he was a part of Tiffany
& Co. He helped many of the city’s most important residents with important purchases for their
homes or with the selection of important gifts for very special occasions. He would then, often with
Ronnie at his side, lead important charitable efforts in the city that raised critical funds in support of
the Arts.
As a City, San Francisco has a wonderful well deserved reputation for supporting the Arts. We are
home to many world renowned museums and performing arts organizations. As a store, Tiffany &
Co in San Francisco has the reputation as the place to buy the perfect piece (with exquisite levels of
service to help in the selection) to celebrate life’s special occasions. Mr. Barcun certainly played a
prominent role in making both of these statements possible.
As we celebrate a life well lived, I am reminded that San Francisco is a better City, Tiffany & Co is a
better company and I am a better person for the opportunity to have known this wonderful person.
