In the previous tutorial, we went through Step 1 of creating your own BASIC marketing plan which was to specifically identify your Target Market.

An important component to crafting our your marketing plan is knowing how to convey the message that you have to your now-found target market.

Your message should speak to them.  It should pose the questions/answers to your market about why what YOU have can and/or will help them solve the problem they believe they have.

You message must be clear, concise and to the point.  After all, the attention span of the average consumer these days is literally 0!

So you have to capture them and do it fast.

Now, remember those problems we listed out in step 1, along with their possible solutions? 

Here is where we will take that information and use it to share with our market why they should listen to, and buy from us.

In turn, we could craft a message highlighting those areas of concern and could have something like this:

Now, in the way this message was written, it could be considered a headline, and that’s fine too.  At this basic level, we are simply looking to get the attention of our target market and reel them in hinting to the problems we believe they have, seeded with the solutions we believe they deserve.

Using another target market, here is a message that could be used as well.  See if you can identify the target market based on the message presented:

Notice how I didn’t actually state the problems, but instead I leveraged the solutions which indicated their obvious problems.

If my target market wanted to do any of the things I mentioned in the message above, I KNOW they are struggling with the associated problems…see how this works?

So go ahead, take the problems and solutions of your target market and craft out your message.  And remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect.  All it has to do is speak to the heart and mind of your market and get them to say, “Yeah…I want that!”  or even “I’ve got to know more!”  That’s it!!
