Abstract Submission Criteria

The abstract should consist of 250 – 300 words

about one of the above areas. The abstract

should be submitted to the committee as an

attachment bearing name, institution/affiliation,

and contact details.

The paper to be presented should fulfil the

following criteria:

?It should be original and has not been presented elsewhere;

?The title of the paper should not exceed 15 words

?The paper 10 pages, including the recent bibliography of not more than 100 words.

?Times New Roman 11pt, A4 Paper size, single space

?Margins: Left margin: 2.5 cm., Right- up- bottom: 2 cm.

Each paper will be presented in 20 minutes and

followed by a 20 minute discussion. The presentation

material should be in 2003 Microsoft Powerpoint.

Laptop and LCD viewer are provided by the

committee.

All proposals will be evaluated by the abstract

reviewers. The acceptance will be based on the

relevance to the themes of the conference.

Conference registration fee includes conference kits,

morning and afternoon tea, lunches and a Welcome

Background

Language as a system has evolved and developed

in various contexts, e.g. educational, sociological,

and multicultural contexts. Thus, in this

multicultural society, the understanding and

application of systemic functional linguistics (SFL)

are expected to contribute to the success of all

human activities under different cultural

background, as language is a means

communication and also a mirror of one's culture.
