Within the organizational structure of the Regional Ministry of Health (Conselleria de Sanitat), we are in charge of the continual education of health care professionals who work inside and outside the Valencian health system. Furthermore, we are in charge of research activity related to Public Health and the management of health services.

EVES has recently been awarded the AENOR mark of Quality Certificate in accordance with the UNE-ISO 9001:2000 for its design and execution of training programmes aimed at health care professionals

This recognition highlights our willingness to facilitate the process, both for the professionals teaching and the students receiving our courses.

At the 28th ASPHER Annual Conference in Maastricht, EVES was

designated organizer of the 29th Conference by the General Assembly

..and from this we are working very enthusiastically

The Conference: main subject

The challenge of the integration of Public Health services into European Health Systems and the need to define the minimum group of Public Health-related functions led us to

propose the following subject for the Conference:

Strengthening Public Health Services in Europe.

Public Health Functions and Educational Needs

The Conference: preliminary programmeWe want to create a forum to exchange successful initiatives and practices in relation to the 3 essential fields of action in Public Health and review our day-to-day experiences to define:

Health Protection: essential dimensions, services and educational needs

Disease Prevention: essential dimensions, services and educational needs

Health Promotion: essential dimensions, services and educational needs

The Conference: preliminary programme

We have prepared plenary sessions for the introduction of the 3 themes, followed by different parallel sessions in which the oral communication sessions, poster sessions and thematic workshops will take place simultaneously with the ASPHER workshops and Students forum.

After those activities we will look at the integration of public health systems into the health systems through a round table debate with the following topic: “Health systems and their functional framework (stewardship, resource generation, financing and provision of services) and the role of Public Health: essential dimensions and educational needs”
