Mission
We, the parish of St. Isidore the Farmer, are dedicated to growing a life-long Catholic community. Believing in the Risen Christ, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to celebrate the Eucharist, to be nourished by the Word of God, and to serve the needs of the local
and worldwide community.

Stewardship
St. James warns in today’s second reading that those who hoard their wealth and live only for themselves will be condemned. But in the Gos-pel, Jesus assures us that all who give of themselves for His sake will be
rewarded.
Vocation View
The Lord calls many to service in the church. How can you, in prayer, love, and action, support those who are called to service as priests and
religious? (Mark 9:38-43)

High School Fellowship Meal: High school families are being asked to provide a light meal AND beverage for approximately 35 people for our Wednesday night classes. If you are able to help with the serving and clean-up, that would be fantastic. Class starts at 6:15 and we usually eat about 6:25. If you have a problem with the assigned date, please try to trade with another family. If this is a financial hardship, you may turn your receipts into the RE office for reimbursement. Please call Theresa if you have any questions (482-4852 or 651-9682). Thank you for your help.
The schedule for the Fall Block is posted on the parish website under the Religious Education section.
Children’s Liturgy resumes today. and we invite the young children of the parish to participate in their own Liturgy of the Word at Mass each Saturday night. Con-tact Ann Lorenz if you have any questions.

October Count: Archbishop Jackels asks that each parish in the Archdiocese take a count of persons attending Mass for four weekends in October. This annual gathering of information can help parishes in planning Mass schedules that encourage quality and prayerful celebrations. It will also be helpful in Archdiocesan planning to assure the availability of sacraments, religious educa-tion and active faith communities in light of the number of availa-
ble priests.
40 Days for Life began September 23, 2015 and will continue until November 1, 2015. Prayers will be said on the sidewalk out-
side of Planned Parenthood, 3425 1st Ave SE in Cedar Rapids.
The 40 Days for Life campaign is firmly rooted on a foundation of prayer and fasting. To help maintain focus on the Lord and stay in tune with His guidance, we will prepare and distribute a series of
daily devotionals — one for each of the 40 days of the campaign.
Visit https://40daysforlife.com/mission for more information.
The Archdiocesan Our Call to Share collection was taken up in our parish on the weekend of September 19-20. Your donation can still be ac-cepted even if you missed the deadline. Use the envelope you
received in the mail to be sure it is credited accordingly.

Music Ministry Notes
Well, this is Farewell, St. Isidore! In 20 years of playing at your liturgies (off and on), you have become an in-credibly special parish to me. Of all the churches I’ve worked in over the years, you are the “singingest” parish I ever did accompany. What a pleasure to play for such a gifted and willing faithful. I will pray you find just the right person to bang out your music next. I’ve no doubt you will inspire someone the way you inspired me that day many years ago when I came to Mass here for the
first time. God bless and keep you ….and never quit
singing glory to God!
Yours fondly, Charlotte Niederhauser
