ZOO INTERCHANGE PROJECT IMPACTS

SYSTEM RAMP CLOSURESAs part of the Zoo Interchange project, the I-94 West to I-894/US 45 South system ramp and the I-894/US 45 North to I-94 West system ramp closed in early March. To facilitate the construction of the new interchange, the westbound to southbound system ramp (E-S) will remain closed until fall 2017. The northbound to westbound (S-W) system ramp will remain closed until late 2015.

During these closures, motorists are encouraged to utilize regional alternate routes when possible, in addition to the local alternate routes. The suggested alternate routes can be found to the right.

ZOO INTERCHANGE PROJECT OVERVIEWWork continues on the Zoo Interchange project which includes reconstruction of Eastbound and Westbound I-94 from 70th Street to the Zoo Interchange, US 45 from the Zoo Interchange to Swan Boulevard, the Wisconsin Avenue Bridge over US 45, and some of the system ramps in the core of the interchange. The map above illustrates the current closures located throughout the Zoo Interchange project.

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

AMTRAKComing to Summerfest from Chicago or Racine/Kenosha? This summer, jam without traffic by taking the train with Amtrak Hiawatha Service between Chicago and Milwaukee. Amtrak Hiawatha offers easy access to Summerfest from the downtown Milwaukee Intermodal Station. You can catch the train from Chicago Union Station, Glenview in the Northern suburbs and Sturtevant in the Racine/Kenosha Area. Visit amtrakhiawatha.com for details.

FREEWAY FLYER SERVICECatch a Milwaukee County Transit System Freeway Flyer to Summerfest’s Mid Gate from a park & ride lot where parking is free. Service begins one half-hour before and ends one half-hour after Summerfest ends. Visit ridemcts.com for details.

DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE SERVICERemember the Downtown Shuttle is a great way to avoid getting caught in a traffic jam. Park for less away from the fest, Shuttle in, Shuttle out, and easily escape the crowds near the festival grounds. Visit ridemcts.com for details. OZAUKEE COUNTY EXPRESSOzaukee County Express provides service from 11:30 am to 12:30 am daily, starting at the Saukville Wal-Mart (Hwy 33/Green Bay Avenue). The bus departs 13 minutes later from the Target/Home Depot (Hwy 60) in Grafton.

WAUKESHA SERVICEThe Wisconsin Coach Line shuttle originates from the Nagawaukee Park & Ride in Delafield (I-94/Hwy 83). Other pick-ups include the Meadowbrook Park & Ride lot (I-94/County Hwy G) and Goerke’s Corners Park & Ride lot (I-94/Barker Road). The shuttle drop-off and pick-up at Summerfest is located west of the Mid Gate on Chicago Street. Visit wisconsincoach.com for details.

RACINE & KENOSHA SERVICEWisconsin Coach Lines will offer 8 northbound and southbound weekday trips and 4 weekend trips per day, as part of their regular service to serve Racine and Kenosha Summerfest attendees. Visit wisconsincoach.com for details.

MADISON SERVICEBadger Bus will offer special service from Madison to Summerfest 5 times a day during the festival. The bus will drop off at the Wisconsin Coach stop at East Michigan Street and Jackson Street, four blocks from the Summerfest North Gate. Visit badgerbus.com for details.

GO RITEWAY SUMMERFEST SHUTTLEPark your car, it’s FREE, then relax and ride GO Riteway’s shuttle to Summerfest from two convenient locations in Washington County; the Washington County Fair Park (Highway 45/Pleasant Valley Road) and the Life Church parking lot (Mequon Road/Squire Drive). GO Riteway’s shuttle drop-off and pick-up location at Summerfest is the North Gate. Visit goriteway.com for details.

PARKING INFORMATION

SUMMERFEST PARKING LOTSSummerfest parking lots open daily at 9:00 a.m. Preferred Parking is only $20 and Exclusive Parking is only $35. All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-paid parking passes for specific dates during Summerfest may be purchased online, at the Summerfest Box Office and via phone.

Free motorcycle parking is located near the Mid Gate, sponsored by Harley-Davidson®, on a first-come, first-served basis.
