September 17, 2011 Edition 108 From your Director Bula everyone, it was great to be back amongst you all again on Wednesday. \ HOME WORK FOR NEXT WEEK: We will continue our way through the song list, the next group are; Come fly with me Straighten up and fly right Up up and away Remember to have your recording devices with you for self assessment on these songs. We will do listening groups for the ballad ‘Bundle of old love letters’ On Wednesday night I placed an attendance sheet on the notice board for Christchurch Convention 2012. It has been 3 years since we last competed. And under Sweet Adeline International ruling a Chorus must compete at least every 3 years to retain their affiliation to Sweet Adelines International. To be eligible to go onto the contest stage and compete in the Small Chorus Division we must have between 15 to 30 singers on the risers, and of course a good parts balance is paramount. Please tick your attendance intention; it is important that I have this information now. Have a great weekend, GO THE ALL BLACKS!! Gill From Your Team Co-ordinator Hi all; what a difference the hall temp made- didn't we sound nice! With a tanned Gill back from Hols we warmly welcomed Lisa back into the Baritones- great to have you back Lisa! Thanks to all who put their names down for Ballentynes night; for those who were away please let Fy know if you are going to be there so Gill can assess the balance and choose appropriate songs for the midway performance. At the mo its looking like California Dreaming, Breaking up is Hard to Do and a toss up between You've got a Friend, Fly right, Straighten up or Java Jive...if you get a chance perhaps revise these to make Gills choice easier next week. Fauna has about 20 tickets left for the night so lets make an effort to sell these and fill the venue! It was hard for all of us to acknowledge Trees' resignation wasn't it? We congratulate her in obtaining HARMONISING TARANAKI SINCE 1995 WEEKLY NEWSLETTER OF TARANAKI HARMONY CHORUS SINGALINE DIARY NOTES 27 th Sept Ballantynes Fashion Parade. 9 th October Lyn Smith coaching at Frankley School 15 th -16 th October Fys Plant Sale Possible Coaching Dates with Barbara Smith 4 th – 6 th November 24 th – 26 th February 20 th - 22 nd April 3 rd December Deck the Halls 14 th December Friends and Family Night

choice. All the best too to Lyndsay and hope to see you back again

one day. As Cherol said on the night although we have lost a few in

the last months those remaining and turning up are pretty hard core-

we are all aware of the need to compete in order to remain affiliated

with Sweet Adeline's and continue as a group; I am proud to be in this

team; thanks to all who make it what it is. Whose on for CHCH then?
