Thanksgiving Worship Please join us for a special worship service on Wednesday, November 25 at 6:30pm to focus on the many blessings God has show- ered on us and his promise to continue to bless us. Share the Joy Our Mary & Martha group will be collecting do- nations through December 11th that will help provide gifts to families in our community this Christmas. There are donation envelopes at church which you may use and place directly in the offering plate. Or, you may mail your dona- tion to church: 9998 - 90th St S Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Red Cross Blood Drive Christ the Lord will be hosting another blood drive on Tuesday, December 15 from 11am- 5pm. Appointments are needed and can be made online at redcrossblood.org. All donators will be entered to win an Outdoor Living Experi- ence. Lawn Mower for Sale The church's John Deere riding lawn mower has been restored and is for sale. It is being offered to congregation members first before posting online. Please see the bulletin in the entryway for more information. If you or a friend or rela- tive are interested in purchasing, please reach out to Ron Kath (651-260-3358). Advent by Candlelight is a wonderful way for women to connect with each other and focus on their Savior during a season that can easily pull focus elsewhere. Without being able to physically gather together this year plan B is to still connect with the ladies in our church and community by delivering "Advent by Candlelight baskets." Ladies can then choose a time that works in their schedule to sit down with the in- cluded devotion, music CD and other treats and have their own personal Advent by Candlelight. Here’s how it works: Baskets are assembled by the church with a few things provided including, the basket, devotion ma- terials, a CD with music and a candle. (For those that perfer, the music will also be accessible online) You can sign up to recieve a basket or sign up to be a basket host (like hosting a table in past years) Basket Hosts: -Pick the number of baskets you want to distribute. (you can have names in mind of people you want to deliver to or choose names from the general list) - Add any other treats, beverages, etc. to your basket that you want (like you would if you hosted a table) - Deliver your baskets by December 13 - You will also get a basket for yourself Sign up to receive a basket or host baskets online at christthelord.net/advent-by-candlelight Or on the sign up sheet on the counter

Revelation 19:16—”On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF

LORDS.” There have been some empires in world his-tory that are mindboggling in their size. Maybe you think of Alexander the Great and the Macedonian empire. Maybe the Roman Empire. In the east you find the massive Mongol empire that covered over nine million square miles. The largest empire based on space was the British empire that covered 13.71 million square miles. There are many more empires that were gigantic in size. It is interesting to note that the largest empire of all time controlled about a quarter of the globe. While that is impressive, it also means there was a great deal of the world not under its control. I point it out because it highlights for me how wondrous of a king Jesus really is. Here in Reve-lation 19 John sees the vision of a rider on a white horse who is called faithful, true, and the Word of God. He is crowned with many crowns, and he bears this title: King of kings and Lord of lords. He judges with justice and rules all the nations with an iron scepter. What a wondrous picture of Jesus, our King! His reign extends over all the earth. Over every power that is, was and will be. He reigns over the forces and powers of this world that no one is able to control or defeat. We do not need to fear anything, because this king shed his blood to bring you into his kingdom. He made you one of his people and now promises to fight for you and protect you. He did this so that you would be his very own and would enjoy a life of innocence, blessedness, and holiness as his people. Do not despair or grow anxious, no matter what trials we might face. You belong to a kingdom that will stand for eternity, and you are beloved by the one who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
