Index has been organizing Vibrant Gujarat Summits since 2003. The ninth edition of the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Summit

(VGGS), an international forum initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, will be held from the 18th to

World Trade has been a driver of growth and employment across the globe. Global value chains have become a dominant feature of today’s global economy, and as a result there is growing evidence and recognition that the nature of trade is changing. World trade is now characterized by the international fragmentation of production driven by technological progress, cost, and access to resources and markets.

Traditional measures of trade that record gross flows of goods and services each time they cross borders do not reflect the value that is added in a country in the production of any good or service that is exported, nor do such measures reflect the role of imports of intermediate goods and services in export performance. Looking at trade from a value added perspective better reveals how upstream domestic industries contribute to exports, even if they have little direct international exposure.

These changes in the nature of world trade have considerable implications for the policy choices and global rules that will allow governments and business to leverage trade and investment in the most effective way to contribute to economic growth and job creation.

These and a few more relevant issues and components of World Trade require to be deliberated on a regular basis. And as is well

accepted, the engine of the world economy is greatly facilitated by business organisations such as Chamber of Commerce &

Industry.

Accordingly, the Conclave of International Chambers ( January 18-20, 2019) is a definite step towards providing international platform and forum to list out, deliberate and move towards action by prominent and active Chambers of Commerce from diverse countries

Objectives:

· The main objective of organizing the Conclave of National Chambers is to create a platform for MSMEs for exchange of information, sharing of market related data, learning from best practices and program initiatives of the participating Chambers.

Opportunities

· This Conclave would give the MSME of the State, the opportunity to interact with the MSMEs of the other State and create opportunity to transact business.

· This Conclave would also give an opportunity to the State Chambers to highlight their projects and key initiatives to national and global players participating in Vibrant Gujarat, a mega international scale event.

· Opportunities to chambers for sharing their members’ database for commercial benefits.

· Opportunity to learn and share best practices, programs and initiative of other chambers.

· Opportunity to meet and interact with the successful entrepreneurs of Gujarat. The members of each chamber will get opportunity to visit other state and do business.

· Opportunity to visit and have interaction with top level institutes of excellence like IIMA, NID, PDPU, GTU, NEET, EDI, NIFT, etc.
