1. DATE AND PLACE

The 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships will be held from August 16th to 24th, 2019 in Bandar

Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

2. VENUES

3.1 Competition Venue: National Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex

3.2 Training Venue: Multi-purpose Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex

3. COMPETITION EVENTS

3.1 Taolu Events

3.1.1 Individual Events

3.1.1.1 Youth Group

3rd Set of International Competition Routine: Changquan, Taijiquan,

Nanquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Tajijian, Nandao, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Nangun.

Duilian (Dual) Event.

3.1.1.2 Junior Group

1st Set of International Competition Routine – Changquan, Daoshu,

Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu.

International Compulsory Routine – 42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms

Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun.

3.1.1.3 Children Group

Elementary Routine: Changquan (No. 3 Elementary Routine), Daoshu,

Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu.

3.1.2 Taolu Group Events

3.2 Sanda Events

3.2.1 Junior Category

Male: 48 KG, 52 KG, 56 KG, 60 KG, 65 KG, 70 KG, 75 KG, 80 KG.

Female: 48 KG, 52 KG, 56 KG, 60 KG.

3.2.2 Children’s Category

Male: 42 KG, 45KG, 48 KG, 52 KG, 56 KG.

4. QUALIFICATIONS

4.1 Only those member federations/ associations have paid their WFA annual membership

fees for 2018 and 2019 will be permitted to participate in the Championships.

4.2 The federation/ association applying to join WFA may be invited to take part in the

Championships after their applications have been accepted by the WFA.

5. ENTRY REQUIREMENT

5.1 Taolu Events

5.1.1 Each country and region may enter one (1) team.

5.1.2 Each team shall be composed by maximum 18 members including: one (1) Team

Manager, two (2) Coaches, one (1) Doctor, and fourteen (14) competitors:

Youth Group: Age 16-18 (born between January 1st, 2001 - December 31st, 2003).

Three (3) male and three (3) female competitors.

Each competitor may enter for a maximum of five (5) competition events,

which are one (1) bare hand routine, one (1) short weapon, one (1) long

weapon, one (1) duilian (dual event) and one (1) group event.

Junior Group: Age 13-15 (born between January 1st, 2004 - December 31st, 2006).

Two (2) male and two (2) female competitors.

Each competitor may enter for a maximum of 4 events, which are one (1)

bare hand routine, one (1) short weapon, one (1) long weapon, and one

(1) group event.

Children Group: Age 7-12 (born between January 1st, 2007 - December 31st, 2012).

Two (2) male and two (2) female competitors.

Each competitor may enter for a maximum of 3 events, which are one (1)

bare hand routine, one (1) weapon (choose between short and long

weapon) and one (1) group event.

Remark: Bare hand events includes Changquan, Taijiquan and Nanquan; short

weapons include: Jianshu, Daoshu, Taijijian and Nandao; long weapons

include: Qiangshu, Gunshu and Nangun.

5.1.3 Duilian (Dual) Events: Composed by two (2) or three (3) competitors, separate

genders.

5.1.4 Group Event: Shall be composed by no less than 6 competitors, with no restriction

on the competition events and age category (it can be a combination of male and

female competitors from either Youth, Junior, Children Group). It can be

performed with music (no lyrics), with time limitation is 2 – 3 minutes.

5.1.5 Competitors are required to submit a health certificate issued within a period of

30 days prior to the competition (including electrocardiogram, pulse and blood

pressure) and a valid life insurance certificate.

5.2 Sanda Events

5.2.1 Each country and region may enter one (1) team.

5.2.2 Each team shall be composed by maximum fifteen (15) members including: one (1)

Team Manager, two (2) Coaches, one (1) Doctor, and eleven (11) competitors:

Junior Category: Age 15-17 (born between January 1st, 2002 - December 31st, 2004).

Five (5) male and three (3) female competitors.

Children Category: Age 12-14 (born between January 1st, 2005 - December 31st, 2007).

Three (3) male competitors.

5.2.3 Each team may sign-up one (1) competitor for each weight category, and each

competitor is allowed to apply for only one (1) weight category.

5.2.4 Competitors are required to submit a health certificate issued within a period of

30 days prior to the competition (including electroencephalogram,

electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) and a valid life insurance certificate.

6. COMPETITION METHOD

6.1 Taolu Events

6.1.1 Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be

conducted in accordance with the IWUF “Rules for International Wushu Taolu

Competition” (2005).

6.1.1.1 The competition will be utilized the Non-Degree of Difficulty Scoring

Method (comprising of A Group –Quality of Movements Scoring & B

Group – Overall Performance Scoring only).

6.1.1.2 Time limit:

Changquan, Jianshu, Daoshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Nanquan, Nandao and

Nangun: no less than 1 min 10 secs.

42 Forms Taijiquan: 5 - 6 minutes.

Taijiquan, Taijijian and 42 Forms Taijijian: 3 - 4 minutes.

Duilian: no less than 40 seconds.

There is no time requirement for Elementary Taolu events.

6.1.2 The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the WFA. In the event of

discrepancies in the interpretation of the Rules, the Chinese Text shall prevail.

6.2 Sanda Events

6.2.1 Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be

conducted in accordance with the “IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules &

Judging Method” (2017).

6.2.2 The knock out system will be adopted during the competition. If the number of

competitors is less than 3 (include the 3 person), a single round-robin will be

adopted.

6.2.3 Kicks to the head and successive/continuous punches to the head are prohibited.

6.2.4 Athletes participating on the competing day must be weighed on the same day.

6.2.5 The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the WFA. In the event of

discrepancies in the interpretation of the Rules, the Chinese Text shall prevail.

7. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENTS

7.1 Taolu Events

7.1.1 Competitors must wear wushu competition costumes in compliance with the rules,

and equipment used in the event shall meet the requirement of the rules.

7.1.2 Competitors shall prepare their own costumes and equipment.

7.2 Sanda Events

7.2.1 Competitors must wear the costumes and protective gears in compliance with the

rules during the competition.

7.2.2 Each competitor must prepare their own 2 sets of costumes, mouth guard,

jockstrap and 2 sets of instep guard. Instep guard and costume shall be prepared

one set of red and one set of blue.

7.2.3 Gloves and protective equipment (head guard and chest protector) will be

provided by the Organizing Committee.

8. PLACING & AWARDS

8.1 Taolu Events: the top 8 competitors of each event will be awarded:

1st place: Gold medal and Certificate

2nd place: Silver medal and Certificate

3rd place: Bronze medal and Certificate

4th to 8thplace: Certificate

8.2 Sanda Events: the top 3 competitors of each weight category will be awarded:

1st place: Gold medal and Certificate

2nd place: Silver medal and Certificate

3rd place (Juxtaposition): Bronze medal and Certificate

9. ENTRIES

The preliminary entry and final entry must be submitted through the Online Registration System, all

sections of the online entry must be completed in full, including the uploading of the various

required documents.

9.1 Preliminary Entries

9.1.1 The deadline is on May 16th, 2019 at 24:00 (Brunei time).

9.1.2 The preliminary entry forms must be sent by e-mail, post or facsimile to the

Organization Committee of the 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships and

Secretariat of the Wushu Federation of Asia.

9.1.3 All teams must complete the preliminary entry before deadline in order to access

the final entry system.

9.2 Final Entry

9.2.1 The deadline is on July 16th, 2019 at 24:00 (Brunei time).

9.2.2 The final entry forms shall be signed by either the President or Secretary-General

of the Federation and stamp it with the federation seal, and to be sent by e-mail,

post or facsimile to the Organization Committee of the 10th Asian Junior Wushu

Championships and Secretariat of the Wushu Federation of Asia.

9.2.3 Each team is required to print a copy of the submitted entry and present it upon

arrival and registration.

9.3 Late registration will not be accepted and no changes after the final registration. In case of

special circumstances, late entries or changes are subject to the approval of the WFA with

written document and if accepted are subject to a late-entry fee of US$100 per

participant or per changes. No changes will be accepted after 20:00 (Brunei time) on

August 18th, 2019.

10. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

10.1 The international airfare, related travel expenses, as well as accommodation fees of all

participants (Competitors, Team Officials, Team Judges and Observers) shall be borne by

the teams themselves.

10.1.1 Each team shall pay the full amount of their unpaid fees to the Organizing

Committee of the 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships during the registration.

10.1.2 The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation for

participating teams from August 16th – 24th, 2019. If any teams arriving earlier or

departing later than the required date, they should inform the Organizing

Committee to arrange their accommodation before July 16th, 2019, related costs

shall be borne by the team themselves.

10.1.3 The WFA and the Organizing Committee request that all participating teams lodge

at the designated hotels arranged. Those teams who wish to stay at another

hotel/ location, due to special requirements, is required to pay a participation fee

of US$100 per person. These participants are responsible for their own

transportation and all other aspect of their accommodation at their own expenses

and shall accept responsibility for consequences arising as a result of this.

10.2 Payment method

10.2.1 In order to secure the accommodation, participating teams are requested to pay

50% of the total fees by international bank transfer simultaneously with the

preliminary entry submission. The remaining 50% balance must be paid by

international bank transfer simultaneously with the final entry submission.

10.2.2 Teams that are unable to pay by international bank transfer must inform both

WFA Secretariat and the Organizing Committee in advance and must pay the

relevant fees in total to the Organizing Committee upon arrival.

10.2.3 If the participating teams do not comply with the deadline, the accommodation

will not be guaranteed. The teams will be solely responsible for the consequences

that may occur.

11. ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION

11.1 All judges are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with

the Organizing Committee on August 16th, 2019.

11.2 All participating teams are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and

register with the Organizing Committee on August 16th, 2019.

11.3 Upon arrival, all teams are required to:

Pay the relevant participation fees in full.

Submit all required documents.

12. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS

12.1 The Organizing Committee of the 10th Asian Junior Wushu Championships shall be

responsible for organizing the championships under the guidance of the WFA

Executive Committee and Technical Committee.

12.2 Each participating team may send one Taolu and one Sanda International Grade Judge.

The International Grade Judge must present their valid license issued by IWUF for

registration.

12.3 The Jury members and technical officials will be invited after deliberation between the

Organizing Committee and the WFA.

13. TECHNICAL MEETING

13.1 The technical meeting will take place at 09:00 a.m. on August 18th, 2019. Matters of

the competition will be discussed during the meeting.

13.2 Each team may send two representatives for taolu and two representatives for sanda

to attend this meeting.

14. DRAW-LOTS CEREMONY

14.1 The draw-lots ceremony hosted by the WFA Technical Committee will take place at

10:00 a.m. on August 18th, 2019.

14.2 Each team may send two representatives for Taolu and two representatives for sanda.

The WFA Technical Committee will draw on behalf of the teams that are unable to

send their representatives.

15. WEIGHT-IN

15.1 Initial weight-in will be held at 07:00 a.m. on August 18th, 2019, venue to be confirmed.

15.2 Athletes participating on the day of the Sanda competition must conduct weigh-in on

the same day prior the competition, time and place to be determined.

16. OTHER MATTERS

16.1 Each team shall strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the competition and

compete fairly.

16.2 Those that violate the rules and regulations shall be dealt with in accordance to the

WFA Rules.

16.3 Each team is required to bring the following:

16.3.1 Three (3) pieces of national flags or regional flags or federation flags (1m x 2m);

16.3.2 National anthem or federation song in CD form;

16.3.3 Health Certificates of Taolu and Sanda athletes, life insurance certificate, and

signed Waiver of Liabilities for each participant;

16.3.4 The copy of final entry forms.

deaths, injuries and disabilities; 2. The host and organizer of this championships are exempted from any responsibility for

occurrence of any accidents and disasters happened during competitions; 3. The athletes ensure not to take any medicines (stimulants) or drugs; 4. The athletes ensure not to be involved in or being suspected of any illegal activities; 5. The athletes ensure they are physically and mentally healthy and suitable to participate in

athletic competitions; 6. The athletes should take care of their personal belongings and valuables. The organizer and

undertaker are exempted from any responsibilities for any loss, theft or damage happened at the competition venues.

7. Understand that the medical aid provided by the undertaker during the competition is of matter of basic first aid.

8. Any accidents responsibility happened during first aid are borne by the athletes and participating teams.

9. The athletes agree to abide by all competition rules and procedures enacted by the Wushu Federation of Asia. Any objections should be settled in accordance with the arbitration ordinance.

10. All activities, including exercises, competition and others, may be photographed or taken video or broadcasted live on TV. The athletes agree that the Wushu Federation of Asia and Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam have unlimited right to use the whole or part of these material, in any language, regardless of whether other materials are included, with individual’s name, address, voice, action, graphics and biographical information to the television, radio, video, media drawings, or any media device, and for use in the future. The athletes will not ask for any recovery or compensation.
