Running projects• ENGAGE• EuroRIs-Net+• OpenAIREPlus
Report on ENGAGE (1/2)
• euroCRIS team formed after EoI – allocation of persons to WPs complete
• 12 persons from 9 countries• Adminstrative issues: need to formalise
relationship with euroCRIS ENGAGE team members (contract) and decide on details (e.g. payments, formal monitoring of work etc.)
Report on ENGAGE (2/2)• WP3: Metadata mapping of PSI data standards to
CERIF already done• WP5: technical development– euroCRIS works with STFC to develop a CERIF-based stack
including generation of RDF– Collaboration environment is being setup at EKT– Support needed by WP3
• WP4: Evaluation of ENGAGE scenarios– Deliverable due December 2012– First informal meeting in Bath
Report on EuroRIs-Net+• Subcontracting work officially assigned by the
NHRF Board to euroCRIS• Ensuring EuroRIs-Net+ data model is CERIF
compliant• 12 months (probably starting March 2012) –
15.000 Euros• Need to allocate work within euroCRIS
Report on OpenAIREPlus• Proposal for mapping the OpenAIRE data model to
CERIF compiled and sent to CNR (Paolo Manghi)• Two teleconferences held between euroCRIS and
EKT/euroCRIS• OpenAIREPlus to support CERIF import/export and
probably some parts of the model natively • Discussions in progress – decisions to be made spring
2012• Administrative procedures to be done by EKT
Accepted projects• Two JISC projects from the last call• UK-RISS (UK Research Information Shared
Services). Lead institution: King's College London.
• DESCRIBE (Definition, Evidence, and Structure to Capture Research Impact andBEnefits. Lead institution: University of Exeter.
Submitted proposals• PERICLES– ICT Call 6– euroCRIS is the coordinator – landmark project for euroCRIS
if successful
• EXEDRA– INFRA-2012-1.1.3. Research infrastructures for
archaeological datasets and related technologies– Coordinated by the University of Oxford– EKT subcontracts euroCRIS for applying CERIF to capture
context in archaeology research activities.– Results expected in February/March
Proposals in preparation• PRODROME proposal prepared for the current
open Science in Society Call• Topic SIS.2012.1.3.3-1: Scientific data: open
access, dissemination, preservation and use• Coordinated by INTRASOFT International• ENGAGE core of partners, including euroCRIS
and STFC
Further opportunities• ICT PSP Call 6 – Deadline: 15 May 2012• Objective 2.2b: Open Data and open access to
scientific information– Only Pilot B: co-financing is an issue - personnel
costs are 50% funded by EC
• Objective 2.2c: Legal aspects of PSI and standards for open data– Two thematic networks– Probably go for the “Standards for open data”
with the ENGAGE partners?
