Or is it just the average woman’s dream? I want chocolate that won’t make me fat or make my skin break out. All natural, unprocessed cold pressed dark chocolate is actually healthy. Being unprocessed, it holds 100% of its antioxidant and nutritional value. It has the antioxidant power of dark chocolate without the fat, preservatives, fillers and high sugar like you do in other chocolate. If sweetened with cane juice crystals (a low-glycemic sweetener) or fruit juices, it can even be consumed by diabetics. [As long as they don’t eat too much at one time.]So why do we think chocolate is NOT good for us?Most store-bought chocolate is typically high in refined (white) sugar, milk fats, and hydrogenated oils - ingredients that replace the truly healthful nutrients found in cocoa.

Further, most store-bought chocolate use a process method called "Dutching," which adds alkali-potash to the cocoa before roasting. While this process makes processing cocoa less expensive, this alkalinization process removes most of the chocolate's antioxidant benefits. Another process commonly used by store-bought brands is roasting; when chocolate is prepared above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, most of its antioxidant compounds are destroyed. So enjoy--just be careful which chocolate you choose.

There is a saying, “behind every dark cloud” is a “silver lining”. What do you do, when life turns you upside down? You hold on to God like never before, and wait for the breakthrough! In the fall of 2000, I found my life turned upside down. After 19 years of marriage, I was now “living single”, raising my daugh-ter and starting a new job. The silver lining to what seemed to be a dark cloud, was returning to my first love, singing. My life was now in transition. Using the gift that God gave me to sing became my way to escape. Singing was the safe place where I could let things go.

Growing up, I was surrounded by music. Everyone in my family sang. Because I enjoyed singing so much, throughout my school years, I found myself always taking a choir class. I enjoyed singing so much. When I was a little girl, my mother tells me I would race to the TV to sing along with the spearmint chewing gum commercial!

When you are broken, you search for healing. I searched for a familiar song that would bring comfort and get me through the moment. While on my way to pick up my daughter from school one day, I heard the song “I Need You Now”, by Smokie Norful. It ministered to me in such a great way, that I became so full. I truly needed God NOW to show up and give relief. I later found out that Smokie wrote that particular song when he was really going through.

When asked to sing in Sunday morning service, sometimes, I would barely make it through the song. Because my heart was so heavy laden, I would break down. As I waited for the breakthrough, it felt like my recovery was afar off. Listening to praise and worship music became my sanctuary. I would find my secret closet, and lose myself in worship to God.

One evening while driving home from church service, I began to hear this melody in my head. As I continued to drive, I began to sing the words that were in my heart. Finally, I realized that God had just birthed a song in me. I was in awe, because I always had a desire to be a songwriter. The song God put in my spirit that day was called, “Hallelujah, Hallelu”. It spoke of honoring God and giving Him the highest praise.

We honor you today LordAnd bring sacrifice of praise LordFor your mercy and your grace LordHallelujah, HalleluI lift my hands up high LordFor all the tears I’ve had to cry LordI’ll understand it by and by LordHallelujah, HalleluWe sing the highest praise LordHallelujah to your name LordFor we are not ashamed LordHallelujah, HalleluHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, Hallelu

I knew God was doing something special in me. The songs continued to come forth while I cleaned the house, in the shower, in prayer, and while driving in my car. It was sometimes hard for me to understand what was happening. I didn’t know how to read music, but with each inspired song God would give me a melody and I would be able to recall these songs, even after many days had passed. I knew

Page 10: TEW Magazine July Issue

this was not me, but God working through me. The flood gates had opened and the songs became “the rain in my desert”. As the songs continued to flow out of my spirit, I felt like David writing the 42nd Psalms. There, he speaks of being in a low place, but having a “Yet Praise” in his heart. God later inspired me to write a song from that same book, entitled, “Yet Praise”. Here are a few titles of the songs God has inspired me to write:

1. Hallelujah Hallelu2. Yet Praise3. Count for His Glory4. We Glorify You5. God Did Not Leave Me-He Stayed6. Restoration7. Beautiful In His Time8. You Are The God of My Harvest9. Get On One Accord10. I Want To Be More Like You11. Though It Tarry-Wait On It12. In the Beauty of Your Holiness I’m Waiting

I have shared some of my songs at church fellowships and they have been wellreceived. I am anticipating the day when I will be able to release some of them on CD. The word of God teaches us that what is meant for evil, God is able to make it good. I thank God for my journey and my trials and tribulations which all have been an intricate part in my preparation to fulfill my purpose.

My mother shared that on Resurrection Sunday, 1962, she was rejoicing andpraising God. On this day she was shouting, “Thank You Jesus”, because God had finally given her a baby girl, after having four boys. I was that baby girl! I know I was born to praise God and will “Yet Praise” Him, for He is the help of mycountenance.

Psalms 27:13-14I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD

in the land of the living.Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:

wait, I say, on the LORD.

“IT’S OKAY TO TAKE TIME OUT FOR

YOURSELF, TRUST ME YOUR

FAMILY WILL THANK YOU FOR IT LATER.”

Janet’s day starts at 5am. She get school lunches ready for her 3 kids ages 10, 7 & 5, she then starts breakfast. Janet wake up the kids so they can get ready for school, she does a load of laundry that she forgot to do last night and she goes back up to re-wake the kids. Once the kids are up she helps the 5 yr old get dress, tells the oldest she is not wearing that & gives a high five to the 7 year old for putting his shoes on the right feet. After the kids eat their breakfast, Janet walks them to the bus stop and give kisses goodbye. She then goes back home it is now 8 am. She puts the clothes in the dryer, take a quick shower get dress and takes a quick sip of coffee. Her husband gives her a quick kiss on the cheek then ask if she can pick up his shirts from the dry cleaners and stop by the post office to mail off a package. He then heads out to work. Janet takes a deep breath, grabs her briefcase, car keys and she heads off to her job. When she gets off work she picks up the kids, takes the 10 yr old to piano lesson, 7 yr old to karate & 5 yrs old to ballet class. Janet completes the errand list goes back & pick up the kids. When she gets home her husband greets her from his recliner asking “what’s for dinner’’? Janet frustration is clearly visibly especially when she screams out loud & throws a plate at her husband head(this only happens in her mind) deep breathe…she cooks dinner…goes over homework…clean the kitchen…grab the laundry out of the dryer from this morning. Make sure the kids take their bath, brush their teeth and are ready for bed. Finally at midnight Janet is ready for bed as she enters her bedroom she is greeted by her husband’s snoring…the next day it starts all over again…

THE SUPER WOMAN/MOM SYNDROMEThere should be a walk, telethon & a $1000 benefit dinner to end this disease. Show me a Super Mom/Woman & I will show you a tired, angry & frustrated woman. So often we as women lose ourselves in our children & husbands and we forget how im-portant our needs are. Stress will make you sick and miserable. It’s okay to take time out for yourself, trust me your family will thank you for it later. Just think about the simple pleasures you enjoyed before you pulled out your Super Cape was it getting a manicure/pedicure, reading a book, getting your hair done or a fun girls night out? Whatever it may be, still keep that a part of your life.

Communication is the key that unlocks all the doors of confu-sion. Make out a solid plan that divides all the household chores & errands evenly. Studies has shown that when a child is giving responsibility they grow up to be more productive adults. This can be true for husbands as well they will learn that being more hands on they will have a more happier wife and we all know if Mama is happy everyone is happy.
