The heart of a thermal imager is the detector. Testo places great value on the highest possible quality.With the testo 890, you achieve the highest level of image quality thanks to the 640 x 480 pixel detectorin combination with high-quality Germanium optics. Because the more measurement points there are inthe thermal image, the more details can be recognized and analyzed.

In combination with the Testo SuperResolution technology, the testo 890 recordsextremely high-resolution thermal images in megapixel quality (1280 x 960 pixels).This means that even the smallest or very distant measurement objects can bethermographed with an extremely high level of precision.

Ergonomic handle

Flexible fold-out, rotatable display

Intuitive hybrid operation

In order to be able to be used safely and efficiently in all applications, thetesto 890 offers sophisticated ergonomics. The fold-out, rotatable displayallows images to be recorded above the user’s head. The ergonomic rotat-able handle additionally allows secure handling in difficult-to-access places(such as at floor level).

With the intuitive hybrid operation, input by touchscreencan be selected in addition to the proven joystick oper-ation. In order to always have a hand free (e.g. for safetyreasons), one-hand operation by joystick is recom-mended. In order to navigate through the menu directlyon the display, touchscreen operation is the bestchoice.

SiteRecognition technologyFor repetitive thermography of similar measurement objects, theSiteRecognition technology offers the direct recognition, alloca-tion and archiving of the measurement sites, as well as theautomatic allocation and archiving of the the thermal images.

Detector size 640 x 480 pixelsWith 307,200 temperature measurement points, the measurementobjects are detected in excellent image quality, clearly and precisely.

SuperResolution technology (to 1280 x 960 pixels)SuperResolution technology improves the image quality by oneclass, i.e. the resolution of the thermal images is four times higher.

Thermal sensitivity < 40 mKThanks to an excellent temperature resolution of < 40 mK, even thesmallest temperature differences are visible.

Panorama image assistantFor large measurement objects, the panorama image assistantallows the analysis and documentation of a total image stitchedtogether from many individual images. There is no need to adminis-ter, view and compare several images.

Large field of view thanks to 42° lensWith the 42° standard wide-angle lens, large image sections areimmediately recognized, and the temperature distribution of themeasurement object recorded at a glance.

High temperature up to 1200 °CWith the high temperature option, the measuring range can be flexi-bly extended up to 1200 °C.

Analyze heat development over time

With the testo 890, thermalprocesses can be recorded in realtime. Via the USB 2.0 interface, alldata from the thermographicrecording are directly transferred tothe PC, and can be stopped andanalyzed at any point. The settings for the video are carried out using the IRSoft from a PC. This makesthe testo 890 optimum for theexamination of heat development indevelopment processes.

For every instant, all temperature measurement points areexactly available per pixel, so that all thermal developmentscan be precisely analyzed over time. In addition to this, a log-ger function allows the recording of several individual imagesat defined time intervals or after certain events, such as limitvalue violations, for example.
